I did it regardless of those two because the idea was just so exciting to me, not helped by the fact that I was playing a knowledge-loving elven Inquisitor who distrusted Morrigan somewhat and as a player, the fact that they let me take this very omnious choice was just too much. By the time, they were done warning me, I could have dived headfirst into the Well before Morrigan had time to get her scowl-frown on.

Yes. That's exactly what will happen.

I had this thought about the scenario in which Lavellan looks at this frightening lupine creature and recognises its eyes as Solas' in a heartfelt scene - but all I can think of is my Inquisitor staring at him and then doing this:

 

Lavellan: Oh my Mythal, that pelt would make a great pair of gloves for Cole! C'mon, let's murder this majestic bastard!

I wonder... It seems Mythal was key to keeping the peace amongst the gods and ensuring their feuds and squabbles were settled so I wonder if her murder was the catalyst to things becoming so bad that Fen'Harel saw no alternative than to seal his fellows away?

 

She is implied to have stopped Falon'Din when he went too far, she stopped Andruil when she went too far and I think she calmed Elgar'nan when he did so according to a codex in Origins.

Okay, if I were to have the choice to write the next dlc/expansion to wrap up the loose ends, this would be my choice.

So, Solas's goal is to open up the Eluvians and get all his old friends back while simultaneously merging reality back together with the Fade. He has Mythal in him as both have agreed on their mutual goal and now they are running with Mythal's plan and bolstered by her power. Cue running around causing some major havoc which the Inquisition quickly picks up on. There's lots of middle filler, quests, ancient relics to get a hold of. Quizzy is still not entirely sure who's behind everything but has gathered with intelligence and advisers (or with ancient well power) that it is the god Fen'harel. Whether Elf or otherwise, Quizzy obviously perplexed by this as you know, stories of him are hardly glowing.

 

Then half way through, both rushing to get to a destination first, Quizzy saves the day (obviously) and as she turns round, there he is. A long look, the sudden realisation. Both obviously devastated that they are now on opposing sides. Him begging her (or friend Quizzy) to not interfere, says how much he cares, how he has to do this. Begs them to walk away. Quizzy pleading for him to stop, saying they can't let him go through with this, they don't want to hurt him but they will if it's to save the world. (Or, if they didn't like each other, maybe some threats from each about how they'll destroy the other). Big event interrupts (if romanced, maybe just before he's about to tell her he still loves her?) and then when dealt with he's gone.

 

More quests, further research into the myths around the Elven gods. Quizzy finds out that it has something to do with the Eluvians and finds out that she can use her mark to open one and go through (ancient well told her). Gets to the place with all the mirrors and Solas is there, trying some spell to make his plan work. Again there's more pleading from both sides to reconsider (or threats depending) and eventually there is a boss fight with something Solas raises. By the time Quizzy and co beat this distraction Solas has completed his spell, but it hasn't worked. Solas confused and then Mythals voice is heard. The ritual isn't complete until Quizzy is sacrificed. The power that Quizzy holds is Fen'harel's own power that he used to lock away the Gods. The anchor is actually a key, that's why she could use it to open and shut fade rifts. It's also the only key that can open the mirror which holds the gods and will open the Fade. She needs to die for the plan to work.

 

Mythal has kept this from Solas. He is obviously absolutely devastated and furious at Mythal. He realises that she told the Quizzy everything she needed to know to get here just so that she can die. If the Quizzy drank from the well, Mythal will force her to walk to a position to be sacrificed in front of the mirror otherwise Morrigan will do it. Solas will fight against it but in the end Mythal will tell him that this is how it has to be and if he won't do it, she will. He will approach Quizzy. and If romanced, Quizzy will tell him to fight it, that the world is worth saving and that she loves him. He'll tell her how sorry he is and that he wishes he'd learnt from her and how much better she was than him. Then they'll kiss and he'll sacrifice himself to save her (will happen with friendship the same but without all love and smooches). The spell will end, they'll be gasped declarations. The Quizzy will tell him to hold on. The weird shiney light will disappear from his eyes as Mythal dies and Quizzy will clutch him to her. Then the scene will fade to black. Depending on choice throughout, the next scene is either Quizzy beside a grave with a Wolf headstone, before wandering off on her own or it's Solas waking up to find her in the chair beside him as he slept, wounded but alive. Quizzy reassures him that everything is all right, that he's forgiven and that they'll work together to make the world better (plus smoochies if romanced.).

 

Then the end scene is showing someone picking up a necklace near a statue. A few beats as they stare curiously at it and then their eyes take on a white glow. Mythal is still not gone!

 

Sorry for the length and the lack of pretty detail and construction. This is a complete mind dump.

There are a few places where an elven Inquisitor seems to have forgotten everything they know (or thought they knew). I wonder if it's just things they missed after adding the race? Or, since a lot of it is in the Temple of Mythal, if it's that they didn't have the budget to change every dialogue that should have been changed? Or maybe they just didn't care at that point.

 

But remember the demon stole her memories.. maybe he stole some more than what she recovered on her stroll on the fade

I did both and I think that Quizzy drinking from the well works better We get an extra quest and an extra scene and Morrigan doesn't get a fate worst than death (lol!)

What!? I don't know that I've encountered this banter yet, and my usual party is Blackwell, Cole, Solas, and my mage Lavellan. /:

I will at some point drink the well myself, but the words "bound" "serve" and "geas" completely freaks me out. I can't rp that just yet, maybe I'll make a human without the arcane perk... And perhaps romance Cullen for the fluff. Or a 4th elf? Where's the rehab for these kinds of addictions?

It's at about :24, when he's discussing the loss of Wisdom. It's in regards to the mages who twisted Wisdom into a pride demon.

 

Blackwall: I don't know what to say.

Solas: Nor will you, until you see ignorance snatch away everything that you love.

That sounds like something my Quizzy would do.

 

Honestly, the only things that kept me from doing it were 1)I knew Solas disapproves of it, and 2)Cole's reaction. He seems so genuinely scared for the Inquisitor. He tells you outright that you do not want those voices in your head.

 

Those were the main reasons I chose not to drink. The hard tone to Solas's voice, and the way Cole says "...you don't want that" was enough to convince her it was a bad idea, as much as she hated the thought of someone not an elf getting that power and knowledge. Then again, by that point I'm certain she felt there's always more to it than it seems, so better to be cautious.

 

I do plan to drink with my qunari mage though. I want to tame a dragon just once.

Me too. I really want to tame that dragon! I didn't have Cole with me when my Lavellan went, but I had him with me when Trevelyan went and Lavellan had Solas and between the two they made a very convincing argument for why it was a terrible idea. My Lavellan really hated the idea of giving up the Well though, she almost gave way to temptation. I still want to do it though... just once.

My Lavellan wanted to drink because she was tired of feeling like she knew nothing. In the final world state, she didn't but I totally tamed the dragon on my first playthrough. Worth it.

I pretty much always have my characters drink. I'm way too interested in the potential future drama to pass it up.
