Same here. The two of us met in high school, and she actually introduced me to KOTOR 2. I was so head over heels for Atton Rand, it's not even funny. He was my first real video game love. Then I started playing CRPGs, and the rest is pretty much history. We've even commissioned art for each others' birthdays.
My boyfriend just laughs at us and shakes his head. I think as far as he's concerned, I may as well indulge my girliness in a video game that also includes demons, large ham villains, and punching dragons 
I'm waiting for PC mods and maybe a few more patches for stability before restarting my canon Lavellan. Also it hurts too much right now to start at the beginning where she and Solas first meet, and know how it's going to end.
Also, my canon Hawke dies in that playthrough. I will never be able to play DA2 again.
I might restart her yet again for mods and patches. But I missed her.

we met through DA2 fandom but met a couple of times in person too. She lives in Singapore so she comes to visit Australia sometimes to go to conventions! We played way too much ME3 mp together too haha
So, I romanced Solas on my second around. I loved Cullen's romance, and I was extremely glad that they finally made it possible for people who love him. However, Solas's romance was amazing. The fact that it is so flawed like many of the characters in DAI. I love it! I do hope for more DLC, but not just for the romance aspect of it, but for more information and character development for him.
I also have a theory. I think Arlathan is the black city in the fade and that Solas is possibly the maker in andrastian. I think this because he has pretty much turned away from everyone and even asks if he has miss judged them. Oh and when you talk to him about battles he has seen in the fade, he talks about savages that carried a tune better then the chantry could ever dream of. I think this references Andraste and her army, because I was reading some codex somewhere that talked about how they would sing as they marched into battle....I will have to look up all the info and post it later for references...Let me know what you guys think! Oh and I definitely think that the people he was talking about helping in his conversation with Flemeth was not the people of Thedas, but the other gods still locked away.

There are a couple theories going around about who he wants to help, I agree that it's more likely he wants to help the creators/ancient elves than anyone alive at present but he could very well have meant the current elves.

Hahaha, talking to my other half last night and he has been very supportive of my playing this game and completely crushing on Solas. He loves watching me play, shouting suggestions and chatting through the story. Much better than watching crap tv like the x-factor. I also think he's enjoying the side benefits of me getting all hot and bothered over Solas as he's my proverbial punch bag for "stress" relief. He said he's going to send the writer a present at Christmas.
Wasn't too impressed when I suggested that he'd look good with a shaved head. 
Maybe I can get him a bald cap...and some pointy ears...and rags. (Wanders off to look on ebay.)
I thought he would be this introverted nerd who everybody picked on for being odd, but he wouldn't fight back because he was confident and didn't have to justify himself. I didn't think he'd put people in their place or that his calmness and politeness was just a mask concealing the fire within. (I should've known with the spicy candy thing, but I had no idea how that would work itself out.) I thought we had to kill him at one point because of bogus spoilers people were putting on the internet and I was upset.

I really do wonder what Solas is thinking with this plan sometimes. It's not going to really help anyone and the "gods" were jerks. Unless it helps the Elvhen? There's too many questions/possibilities still. Give me DLC Bioware.
I had plan on romancing Cullen first but then thought he might be suffering from PSTD..lets take Solas the safer option.Introverted and intelligent. Well biggest mistake. He isnt safe..he is a freaking vortex who will suck you in DX who knew he will have even bigger issues than Anders himself
I avoided Anders drama in DA2 (I must have a thing for broody elves), romanced Alistair as Queen Cousland and found that very satisfying, so Solas and his tragic romance blindsided me so badly. Man.
