I don't think that Bioware hates the Dalish at all, I doubt they would give the elves so much attention if they "hated" them. Nor would Flemeth be so involved with them as well.
Same. It's just that I see some posts on Tumblr from people who are absolutely enraged and convinced that Bioware had sinister intentions for showing us that the Dalish have been wrong all this time. Heck, I even saw one post that was basically a wall of text expressing their rage to an almost SJW level of rage (they're pretty much saying that Bioware was propagating oppression or something.... Don't ask me!
).
I, for one, find that twist that they've gotten "everything wrong" as some wonderful storytelling. I mean, I've always assumed that the Dalish must have gotten something wrong in their beliefs after losing so much of it -- or, in another theory, purposely changing things to be seen as more positive (i,e, the vallaslin) -- because there is always a question as to why they do things they way they do, or why exactly they believe in certain things when their Keepers can't provide them with all the answers.
I think the Dalish have the most focused attention of the Bioware story -- they have their own language that we see far more of than any of the other languages in Thedas.
I actually love that new twist on the Dalish history! It just makes everything so much more interesting! Especially since back in DA:O, some people complained that the Dalish origin was "boring" (I beg to differ).
I'm so happy that Bioware chose to add in a whole lot of lore in DA:I for the Dalish (and elves in general).
And their language is just so fascinating. Never before have I wanted to learn and understand elvish so badly! Heck, I could listen to Solas speak elvish aaaaalll day even if don't understand a lot of the language.
As an aside: there's a reason I rarely leave this thread. I've peeked about, seen the hate, and came right back for everyone who posts here.
This thread is our safe haven.
