Even if they somehow manage to keep the boat from being sunk, Solas is not worried; They still have to decide who should row.
Edit: And fixed, thanks
This makes me wonder, no matter where the gods are trapped, how are they getting along having no one else to talk to, but each other.

You're not alone! I want a happy ending!!! I'm very hopeful that there will be a satisfying ending that allows Solavellan to stay together or separate, as the player decides. So we can have a happy or sad ending depending on how we want to RP it.
*clings desperately to optimism*
Yes. Hold on to that optimism! ![]()

Re: Happy ending.
So the way I see it we need to look at the facts as we know them. Solas is immortal, Lavellan is mortal.
I wouldn't care if they never even dealt with that. "Happy ending" for me = together and alive. Relative lifespan you can worry about later. Like Shepard's romance with Liara.

It's okay if Lavellan stays mortal, and they stay together for her lifetime. They don't need to have eternity to be happy and in love.
I know and that would be nice. But but Lavellan is his forever girl and Solas is so sad. They need to be together for foreveeeeeerrrrrr. Sorry I'm ok. I get sad.
But you're right.

3. Lavellan ascends to godhood (see Ghilli'nain). I really really don't want this cliche to happen. It just seems ... cheap.
Well, it could actually end up being epic if we get a whole new game/long expansion for this to happen. I think it would only be cheap if it was too easy or does not have enough plot details to make it make sense.

But at least now we know the Warden is actually looking for a cure for the calling, to extend their lives. And since I always romance Zev, he and the Warden are looking for a cure together...
Yeah, that was the silver lining in the sadfest of my canon pairings. I was happy to see my Warden and Zev were still together.

It'd also only be possible for a female elf, so I don't see that happening in a million years.

Hope is good. But I actually do see them potentially doing a "together and alive" ending. Or at least offering the possibility of one. That's probably where all my optimism is coming from.
Immortality, on the other hand, is a bit to far-fetched to believe in.

I was referencing
Spoiler
I wondered if that might be the case. One of Cole's random greeting dialogues is "It's made out of people" and for a long time I thought it was referencing red lyrium...
As for on-topic discussion, I think if the devs were going to add a "be immortal with Solas forever" option, it wouldn't be too hard to find some way to implement that option for other races. Because magic, right? That being said, I do think it would be very... touching if Solas gave up his immortality to be with a female Lavellan. I think my "what-if" fantasy mind would prefer the immortal route, though. ![]()

I can see a DLC in which you have to talk Solas out of his plans through either the means of violence, words or deception with an added edged in your favor if you romanced him.
A bonus would be if you end up having to work together because something went wrong with his plans yet again and you end up having party banter in which his secret is known.

If I'm being completely and truly honest and you are peering into my inner thoughts?
...
I've been saying for a long time that any of the Quizzies are a half step away from being a god. It gets brought up constantly in game that the mark is a possible key to godhood. And, besides that, what is a god? Solas seems to define a god by the power they wield and the quizzy holds not only political power and military power, but power over the hearts of the people. Not only in Kirkwall, like Hawke, and not only in Fereldan, like the Warden, but people across Thedas. Hell even in Tevinter to an extent with all of those wartable missions.
So ... maybe? And it would be setup nicely for any quizzy not just the fem/elf. She would just get the best perks. ![]()
I do not think this will happen, but the groundwork has been laid already.

Do you read any urban fantasy romance? (Like Nalini Singh?) I love the endings for characters in those stories. The characters struggle, but everything always works out and it's all sunshine and rainbows by the end. The love interests of immortal characters always get their lives extended so they can be together forever and ever. Love that.
But Dragon Age is a darker world, and I've come to expect more suffering and less happiness for the PC. I love the emotional roller coaster these games put me through, but only when there's a satisfying end. Thane's romance killed me, with the way his death was basically ignored in ME3.

Only female elves can romance him.
If becoming immortal or a "god" means Solas doesn't have to die alone, sure. But seriously, if it's just something that means they can stay together, I don't have a problem with it. Only a female Cousland could marry Alistair and become queen, and only a male Warden who romanced Morrigan could follow her through the eluvian. Some choices aren't available to everyone because of plot reasons.
At least we Zevmancers finally get something, yes?
Yeah, after hearing Zev wasn't going to appear in the game, I was pretty disappointed. Turned out he had one of the better romance outcomes.

But isn't being immortal and ancient and all that fuss the thing that he is - among other things - is so proud of? Like he distinguishes himself and the good old times again and again from "modern times" elves - Dalish and city elves alike.
Wouldn't giving up immortality mean that he is giving up one of the defining things linking him to the past? I'm not sure my quizzy would want that for him...

Especially after the outcome of Leliana becoming the Divine even after swearing she'd return to the Warden's side once the Inquisition had done it's dues... I have one unhappy warden in my head right now... ):

That could work. IIRC there's a similar situation in ME3 with Kaidan/Ashley during the coup on the Citadel. There were "points" that added up that would allow you to gain their trust and talk them down. Having romanced them added more points to how much they'd trust Shepard.

I know and I love it. I batter that man more than any other LI in any Bioware game. I could never have played through "let's be mean to Garrus" in ME, but I find angry Solas fascinating and it makes his personality make more sense.

My mistress!Warden seems to be having the happiest ending so far out of all of mine. At least she doesn't have to worry about losing her love in some way. Though, in hindsight, she should have gone for Zevran.

I hated what happened to Thane...I never finished the game with my Shepard that romanced him. I think Lavellan and Solas deserve a happy ending too the rest got one at the end of the game, also they had someone by their side on the balcony while ours is standing there all alone at the end. :/
Like I've mentioned before it's not over between Lavellan and Solas....not yet. ![]()
And yaay I'm glad I'm not alone on wanting a happy ending. ![]()
