Can we get DLC to find him?

 

I really do hope so.  It would be much more meaningful to have the Inquisitor, who has a past with him (good or bad), to follow up on this big reveal instead of some new protagonist.

I think his best facial expression - a small private smile - comes up when you're talking about the power of the Well and the Inquisitor says she'd use it to change the world for the better. And, of course, she sounds just like his younger self.

That pre-vallaslin scene is my favorite Solas conversation in the whole blasted game.   It exposes the raw nerve of who he is, who he was, and what he wants more directly and poignantly than anything else.

 

My canon playthrough:

 

Solas: "What will you do with the power of the well once Corypheus is dead?"

Lavellan:  "The war proved that we can't go back to the way things were.  I'll try to help this world move forward."

Solas: (confrontational)  "You would risk everything you have in the hope that the future will be better.  And what if it isn't.  What if you wake up to find that the future you shaped is worse than what was?"

Lavellan:  "I'll take a breath, see where things went wrong, and try again."

Solas:  "Just like that."

Lavellan:  "If we don't keep trying, then we'll never get it right."

Solas: (pause, small introspective smile)  "....you are right.  Thank you."

Lavellan:  "For what?"

Solas:  "You have not been what I expected, Inquisitor.  You have... impressed me.  You have offered hope that if one keeps trying, even if the consequences are grave, things will be better."

So, Solas break up scene question:
I read what the FAC said about the angry/angry break up response and I also went and wikied the translation right away, but that still leaves the response to be taken two different ways, right?
I mean your Lavellan can be saying "You were never my heart, we never meant anything!" or "I was never your heart, I never meant anything to you!" (or a mix of the two). What did you guys take from it? I guess it's all up to how you want to interpret it and from what I've seen angry/angry response isn't that popular. :-/

Anywho, non Solas questions that relates to Alistair.

So I heard that Warden Alistair can meet is son. I've looked everywhere for a video. Can anyone confirm the meeting and/or know where to find the video?
Also, I never did a play through where romanced Alistair broke up with me (he died for Amell and married Cousland) but I know that he did break up with love interests if he's made king and not persuaded to marry Cousland. His reasoning being he needs to eventually get married and produce and heir for the throne. My question is whether or not Alistair did get married and have a kid in these world states? I would (if he had broken up with me) be really po'd if he was still a bachelor after all these years when he had broken up with my Warden. I assume he and Anora never had children since it was alluded to that she was infertile.

I actually agree with FAQ that she's saying, "You're not sorry! You have no heart!" Basically, I think she's talking about him not herself there.

There's apparently dialogue for it in the game but I haven't seen it happen or a video of it happening. I don't think it's answered anywhere if Alistair marries and has children when he's made king alone either.

Although I think that the angry version is quite realistic. Imagine a huge part of your culture/beliefs is ripped to shreds by the man you love who then moments later breaks up with you. It's all a bit much to handle. Honestly I feel all the versions are realistic stages of a break up: denial, anger, desperation.

Oh, I use the save video feature on the PS4. That's probably not much help if you're playing on PC, sorry

I think what they are leading up to is the fact that the "Maker" that the Chantry follows isn't the true "maker", as in, the force that created the world.  That force is the "maker" that they will never reveal, because... well, that's impossible, unless you want to get into lame creation stories (I'm looking at you EQ2).

Thanks! Concentrating all the best Solas moments into a few minutes was a fun project. Playing through the game might feel a bit anti-climatic for me now heh.

 

For capturing video content I used fraps. I would recommend it. Or if you have a newer generation nvidia graphics card you can use shadowplay.

Kinda... even creepier than what he says to an elf Inquisitor, which is:

"No. Your blood is very old. I saw it right away."

 

EDIT: *sighhh*... Now I gotta make my billionth Inquisitor and have her be a dwarf this time so I can see what OGB Kieran says to a dwarf. Can't find any youtube videos of it. :'(

I'd have a hard time believing that since he says similar to non-elves on the balcony scene, doesn't he? I guess that isn't entirely beyond possibility for soul-hopping or whatever, but I just don't see it with what we know at this time.

What I've gathered is you need to get Morrigan and Alistair in the same place at the same time.  Alistair first by finding the warden then do the winter ball.  (I think that's the order) and go to the garden.

Whenever I go see him all he has is one line about how I've wounded Corphyeus' pride and how he has to continue with his plans. This line never clears from the wheel.

Did I do something wrong, not trigger something, or is this a glitch? How do I get back on track with him?

Same, that was the first and last time I did that but I accidentally had a world state with the one Alistair/Warden playthrough that I´m attached to so yeah Although I didn´t get the Varric hug

Have you flirted with Blackwall at all? After the fade kiss you should be able to jump right into the next conversation with Solas from what I have seen.

It may be a bug. That conversation should trigger regardless of race/gender.  It may be entirely based on approval levels, though.  Unsure.  The Corypheus line should never clear.

Alistait meets his kid, we extracted the dialog from the game files. There is a picture of the dialog we extracted on my blog (link below) or look for the tag game mods, Dragon Age Inquisition

As soon as I got to Skyhold I went to the Fade with Solas, right after that his quest began for me. It could be that you flirted too much with another character, I noticed on my second playthrough that flirting with Solas after the first cutscene in Skyhold cut off my ability to flirt with Cullen.
