Everytime I am an elf I drink from the well, it just seems incredibly dumb for a dalish elf to give what could essentially be the last hope of elven kind to a human.

I love this, so much.  Thank you.   <3

Aww thanks! I figured some kind of happy ending would be nice. Wouldn't have happened without all the Disney songs in this thread.  So thanks guys!

I pretty much always have my characters drink. I'm way too interested in the potential future drama to pass it up. :D

I have a save before it, so if it turns out to be more fun storywise to drink I can go back. There were things I liked more about drinking (having the knowledge, Solas's fit) and things I liked more about Morrigan drinking (the scene with Flemeth, not having the Inquisitor's will capable of being overcome by someone whose intentions she doesn't know).

Everytime I am an elf I drink from the well, it just seems incredibly dumb for a dalish elf to give what could essentially be the last hope of elven kind to a human.

I would argue that giving up your free will is also incredibly dumb. Especially in the position of power the Inquisitor is in. There are good reasons for drinking and good reasons for not drinking, so let's not be judgmental of other people.

I finally got a like back and it went to your fic.  <3

Found some lyrics which really suite Solas. https://soundcloud.c...ters-and#t=0:13

"In the land of Gods and Monsters
I was an Angel
Living in the garden of evil
Screwed up, scared, doing anything that I needed
Shining like a fiery beacon

You got that medicine I need
Fame, Liquor, Love give it to me slowly
Put your hands on my waist, do it softly
Me and God, we don't get along so now I sing

No one's gonna take my soul away."

Did she scoff? I seem to remember her being quite respectful, while still holding onto her faith. I believe her response to my Dalish saying she believed in her own gods was "and is there no room in your pantheon for one more?" That's quite tolerant, really. She isn't denying that your gods exist, only suggesting that perhaps your faiths are not incompatible.

I dunno, I dislike it when Cass is painted as some sort of zealot, because she really isn't. She's constantly questioning her own beliefs. That's why she and Solas get along so well.

Actually she is quite dismissive during the Temple of Mythal :( I played through it again last night with Cassandra in the party for the first time and was wishing there was an option to slap her at some points. It was really out of character for how open-minded she had been up until then.

I know this is a bad (and very meta) reason, but I'd choose to drink/not drink from the Well based on how it will affect Solas's romance in the future XD

That said, I didn't drink my first time around because I agreed with both Morrigan and Cassandra-- she was in a position of power and important to defeating Corypheus, so it seemed like too big of a risk to take.

Haha, that's the only thing that would make me re-think it, if it had a positive outcome relating to that...screw my canon, I'm making my story exactly as I want it! :D

I did both and I think that Quizzy drinking from the well works better :) We get an extra quest and an extra scene and Morrigan doesn't get a fate worst than death (lol!)

Also I get a kick out of seeing how bratty Morrigan is about you having the knowledge and not her. Heh. Payback for DA:O!!

She might have been that way because it shook up her own beliefs. Look at this! Ancient ruins, elf gods, ancient elves... all talking like the gods had been real before them. That's got to put a damper on any Andrastian's day. All they have is some written text and missing ashes.

But my Lavellan did give her a dirty look at the "rubbish" comment... <_<

My Lav didn't drink either, and in hindsight I'm not sure what I think the "best" option is. It's probably better for angst to have drank it! My Lavellan is super idealistic, and while she thought she might be a better option over Morrigan, my Lev ultimately saw the risk as not worth the possible reward. I do want a freaking dragon now though, so I will definitely drink it on one of my other playthroughs!!

Also, outside of the Lav character decision, I love Morrigan. I love her so much, and I wanted to see more evolution on her end, so I had her drink.

I think I might suck it up (giggle) and drink.. in my second PT just to upset Morrigan, I like her but...reasons, my inner Queen of Ferelden demands it..

That's a good point. I was playing a devout Trevelyan mage who knows she is the Herald of Andraste, but the PC was still like, 'Cassandra, show some respect! This is their place!'

I never took the threat of mythal seriously to be honest, I imagined I would become her champion or something (would you really waste the inquisior'a abilities on scrubbing floors), also first time round I assumed mythal was dead or just didn't care very much. And now that I know it is Flemeth and that she releases you almost instantly I'm not fussed about the consequences.

In saying that the well doesn't seem to give me the benefits I thought it would, elven language, secret to immortality etc.

I don't know but it had its own loading screen so I'm almost tempted to believe it might be a dlc location.

I think I'll just take a character through without either Solas or Cole in the party. (I need to get other mage banters in there anyway) so I don't chicken out. I usually end up committing to a playthrough instead of save scumming, so it might take me a little while to get back there.

Apparently you can also troll Morrigan by deliberately being confused by what the voices tell you. Which is pretty funny.

I tend to deliberately have my Solasmancing Lavellans drink partly because Solas dislikes it. I like to make a point of ensuring that my character remains an autonomous individual, even though she deeply respects the opinions of those around her (particularly Solas). I'd also like to think that having a person who is that close to Solas make choices that he dislikes and then coherently defend them (which the game usually lets you do, often with approval gain from Solas) when he protests could be the only way to make him challenge his own views of reality, which are sometimes almost uncharacteristically stagnant and mired in ideal and principle.

I'm actually going to have my devout character drink from the well herself, just because she isn't going to trust Morrigan at all, and doesn't believe the elven gods exist.

Really, most of the rest of my characters will probably end up drinking. Cos they want power or something.

(to daveyido96) To be fair, it seemed a bit ambiguous on whether or not Flemeth truely had released you from servitude or if she merely meant you had to take her word that she wouldn't start compelling you again.

It might be because I'm used to some flashy-shiny-color effect and she didn't use any.

I'm willing to bet they just used the environment so they didn't have to build a new one. But it's not actually supposed to be there, tho.

Could be wrong tho.

I just finished this. It's post-game Solas x Lavellan with some mild Abelas x Lavellan. I hope you enjoy!

Lingering in the Sun

I've just read this wonderful piece of art *_* I loved it to all tiny bits - all of those details, all that ancient elven glory - it all found a place in my heart *__* Thank you so much for sharing *__*

My first Lavellan didn't drink from the well. She was like "Yeah, you want it Morrigan, you can get it. I don't drink suspicious magical substances". Pretty much I see it like this: 20KIh.gif

But i think that my second Lavellan will be willing to bound herself to one elven god with wolfy features in every way she can
