It made me sad too! Solas don't you know tea drinking is an intellectual past time!?
Tea leaves in tea? Bleh too gritty. I like my tea bag to seep for a few minutes then add a little sugar, milk, or honey annnnd tah dah! A drink that actually makes me feel like I'm doing something good for my body(minus the sugar)

It was hard for me to take this scene seriously due to the fact that the tea cup was just floating around his hand rather then in it. I make loose-leaf tea in a special maker so I don't get the leaves in my drink, but I still get the lovely fresh taste. I find that, much the same with coffee, it can be an acquired taste.

 

But Solas just hates to be kept awake. I doubt he has ever drank it very much or tried different styles. We must dream and explore the Fade!

Agreed. There are no purely good gods amongst them as far as I can see, and half of them seem utterly petty. I feel like it wouldn't be odd to see one of them take after, say, Hera in terms of just how vengeful and utterly ruthless she could be.

I read somewhere that he doesn't like tea because it's a stimulant.  It makes sense, but who knows?  What did the elves drink instead?

That's a bit silly. Sure black tea has caffeine but chamomile, green tea, and mint are all very relaxing. I drink a mug of tea every might before I go to bed in the winter. It warms me up and helps me sleep.

I imagine his dislike for tea isn't because he's an elf X)

I love Mythal's imagery. The idea of a mother being both loving and downright vengeful is so perfect. My mom's like that: a nice person but get on her bad side and she'll burn your house down _{ok not that bad but she is really scarey.} I want them to come back because I'm curious as to what they look like and think it will give us a good cast of characters to oppose for the next couple of games. I want a moment where my Lavellan meets June and is like, "oh...I had your marks on mah face. I had dedicated my life to your worship but...then I met Fen'Harel lolz". Hilarity ensues.

 

And I wanna see Andruil - the one who tied up Solas. What kind of character would she be like?

I have "Take Me to Church" on my Solavellan playlist. I think of it as coming from Solas' perspective though, since he's the one with all the built-up regret. Also the idea of a 'god' worshiping Lavellan is..nice...

I just imagine somehow getting Solas to drink espresso without him knowing what it is and he hates you for making him so terribly awake and jittery for the next while.

You use a brewing basket with full tea leaves And you remove it when it's done steeping. Using a larger brewing basket allows for the leaves to unfurl completely, which is integral with high quality teas. 

There are other ways of brewing with full size tea leaves as well, like Gaiwans or Kyusu, but that's when you really get into it!

You should try brewing it for only a couple of minutes! Don't leave the teabag in, and consider buying better quality tea. It shouldn't be bitter at all!

Maybe that's why the Inquisitor wasn't given a more identifiable image on his mural. They snuck him something high in caffeine and that was as passive aggressive as he would allow himself to get without giving himself away.

My mother is mentally ill and very emotionally abusive.  As a matter of fact, when I first met Flemeth and Morrigan in DAO, I related to Morrigan so much it wasn't funny, especially after we see them in the Fade.  Even my husband said so, especially the whole front that Morrigan initially puts up.

 

It was strange to see the other side of Flemeth with Solas.

Well if you're magic you might as well use it for everyday mundane things!

OMG, now I'm imagining my semi-agnostic Lavellan meeting some of the elven gods and it's so awkward.

 

Lavellan:  Wow.  You guys actually exist.  I mean, I figured you must after meeting Mythal, but this is sort of weird.

Andruil: Did you really convince Fen'Harel to bed you?

Lavellan:  Solas?     Erm...yeah.

Andruil: How?  I had to tie him to a tree.

I have also read that he doesn't like stimulants because they keep you awake and he greatly values his sleepy trips to the Fade. However, he is only seen drinking the tea after
