It's really interesting playing through a second time knowing who Solas is. I might have to revise my sweetness-and-light romanced opinion of him slightly. I'm sure this stuff is really obvious to everyone now, but I feel better writing it down, so please humor me!

 

After Haven:

Solas tells the Inquis he is concerned about Cory's orb being elven. I thought he was being oddly sensitive about it the first time around, but now I think he realized full well that people might put two and two together and link the strange elven artifact with the strange elven apostate and start asking questions.

 

So... voila, here's Skyhold! Does it help the Inquisition? Absolutely, but it also keeps everyone's attention busy (and off him). He tells the Inquisitor to scout to the north and act as a guide, so I think it's quite possible that the majority of people believe the Herald led them to Skyhold due to divine knowledge from Andraste, not Solas.

 

When the Inquisitor asks to know more about him:

I think that's part of the reason why romanced Solas is a bit rattled when you talk to him afterwards: "I am not often thrown by things that happen in dreams". He expected to be fully in control of the entire encounter, gently misdirecting you away from any real knowledge about himself, and then the Inquisitor took him off guard with that kiss.

 

He just sounds so sincere with his comments:

It's hard to know when he's not telling the whole truth. I'm suspicious now about the time Solas spent studying the Inquisitor's mark. He had to have known what it was. I wonder if he was trying to find a way to remove it, like Cory, and also realized it was permanent. Or he made it permanent? Eh, that probably wouldn't make sense.

If the rogue-animations weren't so awkward in Dragon Age Inquisition I'd roll a rogue Lavellan for that flirt-line alone.

But I'm still mourning the awesome rogue-moves from DA2 that got shelved in favour of that awkward "POKE POKE POKE POKE POKE" - shuffle we get in Inquisition

Fen'Harel and the god of rebellion, I'm wondering whether or not the bluelasertattooremovalspell is just a cosmetic one or whether or not it could release you from service to another God... I know Solas says that nobles marked their slaves with markings of the Gods they favor but since magic was naturally woven with elven society.. It;s always possible that certain kinds of blood magic were involved.

This actually makes sense, because of all of the howling after you kill the demon.  And Solas' comment of "The wolves will appreciate it too."  I just wish the stats on the necklace had been nice enough to get me to put it on right away.

That explains why the Hinterland wolves helped fight at this one rift. Too bad it doesn't work in other places. I dislike killing wolves less than I dislike killing nugs and fennecs (which I have never done on purpose) and the wolves make me.

Mage is fun, but you're stuck on one spot while casting? Or maybe not? Never got that far with a mage. Warrior is way too much movement, I get seasick. But seasick while feeling like a boss.

You're stuck in one spot while casting, true, but Fade Step is amazing fun. Short-range teleport with a cool misty effect! And if you upgrade it you freeze people if you teleport through them. Which I never get tired of doing.

I need to continue my mage Levellan then. Like I needed another excuse to do that. To keep with the topic, as a Levellan everything Solas said felt flirty. With my human he just comes off as friendly (and a little weird and pompous). Strange how those flirts affect the tone of his character.

I normally play rogue ( dualwield, tempest)  but mage can be suprisingly rogue-like if you invest in the right spells!

I was told by my sister (who plays a mage Lavellan) that being a mage is so much fun. I should really try that. Though I admit, I just love being an archer!

 

I'm currently playing a 2-handed warrior male Trevelyan and I'm not really feeling it. I miss fighting in long range. Maybe I should make a male Lavellan mage (because I love playing an elf and wanna play a male playthrough and romance Cassandra) or a female mage Trevelyan for a Cullen romance.

It made me sad when he finally said he had no more Fade stories to share.  I could've listened to him talk about that forever   Obviously people have different tastes but I thought his voice was so wonderfully done that I was shocked to learn that some people didn't like it.  This probably isn't something I should admit but I'm pretty sure his voice literally made my mouth water at some points

People not liking Solas' voice... how does that even work. He makes picking up random **** in the Hinterlands sound sexy.

Also, mage 4eva- I eventually got used to my archer's gameplay, but messing with primal forces and people's heads is too much fun.

I like his voice too, think i like pretty much everything about him as a character, it's very well made
