I'm willing to bet they just used the environment so they didn't have to build a new one. But it's not actually supposed to be there, tho.

Could be wrong tho.

That would be a shame :(

The crossroads seemed more empty and barren in comparison. This looked like an location that was constructed entirely for this scene and does not appear elsewhere hence my belief it might be a DLC-location (Dang it! I believe it now!).

I never took the threat of mythal seriously to be honest, I imagined I would become her champion or something (would you really waste the inquisior'a abilities on scrubbing floors), also first time round I assumed mythal was dead or just didn't care very much. And now that I know it is Flemeth and that she releases you almost instantly I'm not fussed about the consequences.

In saying that the well doesn't seem to give me the benefits I thought it would, elven language, secret to immortality etc.

I didn't really interpret it as her releasing you, just saying she didn't have anything for you to do....yet.

I have to say, I really enjoy playing a temperamental, impulsive Lavellan. Usually on my first play through I do all the quests I can and makes sure to always pick the 'right' answers in conversations so all my companions will love me. This time around, I declined quests that it would feel out-of-character for her to do, and Vivienne and Sera both hates her guts. (The feeling is mutual... the three of them have a veritable hate-triangle going on.) That way, on my next playthrough there'll be a lot of new content I've missed.

Found some lyrics which really suite Solas. https://soundcloud.c...ters-and#t=0:13

"In the land of Gods and Monsters
I was an Angel
Living in the garden of evil
Screwed up, scared, doing anything that I needed
Shining like a fiery beacon

You got that medicine I need
Fame, Liquor, Love give it to me slowly
Put your hands on my waist, do it softly
Me and God, we don't get along so now I sing

No one's gonna take my soul away."

<3

I like the rest of the lyrics, myself. So damn dirty. :)

Her and Solas actually have a lot of disagreements. After I got a couple of "Solas disapproves" in a row he actually stopped calling me "Vhenan" when I went to see him, so I had to go and scout for some elven artifacts to make up for it XD

I usually make decisions that I can see my character making regardless of how my companions respond to them especially if it is a very serious matter. I might take their advice but they entrusted me with this leadership and so they have to trust me to make the best decision.

It's funny, the moment I absolutely decided to go for Solas' romance without doubt was the first time they discussed something - it was just so wonderful to see them either discuss, debate or bicker with each other and be able to concede points. The rest of the romance did nothing to deter me, far from it, but that realization was what really cemented what I loved most about the romance; the discussions. You don't have to agree with a person and share all their views to be friends or even in love with them.

As I am a lore freak, it was wonderful listening to his stories about the fade and its spirits, the past and the elves as well as his short tales such as the one about the qunari baker's small culinary rebellions and the dwarf emerging from the Deep Roads carrying a small rock but leaving it behind at the first sight of the sunlight.

The only reason i felt compelling enough not to drink from the Well as Lavellan is the fact that Solas wont drink from it himself when you ask in the actual conversation. So if its too dangerous for Mr. Elvhen...

To me it just looked like a reuse of assets. I watched the video and to me it didn't quite link up the way Lady Insanity made it out to. It seems more likely, in my opinion, that it was a unique place that'll either be visited in DLC or (hopefully not!) in DA4.

Haha, yeah.  And don't warn me or anything about why you won't drink it.  Cuz if I knew I wouldn't drink something because *reasons*, I'm definitely going to warn my fiancé and I certainly hope vice versa.

I want to point out that Flemeth does not release the Inquisitor from the price of the Well. She releases her hold over the Inquisitor after using them to stop Morrigan but not permanently. She says you aren't a servant and that she has no commands for you (not yet). She does, however, still have the power to subjugate the Inquisitor's will. That doesn't go away.

For me, it was Cole's dialogue about the Well, the voices trying to drown out your own and swallow your identity.  It reminds me too much of the pre-born abominations from Dune for comfort.

Though I can see why Solas wouldn't drink from it.  He knows Mythal is still out there, and he probably knows that she has to be his Plan B.  I wonder if the compulsion of the Well would work on Solas?  Can a god be bound to another god?

