So, another reason for all you mage players out there to spec Rift Mage:
You get to Fade Punch Coryphefish in the face.
(Which should totally have been a dialogue option when justifying the choice to Sera.)

Hey does anyone know why Patrick Weekes keeps on calling Solas a "space butterfly" ?
So... I may or may not be reblogging a lot of Solas stuff on my Tumblr lately, and someone I follow just posted this:
Rude. >:C
I told one of my friends she should romance Solas on her first playthrough. She came back and told me he's too ugly. ![]()

Pfff more for us then!

It may be this: http://omfgcata.wiki...Space_Butterfly
The Space Butterfly (may its wings flap eternally as it dreams the world) is a fictional (?) deity created by Jesse Cox, during a boredom-fueled stupor while filming the Terraria series with Totalbiscuit.
The myth states that reality itself is no more than the dream of a gigantic Space Butterfly, that roams through the stars and eats moon nectar, creating and dictating all that occurs.

I...I used to take care of butterflies when I was a kid. One had a torn wing, nursed it back to health, set it free.
Unnecessary feels. I am finding so many things I connect with this character, it's amazing and scary. XD

She'll come around, I didn't want to romance him because he only likes elves (as for looks, only Cullen is classically handsome, though after a while Solas looks really good in my eyes hehe)
His personality, however, is captivating, and that ending cutscene is a mindfuck, so... Yup, she'll come around, probably ![]()
I would recommend everyone to romance him just for the sake of understanding things better.

Ahh nothing like being able to Fade Punch Cory in the face

WANT THE FADE? HAVE THE FADE IN. YOUR. FACE. XD
DAMNIT SOLAS

Also, about the elven fondness for wolves earlier...

Yea, I never thought he was on the same level as Cullen or Dorian, but its one of those things where after you talk to him and get your mind blown, he's suddenly very attractive.
DAMNIT SOLAS
See, I just couldn't cope with this, arse to Trevelyan, it's never gonna happen!
The Knights' Guardians was one of my favorite bits of new lore. (And even more romantic when viewed in a Lavellan/Solas way.
)
I agree, I think his conversations and personality really add to the attractiveness factor. He may not be classically handsome, but he's more striking.

Oh oops, forgot Dorian. Dorian is UBER HANDSOME.
First playthrough he was a permanent companion, everytime he spoke I was 'oh, I would totally go gay for you' (meaning - create a guy, I don't usually do that since I relate better to girls. .. .. since I'm a girl. Dorian made me promise him that the next playthrough will be with a dude).
And yes, I can't stop staring at Solas. I just stand next to him and.. Stare ![]()
Spoiler
I wonder if Fen'Harel was considered a protector of the people at some point in their history?
Also if the Space Butterfly thing ends up meaning that everything is Solas's dream, I am going to need a lot of ice cream to deal with it. It's probably just a fictional deity joke. But I have an unfortunate brain.

I've been lurking here for a few days because reading the posts in this thread helps me deal with all the feels the Solas romance left me with. LOL
Seems like as good a time as any to break my lurker status. I can kind of understand the question. I was totally bent on romancing Cullen my first time through the game and wasn't a big fan of Solas's looks. Then, I actually started playing and started talking to Solas...and my Cullen romance didn't happen. Looking back on it now, I'm thinking of my initial reactions to Solas and going

This person just needs to experience the wonders of Solas. LOL. Also, now, I'm seriously trying to do a Cullen romance on my 2nd playthrough, but I keep getting pulled into conversations and flirt options with Solas. It's a vicious cycle. T_T

You are doomed... Been bitten by the Solas bug, like all of us ![]()
DAMNIT SOLAS
See...it kind of irks me that they just didn't give you the option to flirt with him here. Unless there was already a flirt option earlier in the game that he shut you down after (in which case ignore my rant). But you should totally be able to hit on him all you want, and just not have him respond to your advances - just have him give you disapproval if you do it too much.

The whole game being Solas' dream? That would make us like..his dream woman though, I could live with that... Maybe we're real too!
Pretty much this,Cullen is classically handsome with rugged manly features and nice physique. While Solas is more unconventionally beautiful,I'd say his features are a well balanced contrast between soft and sharp. She'll come around, I didn't want to romance him because he only likes elves (as for looks, only Cullen is classically handsome, though after a while Solas looks really good in my eyes hehe)
