Yeessss.
Yeessss.
Apparently there's a way to make armor show in Skyhold instead of the pj's with CheatEngine, but I can't figure out for the life of me how to do it. ![]()

@ Prince of Keys: Silly people, they simply haven't experienced the magic that is Solas.
Heh. I don't see him as the type, but he doesn't deny it when Sera asks if he "fancies" Lavellan as well.
I think it's just him being Mr. Socratic method again. He's curious about Sera's position, so he's taking a position that's designed to draw her out and answer his questions. I think he's deliberately making it an elf thing to poke at her.
My headcanon is that he has a thing for a friendshipped female Lavellan whether you pursue the romance or not. Which...means I can't make a Lavellan that romances anybody else now.
The idea of Solas silently loving the Inquisitor while she pursues someone else is heartbreaking.
I don't think it's that only because he should be well aware of Sera's position by the time a romance could start between her and the Inquisitor. He also says that it's "natural" for her to desire and elf. I think sometimes, especially with Sera, he's got a blind spot in how he thinks about individuals in the context of their race/culture.
I kind of agree with this. So I've had to revise how I do other playthroughs. More qunari is always good, right?
"Cant you elves just play nice for five minutes?" - Varric
Its because elves have different spirits. (Want to buy: Custom font specifically designated for jokes to put that in)
But yeah he might think of it as more 'natural' than elves ending up with other races because of how he was raised. Cullen is interested in elves and humans, and during his romance as an elf he will mention there were elves and humans at the circle and he doesn't see a difference between them because they were treated the same. Elves tend to be treated poorly by humans and visa versa. Its likely that he finds it strange for an elf to end up with a non-elf because elves tend to have the most contact with human of the races, so thus that's where the most opportunities present themselves for different races to procreate, however because the two races look at each other in a negative light they tend to put down the other race and raise their own up as superior. Basically it makes it more of a social thing than anything. If you're raised by parents/a society that hates a certain race its far more likely for you to be indoctrinated to those beliefs at one point or another.
That said, I like the dying race theory more although it is less plausible. This reminds me too much of -shudders- real life. -insert horror movie sound effect here-

I'm not necessarily sure that it's 100% a bad thing that he thinks in those terms. There are some significant differences between the races (even if they are all basically short/slender/pointy-eared/grey/horned humans when it comes down to it - there's nothing really alien about any of them appearance wise). I think it's probably an attitude that would have been perfectly at home during the days of Arlathan and he may well be trying to understand but he's kind of like the old man going "in my day..."
The dying race thing just doesn't work for Sera, unfortunately, because of her preferences.
So... I may or may not be reblogging a lot of Solas stuff on my Tumblr lately, and someone I follow just posted this:
Rude. >:C
Who? Sera?
I'm joking.
I always thought that the result of studying Rift Magic is... your trainer... I can imagine the inq...
"Inquisitor: Greetings. I am the inquisitor!
Random: Greetings inquisitor, what brings you here?
I: I am the inquisitor!
R: Umm, yes your worship... Welcome
I: I am here to inquisit. Because I am, after all, the Inquisitor!
R: Right...
I: I will make your lives incredibly safe, using my incredible abilities. It will be... incredible!
R:
"
Does Solas comment anything when you choose rift?
Hahaha XD

Not Sera, I mean elves in general.
Not Sera, I mean elves in general.
Ahh, yeah. That's simpler and easier to accept than the alternative.
I must say, this game makes me feel like replaying that Sherlock Holmes games.
I feel like the fanbase of Solas is like an ingenious Hive Mind, you guys come up with incredible things.
Gah.
I've been reading theories for half a day, what is wrong with my life?? ![]()

Although it does lower my claim to lunacy.

I think he's just being a... dick about race there, honestly. If it was really about keeping the race alive, he'd have a problem with two women being together. He's kind of going ELVEN MASTER RACE in that banter.
Solas tends to think the big patterns of history are actually meaningful 'choices' (or should at least affect people's choices), instead of the sum of tiny 'mortal' choices.
Here its elves choosing elves, but im sure he would apply it to any race. He sees it as the function of some kind of choice about where you would like your race to go instead of the simpler reality that most would simply want to mary 'the nicest girl in town' or 'someone who understands me'. And thats usually someone of the same race because availibility and socialization.
I believe races actually matter to Solas because its in the scope his god-like decision making process. Like 'how will this and that affect Thedas' races?' Its part of how he plans his chess moves. Solas likes cultures and cultures come from races. But it has nothing to do with 'those guys steal our jobs' level of racism. That would be way too small a scope to even register on his radar so to say.
I want to know why anyone has to resort to sleeping in a tavern or a barn or a couch thingy above the throne room when they live in a castle. Does Blackwall feel unworthy of the castle? Does Sera think the castle is too noble-y? Does Vivienne enjoy the thought that she gets her beauty sleep above a throne? Does Solas sleep sitting in Lotus?

Don't take it to heart.. Solas is not a heartrob or a boy band lookalike, you need to get to know him to appreciate him. Shallow people won't get it ![]()
Does Solas ever get crapped on by ravens?
Hahaha

Oh god, I'm not sure why but this brought to my mind an image of a wedding with the groom being Solas and the bride a fade rift.

Rift mage here, too. I love that RM gets a spell that is basically Singularity from Mass Effect. Makes me feel like a space wizard again.
Ha, yes! That's exactly what Pull of the Abyss reminds me of!
I'm not a mage myself (yet), but every time Solas throws one of those up and I see enemies get sucked into it, my trigger finger itches from my old Turian Sentinel in ME3MP days... twitches wanting to cast Warp in there and cause a nice biotic explosion.
I... may have issues from playing so much ME3MP over the years. ![]()
Does Solas ever get crapped on by ravens?
That is such a good question.
Maybe he sets up a barrier for bird crap?
I went and re-made my character with a different world state for a Hard run... and now I really hope we get a mirror of transformation like we had in DA2. I'm too far in to want to start over again and the fact I forgot to lower blush intensity or change her eyelashes is bugging me. ![]()
Oh well... I can live with it. I think. Maybe.
best trainer ever
I originally wanted to try out KE but the trainer for KE just put me off

I wonder how that perspective affects the relationship with Lavellan. Since he seems to want very badly for her to see him for him, - to have some understanding even if it can never be complete - is he just unable to apply the same logic to other relationships?
And then there's the banter with Cole about love where he's like, "how could they not?" He seems to understand that a relationship can have value because of the emotional benefits of it.
I'm not sure his problem is seeing things as just large scale issues but that he really does have a race elitism thing going on.
Maybe considering the end credits
Spoiler
Who knows, I need more coffee to make sense of my thoughts this morning.
Oh Solas, if you just ask you'd be amazed how many Lavellans would listen and follow you to hell and back because it is their choice to do so. Not without some freaking out and anger at first, though.
BTW, saw some bummed people. Have a ficlet of a happy headcanon I wrote last night!
