Yea, but everyone else other than Dorian has some comment at some point of the conversation.

 

And I think it is the same conversation, just different branches. (the mortified or I don't care branch)

Agh I can't tell! I want it to be Solas so bad! But their voices are similar enough that a laugh can sound the same. The cough at the end makes me think it's Dorian.

Yeah, he's laughing in spite of himself, at the expense of himself and Iron Bull. Too bad! Solas did get a good zinger in there though.

Some very interesting theories in this post on reddit. I don't agree with all of them [I don't personally think Solas created the blight], but definitely some interesting thoughts! 

 

 

 

 This is just a mix compilation of thoughts from someone who desperately needs to re-read the codex and wait for inquisition entries to be added but:

 

- while I was playing the game I was really inclined to believe the old gods and elven gods link. I thought the old gods being the same number as elven gods – mythal + fen’harel too much of a coincidence. HOWEVER, if I’m not mistaken, doesn’t Solas say that they are not the same? (they can still be related, I suppose) 

 

- The Blight seems to me too much connected with ancient elven myth and to the fade as well. I remember back in origins that dalish getting it from an eluvian. 

 

- I think that the veil did not exist before and it may have been involved in separating the two worlds as a way to put the gods out of their power? (and that before everything sang the same); this is why I was so “????” at Solas saying he has never seen veilfire, why would he even lie about that? It’s not suspicious at all to know what it is. 

 

- If all this above is close to the truth then Solas did sort of accidently cause the blights but it’s more like: you planting daffodil and someone making poison out of that. It’s not really your ffault, you know? 

 

- But it would explain why Solas is so sure only he can fix it, since the problem would be MUCH deeper than just what happened to the elves, but also involve how spirits, mages, dwarves, and all of thedas with the blights are affected by his actions. And how potentially world-breaking they were. And why he desperately needs to take it back. 

 

But this is completely off the rails theories tbh. That’s why I keep saying I really need to re-read, I’m sure I broke the lore somewhere.

Yeah, he's an unconventional sort of attractive, but he's striking as hell.

 

The pre-release screenshots of him were odd, though. I think they changed his appearance a bit at some point? I recall him having a less angular face. And for the longest time the best promo screenshot we had of him was him looking inexplicably pissed off.

Yeah that's definitely Dorian laughing in that video! We hear Solas laugh a couple of times but it's never more than a chuckle. So composed all the time, sheesh.

My current playthrough with my female Dalish made me wonder if this shouldn't have been an option during the prologue...

Yes, I think Solas is very attractive. I love angular features, and Solas is like the epitome of angular features. XD Damn.

Well... my fiance does do that on the rare occasion, but I get him back for it sooner or later. muahaha I'm totally okay with it if its only once in a while and it doesn't hurt too much.

The funny thing is that he's the one that broke it off, but I moved on. He did not. He has a new girlfriend but he still frequently looks up my accounts online (even my WoW characters through a name I had only used once when with him and that he shouldn't remember unless he went through chatlogs) and complains to a mutual friend about anything I do. According to the friend the whole breakup thing is a bigger deal to him than I know, or care to know. That's what the initial (tasteless) joke was referencing xD

Yeah, well with context I understand the joke now.  I wouldn't say it's tasteless, since you're going off your own personal experience.  I joke about stuff I've gone through, too.  It's nice to be able to laugh at it sometimes.  I get it.  I just totally misunderstood what you meant.

 

And that's scary.  I don't want to pry into your personal stuff, but I hope you're safe from him (especially if he actually physically hurt or threatened you).

 

Anyway, yeah this thread is going at FTL (faster than light) speed, like they'd say in the Mass Effect threads.  I'm glad that Solas is getting much love.  If he's popular it means he'll come back... *hopes*

I headcanon that my Lavellan knits him a hat.  A stupid, orange striped hat with a pom pom on top because it makes her giggle.  He refuses to wear it where anyone can see, but he does put it on occasionally at night when his noggin gets chilly.

Bioware's evil like that. Besides someone in Scuttlebutt has confirmed Harbinger as a romance writer for Bioware. That explains a lot.
