But I always work under the assumption that this is Solas, considering the lack of luscious locks and the fact this figure appears in at least two environment concept pieces.
I just really want a more intellectual, scholarly and - dare I say it - nerdy character as a LI for once! Brawny, muscular fighters and warriors are all well and good, but give me some sexy brains for a change
Here here! I think a scholarly and wise character would be quite nice. Though I hesitate to use those words as descriptors since they could be pinned to other existing Bioware characters. (I feel like Anders could be described as scholarly, but not necessarily wise.)

HAN SOLAS IS MY FAVORITE CROSSOVER PICTURE EVER. It's still one of my favorite fan-arts to this day. Bee gun... I love it. I may just draw more Han Solas just for my own amusement.

Am I the only one who thought he had bare arms in that climbing-the-snowy-mountain scene in one of the trailers? It didn't make sense to me, but maybe...?

It makes perfect sense. Solas is a boss of the highest degree. Ain't no cold going to keep him down! He looks cold in the face and smirks dryly! And maybe makes a witty comment that everyone else doesn't understand until later!
I personally have no problems with how people want to dress their character(s), but in my games, I do tend use what I call appropriate gear for the elements. In ME2, for example, I never used any of the squadmates that only had those "breather" masks, when going someplace with a hostile atmosphere. Garrus, Grunt, Thane, Mordin, and Tali were my go-to's for those type of missions. 
I have just been to check in the Fellowship of the Ring (book) because I recalled something being mentioned about the footwear of Legolas on Caradhras after the snowstorm. Sure enough it says that Legolas had no boots but always wore light shoes (trainers anyone?). So I apologise to Solas, all the really cool elves don't wear boots.

True about Legolas. But then he also didn't "sink" into the snow. Elves being lighter than a saltine cra-cker, apparently helps.

Okay, so, here's what my cracked out nerd brain just came up with.
I see folks running around with cutesy signatures about wanting so-and-so to be a love interest, etc. Which are... fun, I guess, although obviously we all know everything's already set in stone and that BioWare doesn't make LIs based on how many people tote a signature begging for it.
But it was still kind of funny to think about what a "please make him a LI" slogan for Solas might be.
And then my brain went into totally bad pun territory: "Solas... he's so dreamy! "
You know, because he sleeps all over the place to explore the Fade... so, lots of Fade dreams and stuff... um, and... yeah, I'm just gonna go sit over in the corner now and think about what I've done.

I really hope we can put boots on him. While endearing in its own way, Fenris' and Merrill's bare toes made me feel like a ruthless jerk, while running through the Darktown

Hm, I guess that trick that we did with replacing Solas' name in the website url at the character section on the site wouldn't work with "Scribbles" huh, darn..

You know, I feel silly now. It wasn't until I watched this again (first saw it in the E3 stream) that I noticed Solas just standing like a badass to the left of Cole (and his wonderful hat) at 1:53.