I drink EVERYTHING in Dragon Age. Alcohol, Darkspawn Blood, Avernus' weird potion, Well of Sorrows. Entirely possible that those are bad moves, but it is quite exciting.

I'm hoping for the most dramatic possible outcome in potential DLC, or maybe...

... maybe the leash can be pulled from both ends (as Vivienne so eloquently put it)?

Viv likes me too! And she is completely fabulous, darling. (She still won't sleep with me. Argh) I don't get the hate for her. I actually don't get any of the hate for any of the characters. I love them all (Even stupid Blackwall, despite his... Omission)

I don't know. The crossroads would make sense to me. I think it's going to be a location that'll play a big part in any future expansion/dlc due to the nature of it and it's link to all Eluvians and the ancient elves.

Oh and, new elf I've just made who I shall dub "pixie" from now on. Poor girl, she has no idea what's ahead of her and that baldy elf she's just met.

Solas is such an ass about his knowledge in the Temple. Him an Morrigan going about things and making Lavellan feel stupid. (specially a mage Lavellan who should know enough things to become Keeper).

It took awhile but I did eventually get Vivienne to like my Lavellan. I like that it wasn't easy but that it was possible. People can like and respect each other even if they don't agree. Vivienne certainly has her flaws, like the entire rest of the cast, but I adore her. I don't like that the devs didn't see fit to let the PC argue with her though. But my understanding is that Solas has the same problem - the PC can't argue intelligently with him about his views. He's just right.

I was surprised by how little problem I had with getting Vivienne to like me, it just seemed to.... happen. In fact,I somehow managed to end up on high terms with all of my companions even those I rarely brought with me. I just wish Dorian's personal quest hadn't bugged out on me so I never got it and that I'd known about Cullen's :(

I headcanon'd that Lavellan slept through the parts about Mythal. She was only interested in the gods she liked (June, Sylaise, Halla-lady), but they conveniently never talked about them >.>

I am seriously sad they didn't talk about June - he is my favorite!

I think both DA2 and DAI has done this well. In DAO, when you disagreed with a character they just wouldn't talk to you and you'd feel like you missed out on a lot of content. So naturally, I picked my answers carefully to make everyone agree with me, and my character felt like she didn't really have any opinions on her own. The same went for DA2, I didn't want to miss out on any content there either. Then, in my second play through of DA2, I was AMAZED to find that not only would companions continue to talk to me even if I disagreed with them, there would even be specific content and scenes that would only be available if you took a companion down a rival path! You could even romance them! And the Anders rivalmance is super hot!

That is what gives a game replayability. (That there's good, interesting content you'll miss by going one direction, not the Andersmance... well, that too.)

Correcting something from many pages back: someone said that when Mihris calls Solas a flat-ear and asks him if he can do it (raise the rocks out the way by magic) in the Hinterlands, that Solas said "Fear me, little child" in elvish when he replied. He didn't. He says "ma nuvenin, da'len" - as you wish, little child.

I think DA2 did a better job at it than DA:I did, though. Like, in my 2nd playthrough, I just got to Skyhold and already got Solas's "I hate you guts" conversation, and I can't say it doesn't make me concerned that I'm not going to get any conversations/quests from him for the rest of the game. And I've already gotten a bunch of conversations with Viv than I never got in my first playthrough.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but it almost seems like DA:i went back to how DA:O did it.

The rival content in DA2 is a lot of fun, though the only one I've ever done it with is Merril. I just... disagree with Merril very strongly, though I usually friend her like I do all my companions.

There is no real rivalry in DA:I as far as I am aware, there are just some characters who won't leave your party like Solas and Cassandra and some who will if their influence drops low enough like Varric and Cole. I'm not sure what the whole list is of who you can continually make angry but I don't think it's a long one.

I love Vivienne! She's smart, snarky, and has a very interesting point of view, about how people are just people. I love to bring her along, especially with Solas and Cassandra. Oh my god the sass. But my Lavellan and her got off to a bad start, and they can't stand each other :) she even declined her personal quest
