Mahariel is my cannon playthrough, same as my Lavellan. But she's pretty happy with King Alistair.
Lavellan probably relates more to my cannon Hawke, who's shaking up with Crazy-Mc-Anders-Pants.

This is how I feel about it too. I'm convinced a happy ending will come at some point and when it does it will sooo be worth it. I can't even entertain the idea of it not ending well so I hope I don't have to eat these words in the future.
Can't handle anymore Solas soul crushing
I made myself so sad thinking of all the possible tragic endings that I realized I could be happy with my Lavellan having a platonic relationship with Solas' disembodied spirit, just so long as he's around in some way and not alone. There's a lot of potential sadness so I'll take whatever happiness I can get >.<
Edit: And I'm so desperate that I consider walking the Fade together in death to be a really happy ending ![]()
He also basically calls their relationship a mistake. She'd have been justified punching him after that one.
I would totally. Utterly love to see him get punched (not slapped!) by her.
Yeah I know there is that thing in which max disapproval lets you punch him but I don't have the heart to play just for that itty bitty part.
Official solas fan blanket fort? It feels needed
I'll bring the wine
So I'm trying to plan out my Elfy lady for my Solas romance, but don't quite know which personality to give her.
What personality do you guys think has given you the most meaningful interactions?

The Inquisitor needs "Congratulations! You made it worse!" stickers just for Solas.

I really need a happy ending. I don't even know why. I don't always need one, but for this romance...
Blah, I'm getting anxious just thinking about it. Here, have a nuggalope.

ROFL That's just wrong.

Solas practically bleeds approval if you're generally a nice person--helping refugees, expressing empathy, etc. He also occasionally approves of the middle, clever responses. Open-minded quizzies probably draw him out a bit more, since he can get pretty defensive if the quizzy is very religious or opinionated.

Hrm, that'll be my third nice-y nice playthrough then. The cutscenes had best be worth it!

I agree and really hope I don't have to end up head cannon a "Happy ending" like I had to with Thane. ![]()
But I'm an optimistic person...and more so with the Dragon age team I think there will be a choice to be with Solas again..I mean come on they gave players a chance for their Hawkes to run off with Anders in DA2. ![]()

I've always played my characters as confident and self-assured. I know there's a popular teach/student vibe that people get into with him. That's not my bag, but it's totally legit. How it was for me - Lavellan/Solas are equals. He has way too many personality flaws not to be. She is confident and snarky and will snipe back. There were moments - in my head - I would snipe back at him for being an ass to Dorian for no good reason. It's mostly in line with my own personality. I like when people are being friendly to eachother and really hate fighting and bickering for nothing.

I have all of these feels too, please don't break us ![]()
Okay that nuggalope is adorable! I feel better now thanks.
I personally played my inquisitor to match Solas's personality in most ways. Wise, thoughtful and perhaps a bit guarded. Always asking questions. I also went the rift mage spec and thought that fit well for the romance. She gets his attraction to the fade and they have that whole area of magic to explore together. I found it pretty rewarding.
Only thing Solas and I really didn't agree on was Cole's personal quest. I went the human route which I think is the best one personally
Everything you post seems to echo my exact thoughts! I can take a step back to look at Solas and see why some people wouldn't be attracted to him but I can't shake that "Oh god he's the sexiest Bioware LI of all time" feeling
His graceful walk, the way he stands with his arms crossed and his shirt blowing in the wind in Haven, his grumpy faces, that voice... and that doesn't even touch on his personality. Ok, ok, going to try to stop gushing about him now. The keyword here is try
That walk right??
The scene after Haven's destruction, when he spoke with Lavellan... That stride. That flick of the hand when he lights the torch.
Jesus, part of what makes him great is that his personality comes through every aspect of him, including body language, and he is so elegant.
Official solas fan blanket fort? It feels needed
It is indeed the official blanket fort, it was used way back in the days when...there were unicorns puking rainbows and flower garlands, we were so innocent.
I resurrected it the other day.

Definitely going to be a dual-dagger rogue, but that does sound like a fun path...

That is...odd looking but cute where did you find that one?
I'll bring the wine
You bring wine, I'll make cheesecake.
and someone can bring juice.
then I'll spike the juice with tequila.
Some more Solas for you crazy kids:
(Maybe if I stopped taking screenshots I'd finish the damn game.)
I have every setting on max, but my game doesn't look like this? What the hell are your settings?
And... Is this some kind of flycam?
Definitely going to be a dual-dagger rogue, but that does sound like a fun path...
Solas will comment on becoming a rift mage that's the only real reference to it
But still I like the idea of a mage/mage romance and Solas being a bit of a mentor to the Inquisitor. I think the whole first kiss seems to make more sense as a mage to me.
