Seriously, we're not even a month into DA:I. We're in for some amazing art as more and more people play. 

 

Or just at the early phase of insanity and are going to completely lose our minds by the time any new Solas news comes out.

I, admittedly, thought quite a few of Cole's comments were talking about Solavellan, then I found out the majority of them are pop culture references. The ones that are about companions are pretty obvious, imo.

I think I have a new background for my desktop..

 

I thought it was about Mythal and Solas.  

I'm completely in denial that anything romantic was between them. It's slightly easier because I haven't actually finished the game yet.

 

Raging jealousy can happen when I find the time to actually finish it after exams. One more to go.

 

 

Though I do really like the idea of Flemythal taunting Solas about Lavellan post game.

Honestly, I sat down partway through the game and had a convo with my husband about how I was nearly sure Solas was more than he let on. That he was an ancient, immortal elf or something similar. Well, I was close. *shrugs* Also:

The only thing I like about the angry one is that he says he can't tell her he doesn't care. It makes me cry inside.

Think about this too (though this may be me grasping at straws): He tells Lavellan "I love you" in Elvish, the language he probably feels more of a connection with. In the beginning of the game, he tells Cass something like, "Why should I leave?/ I keep my commitments". Granted he made no commitment to your Lavellan, not outright, at least. But by telling her he loves her, and she's his heart, in Elvish, that's him commiting his heart/soul/feelings to her, even if he can't commit his presence to her.

 

His love for Lavellan doesn't seem to be one of a long fling, or even passing--he just has to "set" things right, and therefore can't commit to her outright because, well, danger,etc.

I think if she did mention Lavellan, she'd be reasonably kind and compassionate about it, while still laying down the uncomfortable truth.  Flemeth is many things, but I don't think she'd be deliberately mean-spirited to someone she considers an old friend.  

 

Flemeth: I met her, when she chased through the Eluvian after my daughter.  Wisdom and elegance in one so young is a rare thing.

Solas: *silence*

Flemeth: Are you going to turn your regret over her into another burden?  Can you even bear such a weight?

Solas: No.  But somehow, I must find a way to endure.  It...would have been easier if she despised me.

Flemeth: She might have, had you told her the truth.

Solas: I don't think so.  Hatred isn't in her nature.

Flemeth: Then you were a fool to walk away from her.

Solas: ...I know.

I sneezed and suddenly 20 New posts happened. Curse you guys and your enthusiasm

On the subject of happy endings: Before the game came out I posted in this thread that the death of Solas would be my fault. I'm still holding myself accountable if that comes to pass in any DLC. Aha. I don't do happy endings. I almost feel cheated if I reach an ending and nobody I like has died horribly. DA2 managed it, but then I destroyed that in DAI. Muahahaha! Hawke sounded like she hated Anders. She needed out of that relationship and I gave it to her. After everything that happened in ME3 I wanted Shepard to die as well. So I made that happen. And with this? I will bring death upon my Lavellan if I do not like the future they bring with Solas. Or I'll bring death upon Solas and bask in the sadness of it all. I want there to be tears. I want to feel feelings. I do not want fuzziness and sunsets.

This is probably why I'm not doing so well at romancing Cullen. Its all a bit too sweet. I need my inquisitor to die so I can watch him spiral into madness and despair. DESPAIR. Poor Cullen. I'll never stop being mean to that guy.

I should work in the business of collecting fan tears. I think I would enjoy it...

When you point it out as a KoTOR reference, it makes sense. But I must be the idiot who didn't realize Cole was making pop culture references he entire game.

 

If it isn't a reference, I do think its a little harsh to say he was their enemy the whole time tho.

Yeah, I didn't realize anything like that too So, you wouldn't be alone being an idiot.

 

Maybe he felt himself an enemy against the other Dalish elves, then he met her and she changed him. stuff like that

Waaaaaah that scene made me sad.  How can he dislike tea??? *this is my Chinese roots talking*.  No wonder he and I won't work out.

I read somewhere that he doesn't like tea because it's a stimulant.  It makes sense, but who knows?  What did the elves drink instead?
