A reason I think the first kiss works even for a shy or not so forward Lavellan, is because it's in a dream. As Solas says, some things are easier in a dream. Even if she didn't know she was in a dream at the time, it may have been easier to act on her impulses.
I love how she tries to flee afterwards too. One can read it as being embarrassed and shy about what she's done, or deliberately coy and an extension of the flirtation.
Does anyone have before/after images regarding the vallaslin removal? I just did "the scene" this past weekend and I'm trying to get used to my Lavellan's brand-new face.

I thought the Solas flirts were pretty well balanced, since the earliest ones weren't (to me) romantically forward, but more in line with expressing you have his back and are interested/amused in his passionate views. Preliminary flirting, I like to call it. By the time the first kiss comes around it might seem a bit fast, but for context: Josephine states in her first romance scene in Skyhold that "we've only known each other for a few months" so we can infer that Haven--->Skyhold = 2 to 3 months. Considering the amount of trekking you can do across the Hinterlands alone I think this is reasonable. And I don't know about you, but if I'm interested in a person they'll know about it within that time frame for sure.
Getting used to my Lavellan's face without vallaslin was hard at first and hers were tiny and quite light, so I can only imagine how tough it was for you! Yours is beautiful and I love her scars

Edit: I perfected my new Lavellan's face with invisible vallaslin and then added some on at the end so I could be sure I'd like it later.
I put the scars on her during the CC. I knew beforehand about the removal option, so I didn't want to leave her face 100% bare when they were removed. I even chose one of the more dramatic vallaslin options to make it more severe of a change...but now I'm struggling to get used to it, haha!
Thanks, I love her face! I'm super sad about no New Game+ options, because I'm going to want to replay this character to perfect it eventually and I know I'll be unable to recreate her.
They've mentioned they're looking into an Emporium and/or face codes (a la Mass Effect). One of the reasons I haven't done my canon Lavellan (in addition to not having a patch on the XB1!!!!) is because I can't get the face right and I'm hoping they'll release an editor as DLC soonish. It'll probably be in January though given the holidays.

Yeah, everything about that scene is lovely.

One of the reasons I haven't done my canon Lavellan (in addition to not having a patch on the XB1!!!!) is because I can't get the face right and I'm hoping they'll release an editor as DLC soonish. It'll probably be in January though given the holidays.
I hope these face codes are retroactive for our current Quizzies! /jumps up & down/

That scene felt a little weird to me as I made my tattoos invisible. I pretty much forgot I had any tattoos so it was slightly amusing to me.

I read it as her interpreting his lack of follow-up as rejection and being utterly mortified ("Oh, creators, what did I just do?!" *runs*)
My poor Lavellan was working with a much more difficult man xD hints weren't enough, she had to grab that face and go.
Ha! I know what you mean. But my Lavellan had been crushing on him for months at that point and figured that nothing was ever going to happen unless she made it happen. And things are easier in dreams, after all.

I'm pretty excited about an Emporium DLC for DA: I. I have it all planned out on how I'm going to change her hair and possibly add makeup after the ending (which is kind of a lame thing to be excited about, but...). I'd like for my Lavellan to look different if/when she sees Solas again in any post-ending DLC, just to show externally how much she has changed and grown.

I think I"m going to work on her CC tonight and she's got to be perfect, but naming is the hardest. Do you guys just come up with names out of thin air or do you use a generator or website?
You've already gotten lots of answers, but I like using http://www.behindthename.com/random/ .I input the Inquisitor's last name, choose male/female/ambiguous, and then for Lavellans, I tick off Scottish, Irish, and Welsh. I open any name that fits nicely with the Inquisitor's last name in a new window, and check the definitions later to see which fits best with the kind of Inquisitor I'm trying to make.
The last time I named a character off the top of my head was my first Inquisitor, and I named her Fiona. You can imagine how awkward it felt when I ran into Fiona in-game. Especially since my Fiona was an elf mage. lol

Someone used the flycam during that scene and HE TOTALLY TOUCHED THE BOOB. (I can't help but imagine the "He touched the butt!" scene from Finding Nemo every time I say that.)

I feel like the DAI CC is the best we've seen from Bioware thus far, so I give them massive props for that. My only issue besides the lack of face codes is the makeup hues...in my experience the color on my PC's face often does not reflect the color I'm highlighting on the palette. It goes from nothing to WOAH JEEZUS real fast.

Hardly. I changed my Hawke's hair and makeup (sometimes even little tweaks to the facial sliders) in between Acts in DA2 to show the passage of time. I don't have a problem, no sir, not me. *whistles*

Solas has a similar effect on my feelz as Anders. I love the guy, I really do, and he's so sweet and empathetic and thoughtful. And practically bleeds approval for a kind quizzy.
He's also a selfish brat who carries around way more guilt than is healthy and keeps too many dangerous secrets. I swing between wanting to hug him and wanting to punch him through a window. IMO that's the mark of a really compelling character, one who can inspire such extremes of emotion.

Yes, he's certainly Mr. "Freedom of choice is the most important thing one can have, and should be given to everyone" *proceeds to make choices for everyone*.
I love his entire complexity, and am super afraid for the future and what will mean to his character. He did seem open to change, though. Sometimes. Under pressure.
