first thing I'll do once I have him recruited...new boots. I can't stand the "toes in the wind" one he have in the new shots...
(I don't like those in general. I can understand them in a desertic enviromant, but not in a forest.)

Yeah I'm very anti exposed toes, but I used to play a troll in WoW and got so fed up with having no feet in my boots...I think it's scarred me...
How often do you think elves stub their toes?

Lots of rubble in ancient ruins, probably a lot..him at least...
I never got why in DA2 Elves weren't allowed shoes. I felt bad for Fenris and Merrill.
besides I hate feet

welll. maybe the same reason Elves wheren't allowed to have eyebrows, a part from Fenris, Merrill, and Marethari? to make them undesidearable since there wasn't race selection anymore?
I really love how he looks in the middle pic...that would be the Bowie look yes?
Maaan, I wanna stroke his head sooo bad!
Out of the three presented above, I prefer the middle one too! I juist (not to sound like a broken record, but...) want them to bring his scar back, badly, if in fact, they removed it! Cullen has those big scars on his lip, so why not?!
I'm not attracted to Solas, but i like his bald head,i hope there will be an option to pet him.
In that screenshot Argothian posted, where Solas has the "Maker, please" face, he looks so much like an ex-boyfriend of mine that it weirds me out every time I see it. I hope he looks a bit different than that in-game, so I don't have to struggle with the impulse to slap/stab/explode him for reasons that will not be poor Solas's fault.
My fave is the Bowie shot (lyrabelacqua is going to be SO excited when she gets back!). He does look very feline here, and I love the eyes. And the nose. And the lips. I do hope they bring back the scar...Cullen's definitely adds character to his (very pretty) face.

Solas: he moves the stars for no one.

I am so saving that Jareth gif for future use
Also, the funny thing is I was planning on modeling my rogue (the one I intend to romance Solas with, if he's available) after a young Jennifer Connelly (though I'll headcannon that she's 25, not 15, since, well, ew). Not that older Jennifer Connelly isn't also gorgeous, but, I used to watch the Labyrinth as a kid and Sarah was my first girl-crush.
I'm torn about the no shoes thing. On the one hand I think it's kinda cool, on the other hand, I used to get so annoyed with Merrill when she was all 'I should have worn shoes with soles' and being grossed out because she'd stepped in something. Like, I would totally get you some boots, chickadee, but the game won't let me put them on you.

Jareth gifs are the best gifs. ![]()
That's AWESOME that you're making a Jennifer-as-slightly-older-Sarah rogue! I read somewhere that the script originally called for Jareth to kiss her at the end, but they nixed it because of the creepiness. And so it was that fans would forever headcanon them getting together a few years later anyway...
I find the no shoes on elves thing annoying. It should at least be an OPTION to put them on your elven companions, but my guess is that part of Solas's look will be every pair of boots having the toes cut out. *grumble* I guess my elf will be alone in her trendsetting, normal boot-wearing ways. Only hobbits don't wear shoes. There are no hobbits in Thedas. GIVE MY PEOPLE SHOES.
Ahahah Solas/Bowie is awsome ! The also have the same pair of trousers
*infinite Magic Pants snip*

So I guess this is what Solas does when he's alone with the Spirits in the Fade?
SpoilerDance magic dance
Ahahahah of course it is!
We'll hopefully join him there!
What kind of magic spell to use?
Spoiler
Ok, now I'm really done...I'm sorry...
I think we have a winner. ![]()
Why everyone hating on toed elves? xD I totally love that feature, all my elves won't wear shoes if we can choose. Maybe that's because I hate shoes too, I love going barefoot!first thing I'll do once I have him recruited...new boots. I can't stand the "toes in the wind" one he have in the new shots...

The shoe thing is odd. With the Dalish it could be a cultural thing because apparently they think it gives them greater connection with the earth or some such nonsense but Solas is not meant to have originated with the Dalish, even if he has associated with them. City elves may not have shoes simply because they are too poor to afford them. I would imagine that slaves might be the same in Tevinter but not so much because their master can't afford shoes but to indicate their low status. So in a way, not wearing shoes means you are reinforcing the downtrodden stereotype.
This is why I do hope they don't force me to start off with no shoes just because I'm Dalish. My elf is going to be practical and good footwear is a must. In fact I'd want to have a really nice pair of boots just to show everyone that I have the ability to make myself/buy myself decent footwear.
By the way, I like going shoeless. I am sitting here, typing this, with no shoes. However, there is a time and place for everything. Walking through snow and mud or over rocks, hot sand, shoes are something of a necessity. Certainly dealing with horses. It is bad enough if they tread on your toes in boots, let alone without them.

I'm currently shoeless too, I love having barefeet! But as you say...not practical all the time ![]()
