This is totally applicable to Solas and Lavellan and you can't tell me otherwise.

Lol I am in the same boat. The personal price scared me..plus losing your will isnt a great idea. I saw a clip in which flemeth controls you like a ragdoll..I was like this Well is bad news.

 

My Lavellan got so pissed when she met Flemeth (though she didn't drink from the Well), she went on a tirade demanding that Mythal help the elves and Flemeth was like "you don't know what you're asking!" and she was all "well, why don't you explain it to me!". She didn't really regret not drinking from the well after that, but she came to the conclusion that the gods and even the past aren't really worth bothering with anymore as a source of answers.

 

It was a pretty heartbreaking moment. Abelas was one disappointment, but Flemythal... So sad. Then Solas broke up with her. It was pretty much a trauma congo line from start to finish and she walked away going "wow, and they say my people are dicks".

Yeah, and after Solas just ups and leaves... I was like, "Ok, I'm done", and stopped playing for a few days.  I haven't even gone back to my first character with the post-ending state after the credits.

Yes, you can continue to explore after you finish the game, but some quests are no longer available (companion quests/dialogue being the most noticeable).  Also, no Solas.  Way too depressing for me.

I think I'll have to forever title this playthrough as the Thedas of broken hearts. My romanced Alistair disappears in Weisshaupt. My Diplomatic Hawke talked about never getting over Anders betraying her but wanting to work past it, and then died in the Fade. Then post-game I talk to Dorian and he's saying he's going to go back to Tevinter and leave me.

Rufio will just leave on his own and go searching for his bro, who he is possibly bound to now. They can be lonely together </3

This is how I felt after my playthrough as a Trevelyan, he is going to go looking for Solas since he is too him an invaluable friend. Also, I think the friendship between Solas and any Trevelyan is rather important -though not as importance as the romance with a Lavellan- because, in his own words, you show him another aspect of humanity he had never considered/hoped that existed

I can't stand her , she's exactly the kind of person I would despise in reality, I can't get over that..I wish I could, I've never hated a companion before...ever.  It must say something good about the writing..right?

 

I don't know, I like Vivienne as a character and even in character I can respect her. If you are friendlier towards her and explore her dialog, it's not like she wants to oppress mages--her experience in the Circle was really all fluff and easy life (basically still a noble). So of course she doesn't really "get it", and honestly she has a point about how mages are playing with fire (i see what you did there). Personally I don't think the *idea* of Circles is wrong--as in, a place for mages to safely learn, and even the idea of Templars isn't terrible--it's the fact that it's such an easy iinstitution to corrupt in it's current state. Basically it needs more of a NEUTRAL 3rd party oversight (which is what the Chantry was supposed to be, I know, but how do you not get that it's a terrible idea to have religious zealots be the third party?)

 

Anyway, I guess I mean, I can see her points. She's just really haughty and sure of herself, which is why I think she rubs people the wrong way. Personally I think Sera's viewpoints and attitude are way more deplorable (you're a noble so you must be evil!)

Far more articulate people summed up my feelings on future Solas development. I think it's worth a read.

 

I agree really, I don't think Solas would be a good antagonist now, at least not in the usual sense. I can see it coming down to a chase, to having to maybe convince him to stop or rejoin you, but to be the actual antagonist? Eh... Pretty much this sums it up:

 

 

"but I think my primary reason is that I love, love love love a nuanced, morally-greyish but non-antagonistic treatment of the Trickster archetype, and I get annoyed when they end up being Sympathetic But Ultimately Misguided"

 

 

Edited to add: I mean I've seen this done to death, like with Loki in the Avengers. I think it'd be great if what Solas is trying to do really does end up being for the best. For example, if he's trying to free the elven gods because they somehow hold the key to curing the Blight. So what I'd love to see: your Inquisitor spends time hunting him down, thinking he probably has to be stopped. Maybe Leliana or Morrigan (or you, if you drank from the Well) finds info and can guess what he's trying to do. You think "No he must be stopped!" You finally catch up to him, he explains everything and you're like, "Well, damn, he's right!" Solas rejoins the party for final boss fight, credits roll, and lovey times ensue for Lavellan and Solas.

I thought the friendship ark was great! And again you just want more I wish you would run into companions talking to each other, banter style, in Skyhold. Just hanging out and being friends.  It seems important that they made friends because friendship is....
