Maybe but I don't believe that but if that is true than I still think Solas is possible to be an LI cause I don't see Blackwall,Varric or Vivienne as an LI...but we will have to wait and see of course. 

 

Like I said I'm being optimistic until it is confirmed that he is not an LI.

We know there's going to be 8 LIs.  Two of them are race gated for reasons.  One of them isn't among the companions/advisors.  (Myssstterrryyyy)

 

Cass - straight LI

Cullen - straight LI

 

Dorian - gay LI

Sera - lesbian LI

 

Josie - bi LI

These are our confirmed folks.  So there's still three, and one of those is outside of companions/advisors.

 

I think it's very likely that Iron Bull is going to be one of the bi LIs, and probably one of the race gated ones.

 

So...  Okay.  Solas probably has good odds.

Whoops, despite my manly icon and forum name I'm just a desperate madame yearning for a mage man (or warrior woman, but oh well) I've got a nice manQuisitor planned for Dorian but I'd prefer it if my mage femQuisitor could nerd it up with Solas, which might help her ease the pain of pining for Cassandra.

 

TLDR: Getting attached to characters pre-release isn't working out for me

That gave me a good chuckle (I'd never heard vajaybelay before!)   I wasn't able to follow much today because I was out and about so here's my majorly belated squee over Sumalee Montano as an Inquisitor VA.  The iffiness of the LI situation and the awkward lack of Solas info had me feeling unhappy but I love her as Arcee in Transformers Prime so that cheers me up a bit.

Sunalee Montano also voiced the female Turian character in the Mass Effect Omega DLC. Pretty cool! Since I wasn't really a fan of femHawke's voice it'll be nice to potentially have two really great female voices to pick from. Also, I really hope they announce the remaining LIs soon (as in actually soon, vs. the nebulous 'soon' the devs like to throw out there that could mean anything). I'm still optimistic, for now, but if my hopes are going to be dashed I prefer it to be sooner rather than later.

Absolutely! He sounds like such a great character - I bet I'll love him regardless of whether I can (or opt to) romance him. More than anything, I hope I get to geek out over history and Fade lore with him.

I just really don't want the only romance option in our actual party for straight females to be the Iron Bull. He seems swell and all, but I absolutely do not see the physical or romantic appeal to him at all . I get that he's a niche LI and will appeal to some players, but I just don't like to romance promiscuous characters and it will upset me if he is the only romanceable party member for me. Cullen is attractive, sure, but I just don't feel as though the advisor romances will feel as fleshed out, regardless of the amount of dialogue and/or interactions that you can possibly have with them, just because you can't adventure with them and take them on quests with you.

 

So, if Iron Bull is the only companion option for straight females...I dunno what I'll do . If there is another male LI companion and it turns out to be Blackwall, well that also is kinda lame, because - putting aside the tragic doomed romance that I really don't want to see again - he is yet again another burly large, manly, muscular guy...and tbh I'm just not attracted to that. Like I said before I want something different in a male LI, I want smarts and brains and someone less bulky and masculine.

 

So....fingers crossed for Solas as a LI...pretty please?

Wow wow wow, with all this information I should be happy, but I can't help but feel sad. Especially with how low the mood is going here.
(I think it's just hormonal or something, that or I've been reduced to a 5 year old who is crabby, hot, and wants to pass out anywhere right now) 

I'm happy to hear about the female voice actress though! I think she will be lovely for my fem!qun!quizzy.

And Josephine, I think another play-through is on my horizon for her.

I really, really don't want Iron Bull to be the only bi option from the party, because I don't find anything at all romantically appealing about him. There's already Dorian and I love him, but I would be soooooo happy to get Solas for the second character I have planned. They would be such a perfect fit. Solas has been easily my second favorite (a close second, even, which I never thought would happen when I first saw him) since they released his writer profile. What's been said about him is just so perfect. I really adore Solas for what we know about his personality and I know better than to get attached, but I'll be really disappointed if he's not an LI. In a way, I was a little nervous to see Cullen confirmed as straight, because he was my #3 choice backup, but it's totally worth it if Solas is bi. With 8 confirmed LIs it's so close! Come on, Solas, LOOOOOVE MEEEEEEEE!

I think Solas and Cole will end up in my party pretty constantly, whether he's an LI or not. That they get along so well just cements that. I've loved Cole since before he was even confirmed and was pulling for him to come through after the survey leak, and Solas has an outlook that's more interesting to me than any other companion. I just want to take him everywhere and hear his opinion on everything. lol

We need a fallback. If Solas isn't romanceable, what do we do?

 

Everyone must design a special playthrough that is Solas-heavy (e.g. bring him along everywhere) and we shall all play it synonymously, while drowning our sorrows in whichever indulgence of choice.

I know I'm already setting myself up for trouble attempting to romance him with a female qunari Inquisitor. (That's my dream scenario btw) But if he's race gated I think he'd be the one open to dwarves and elves mainly. I'll honestly break out the first dwarven play through ever for him.

And oh my gosh, as much as I love you all I think I'll be missing once Dragon Age Inquisition comes out. It'll be like 'do I go on the forums and potentially spoil myself? Or do I just hunker down and play the game?'
