To each his own! I'm just an "animal" person, though 2 cats and a very cat-like ferret reside in my home. I'm more hitting on the point at the moment that the elves don't seem to have captured the essence of the real Solas very well. Unless his personality during the entire game was just an act, it just doesn't line up with the stories. "They remember fragments of fragments, but that's more than most." ~Solas
Rocking back and forth and giggling? Sure, haha. /s
I'm interested to learn about the real Solas. What really happened all those years ago and why? Why was he slumbering for so long? Why was he weak? Why did he need the orb? Besides the much needed romance closure, there are a lot of unanswered questions. And I do so enjoy DA lore.
It is possible that his personality was different when he was younger. He probably expressed his emotions more easily and enjoyed playing pranks on people. Remember he used to be hot-blooded. But after he went through a lot of ****, he became the more solemn Solas that we know now.

There is so much bugginess about that quest that I can't take it seriously.
1. Solas claims he asks/begs you not to drink. That didn't happen.
2. No matter what your choice is, Solas will always ask what you intend to do with the well's power.
3. The glowing bit is always there too.
Finally, am I the only one a bit annoyed that every companion likes to pretend that they went on major quests with you regardless of whether you actually brought them. Especially the Halamshiral one.
Regarding your final point... I think technically for most quests, you do bring them all. Story-wise. Gameplay-wise, you're forced to only bring three at a time with you, but in the actual story they're technically all there all the time... kinda? Cause it's like... why would you limit yourself to just three of your inner circle coming with you everywhere? You wouldn't. Strength and safety in numbers, and all that.
Though for some quests, they do act like they weren't actually there. Like for the Here Lies the Abyss quest, a lot of the companions who weren't actually with you are like, "Thank the Maker I wasn't with you because I don't think I could have handled that." lol

I can definitely see that. I think Solas was an arrogant guy who used his intellect to run circles around those lesser than him. He embraced the lifestyle that the other elven gods created...until someone or something went too far. We can only speculate what that was, but it must have been quite severe.

My goodness, this thread...
Can't even keep caught up. Well done, everyone.
So... I have a question about the end in the
Spoiler
Spoiler
I can't recall if my character was glowing blue, but when I went through I recall Cole glowing and I was quite confused. I think it may be a graphics bug?
Also, here's a little something I made as a joke for a friend a while back and made it my laptop background. Figure you guys here might like it. :u

I find it interesting that wolves were seen as protectors in older (avvar) human legends. During the time of Dales and maybe even older wolves were also used by the military and as companions
Hmm. The Avvar were Alamarri tribesman, and Andraste was Alamarri.
Just putting that out there to further frustrate us all!

Yeah "Here Lies the Abyss" is the exception. I always forget to bring Cassandra with me. Not this time though. This time it's Cass, Solas, and Cole. I feel like those three would actually like going. Though I've heard that Cole isn't particularly happy.
Don't spoil it for me ... this is the last bit I feel like I don't know about the game.
It's the only quest, except for Mythal, that really feels like it changes based on who you bring along.
I died when I brought Bull.

"By not giving them even an optional frick frack snick snack cutscene, Bioware appears to have created the single most horniest group of fans I have ever seen. The amount of Solas smut out there, in comparison to what is available for the other LIs, is utterly colossal.
Way to blue ball your fans, Bioware."

He probably had something similar to that cute smile he had in the first kiss scene. Imagine a more smiley and chuckling Solas. So cute.

All the wolf stuff is a bit confusing. I mean, I know that's how Fen'Harel is depicted and all, but it's not like he's actually a wolf or would be inclined to run around and act like one. Ascribing behaviors and actions to Solas based on the mythical-ish interpretation of him is just odd to me. Especially knowing now how much of the story was wrong. We still don't have the full tale. Not gonna jump to conclusions until we have more info, personally. ![]()

Kreebby on Tumblr, made the most truest comment about the Solas fandom:

yeah, we go to smut land about half the times on here. Half theory, half smut.

I looked at the Bioware store 'cause it said there were new giclees in stock...I'm still waiting for Solas' romance card to be made into one. Seriously, I would be on that so fast I'd get dizzy.

Actually I would bet he has a huge wolf form. Just like Mythal turned into a dragon. I think they all had animal forms.

My redhead Lavellan was all
after Iron Bull told her that.
You know, a part of me was hoping they added some kind of flag for red hair so Iron Bull would comment specifically on the Inquisitor's hair. That would have been cool. I mean, they can have flags for gender and race, why not what hair color someone picks? They'd only have to add maybe five flags to cover all the bases for hair color. lol
(Then again, someone who picks the really dark red might get offended and be like, "WHAT? MY INQUISITOR'S HAIR IS AUBURN, HOW DARE YOU." or something. >_>)
