Yeah, I think she's reached her limit for what can surprise her anymore. Maybe.
I think my Lavellan could still be surprised. Thedas is a huge and magical world. There's always something weird that can crop up.

So what do you think Solas likes to drink? I'm thinking warm milk 'cause it helps him sleep. Maybe halla milk. Is that a thing? ![]()
So who here is hoping for a bittersweet/tragic ending to the Solas story and who is hoping for a happy ending above all else? I want to get an idea of the percentage.
I want a together and alive ending. It doesn't have to be super happy woohoo (the cheering kind and the Sims kind), just together. Like how Morrigan and the Warden can be together, even if they aren't always physically together.
Aaaaaaaaaand...I just let Corypheus break Thedas because I suck at not dying.

Elk and other cervidae are milked by some cultures, so would not be surprised if halla can be as well. Even horses and camels are milked in some places around the world.
The Maker poofs down to Thedas for tea time, she just shrugs and asks him how much sugar he wants because why the hell not.
I could see that.
And she still wouldn't believe he was the Maker. At this point, maybe just on principle.

I guess I'm just wondering how they are going to resolve the him being immortal and her being mortal issue should they stay together. Seems like they either have to make him a mortal or elevate her to god-hood.

I know for a fact that he's quite fond of alcohol.
My Solavellan get-back-together song.
You know. For when they get their happily ever after. BECAUSE THAT'S HAPPENING.
dont judge me this song is gr8 shut up.
also, Mirrors because eluvians get it. GET IT.

What I'd like to see and what I expect to see are very different things. I'd like some kind of happy ending, I'm not sure what it would entail besides "no one is entirely miserable."
What I expect is that there is no way things can end happily for Solas.
I kinda feel like I need a happy ending here, haha. It's been a very bittersweet struggle; I think some happiness would do them both some good. But I am a hopeless romantic. *shrugs*
My hubby just sighed and rolled his eyes at this post. <.<

I'd actually be fine with them having little more than a spring-time romance in terms of his life span. Feels a bit more poignant to me that they're willing to go through with it in spite of her mortality or his immortality. Though I do hope there's an option either way, so people can choose what best fits them.
@Black City and the Blight
Maybe that's why the elves don't have immortality and magic anymore? Spell gone wrong, or the magisters interrupted a spell when entering the fade to visit it.
But here's a question. Cory clearly states it's the seat of the maker (And we all know he's crazy and got some things mixed up) but how did they know about it, or know what it was.
Yeah, I think she's reached her limit for what can surprise her anymore. Maybe.
I'm definitely going to make my Lavellan freak out when/if she finds out the truth, after being romantically involved with him and all. She isn't as cool and collected as a lot of other Lavellans apparently, lol. I always pick the "freak out"/emotional responses.

Nuuuu, I can't believe there is no way for him to be happy. *enter my hopelessly idealistic self* There are always choices to be made. /:
Hmm, I wonder if Bioware would consider fan desire for a happy ending or stick to their story direction no matter what. These days in Chinese drama they sometimes let the audience vote on whether they want a happy or sad ending. Seems a bit too much, but then I think I ultimately want a happy ending.

I would like them to just be together, happily. The man deserves some peace of mind and to live life without whatever burdens him now. Really, I'd like some sort of stupidly sappy happy ending, but at the end of the day I'd be fine so long as my Lavellan got an explanation, and Solas doesn't die alone. Oh, and, not having to kill him. I reaaally don't want to have to fight him. ![]()
What?! I could refill my supplies?! Why didn't you point that out, Solas?! You can sense elven artifacts, but you can't be bothered to sense potentially life saving potions and bees?
And I think things could end happily for Solas if he didn't completely brake the world and became a mortal elf so they could become a rocking chairs on the porch while holding hands couple, or Bioware could decide "hey, let's make elves immortal again hurrhurr."

Is the Black City suppose to be like hell? Breaking into the Black City releases the Devil? Something like that...
The Inquisitor did meet Mythal. What's one more Creator, right?
There's a difference between being introduced to someone and finding out in the introduction that they're an elven god (though I think Lavellan should have been a bit more shocked by that), and discovering that someone you fought with, traveled with, and potentially slept with is not only a god but the god you're supposed to not engage. Oops.
The Maker poofs down to Thedas for tea time, she just shrugs and asks him how much sugar he wants because why the hell not.
Plot twist: Maker falls in love with Lavellan. Love triangle ensues. Final boss battle is fought against the scorned lover.

I want a "happy for now" ending. I hope that either they resolve the immortality issue (either Solas' plans will restore elven immortality, or will cause him to lose his own), or they just don't bother with it. I'm OK with headcanoning in a solution. I don't really want them to bring up mortality difference if they're not going to solve it because it would be too final for me personally. I've said it a lot but, when I'm this invested I don't like tragedy. I love it from arm's length, but I'm super-attached to Quizzie and Solas and I want them to work.
Though...FFX was tragic and that was so good. But I wasn't expecting it either...now I'm guarding myself against potential tragedy and I think that would sully the effect? I might not be making sense.... Plus FFX-2 made it so they could get back together (because they deserved it). Anyway, I don't think BW shines on the hard ends of the spectrum. When they try to do anything too final it's always come off a bit hollow for me. I like when they leave things more open-ended.
I'm okay with bittersweet, happy, or completely devastating as long as it makes sense and is satisfying. ![]()

It's possible the Black City is actually Arlathan (Whoa, I spelt that right) the elves capital that was "sunk" by the Tevinters.
Indeed. Whatever mistakes the man has made, he deserves some real and (somewhat) lasting happiness. Gah, I just don't want BW to break my--I mean, Lavellan's heart again. ;<.<
Or Solas'. Especially Solas'.
RE: Happy Ending with Solas
I honestly wouldn't mind either way, I love both tragedy and fluff, but the most satisfying ending for me would be one of MY CHOICE.
Like, I could make choices in the game that dictate whether I get the good/happy ending, the well sh-t/tragic ending, or maybe a bit of both. Multiple outcomes sort of deal, makes everyone happy.
When you are given an outcome you have no say in (especially a tragic one in these sort of games) a lot of the times it gives you that feeling of "What's the point?" Which I would really like to avoid. Icky feeling.

Ohh I want this conversation
Solas: Now that you know who I am and what I plan to do, you understand why we can never be together.
Lavellan: Banal nadas Solas
