I am 90% sure IB is available for sexing in some fashion based on a dev's tweet saying he's worth a romance run. Whether that's tied to a relationship or just a fling is yet to be determined.

 

I'm still hoping for Solas though.

Didn't the devs say a long time ago that you could pursue different kinds of romances with someone? Like, it could be a fling, or rivalry-based, or actually affectionate? Or am I crazy....

 

I still have hope for Solas being an LI (Iron Bull will almost certainly be race-gated, after all), but I won't be crushed if he's not. I'll just do what I did with Varric in DA2: keep him in my party at all times and pine for him from a distance.

Cullen - Bi/Straight

 

Cassandra - Bi/Straight

 

Sera - Lesbian

are all confimed LI. Are there other confirmed? Or who are people thinking will be LI's? I think Scribbles will be one (because she is the female advisor romance as Cullen is the male)

 

So there are tecnically just 4 confimed. I don't know guys, Solas seems pretty likely (I wouldn't start dancing in the street yet but hey)

I'm on board for IB as well so yay though I would prefer Solas, I will be happy with IB too!

Actually, the devs have said things like it's not going to be fair/even, and that the romances are all over the map.  Which is why I personally think all this speculation surrounding the Romance Fraction of Doom™ (2/2/2 or 2/4/2 or what have you) is a bit silly...  And i strongly suspect that because there are a lot more male companions than female this time around - it may well be that there are more romanceable males than females.  If I had to guess, and this is totally just random (almost) baseless speculation on my part it'll be:

 

Chicks: Sera (lesbian), Cass (bi), Vivienne (straight)

Dudes: Cullen (straight), Dorian (gay), Solas (bi), The Bull (bi, but fling-y and probably race-gated)

 

But it really comes down to... I have no idea 

 

Frankly, I'm not going to beat myself or anyone else up about it until we know for sure.  I do hope they'll reveal the bi options at GaymerX though... or accidentally reveal something at that QA thing tomorrow... that would be fun

I'm still skeptical about Vivienne being a LI. I don't think they'd want to make every female companion romanceable, but I could be wrong.

 

I hope I'm wrong, at least, because I automatically assume that the romance options will have symmetry and there will only be 6 LIs if Viv isn't one. But it's possible that it's not really "fair". It wasn't in DA2 and we had one more male romance than female.

Solas didn't come from the Circles, so other mages didn't call him that for lack of a different name.  The Dalish might have originated the name, if they thought maybe Solas was being dangerously proud mucking around in the Fade.

 

I kind of wonder, though, if something Solas did, due to overconfidence/pride, might have resulted in disaster/tragedy/general bad things for him.  It seems like tragic or traumatic pasts are almost mandatory for Bioware characters, with a handful of exceptions.  Anyway, after that event, he might have chosen to go by Solas to remind himself of his past pride so that he would never make the same mistake again.  Or something.

 

Or, he could just be from the town Solas.

 

Who knows?  Eager to learn more though.

XD I've been playing with the thought that he might have a Dalish parent who wanted to give him a name from the his/her language.

 

That could be the case, maybe he/she left the clan to run off with a city elf, and they worked on a farm together?

 

I'd guess most elves would be laborers, rather than landowners/farmers themselves.  Kind of sad, but with the oppression, it would be hard for them to gain ownership of any amount of land.  I doubt an entire elven village would even be allowed, it would come under suspicion.  Certain people would think the elves were gathering together like that to stir up trouble...

Im almost sure that Iron Bull will be available for male characters (every race) and female quanari while romance have race destriction.

 

Solas will be bi LI for every race.

Cassandra-male only/human-elf race only

Scribe Girl -BI for all races

Dorian-male only maybe without race destriction

Cullen-female only/all races but Quanari

Sera-female only all races
