Funny that this 'cadence' while talking has come up. My husband finally got to the first Solas scene where you go into the Fade. I, of course, had already seen this scene. I mentioned to him that the line:

 

"I watched the rifts expand and grow, resigned myself to flee, and then..."

 

sounds like it was written in verse metre. Like reading an epic poem. He laughed at me at the time, says I'm just ensorcelled with Solas--which I am--but there was some truth to it after all. It just flows, like a poem.

Yup, this is why all the Lavellan's are belong to him.. Solas stands under a mountain of underwear.  As a poet myself...yeah.

Since the topic of Solas and Sarah McLachlan came up in the same place:

I really, really love that Mr. Weekes listens to orchestral music when writing.  To me, lyricless music always touches me in a way that lyrics can't.

 

And I think that Solas' speech pattern is one of the reasons we love him so very much.  Our ears hear something that, even if we are not aware of it, connects to our very being.

I simply love the strong, unbrideled emotion in Hansard's voice in this piece. And I think the lyrics are very fitting for the last romance scene.

There should be a war table mission associated with your specialization and once it's done, they'll mention it when you speak to them. It was bugged for me though, so only one companion + Sera would respond no matter what specialization I had.

I've been thinking for weeks now about writing an Elvish lullaby (something old old old, handed down through generations) that Solas would sing to Lavellan as she slept- and putting it to a little music and performing it. 

 

I should just do it already but I'm not great with the translations.

Actually... thinking about it, the whole plot of "Once" kind of strangely reflects the relationship Lavellan and Solas have.

Especially the ending, since it is VERY evident that the two main characters of the movie have developed very strong feelings for each other, and that they found a soulmate in each other, but know in the end a relationship wouldn't work. And the ending is so perfect because it is immensly beautiful and still hurts so badly....

When I read that he listened to the OST of "Once" I just died a little inside. You guys have NO idea how much I love this music, I've listened to that soundtrack so many times I know the lyrics by heart.

Relistening the soundtrack now and grossly sobbing to myself because of the feels.

Thanks for posting this. I chose necromancy and was walkin around, talking to people. It didn't occur to me that my inquizzy buddies would have something to say, but, Sera, Cassie, and Blackwall brought it up and were like. "eghhhh, we don't really like," so I was feeling annoyed! Then I thought, "Solas will understand!!!" I ran around the keep "Solas Solas Solas guess what? Guess what?" and I found him in his room "Guess what specialization I took?" *Click* His response?

 

S - "Hello."

Me - "Wait, didn't you wanna know what I can do now?"

S- "Vhenan."

Me - "Yeah um, honey that's cute but guess what? I'm a NECROMANCER!" *wiggling fingers*

S - "Vhenan."

Me - "It's gonna go great with all that electricity I do right? Purple!! Purple everywhere!"

S - "My Heart."

Me - *"Ugh, fine" *runs off* "Vivvy Vivvy Vivvy guess what ? Guess what?" etc etc

 

I assume there must be a limit or something of how many companions will talk to you about your spec? Because no one else said anything after that.. Except.. Hmmm I think Cullen may have. That dude has a lot of lines in this game.
