Am I the only one who feels weird about this art? It looks to me like he's about to prepare her for human elf sacrifice. It's not how I imagine Solas. He's passionate, but gentle.

This has to be my favorite so far. It reminds me of

And him back when.

Yeah, I guess I can see the appeal for some. When I look at the art, I'm like it's so beautiful, but it's not Solas. I see Solas as the white wolf, and not the black one. But that might be because I didn't see his angry side much since I didn't ****** him off in the game haha.

I agree. However, I don't really see the black wolf on the Tower card representing who Solas is, but rather the turmoil in and around him. I am really curious to how the tarot cards will play out for the characters in the future, or if they will at all. I know that the already have to have all the cards filled since they created a tarot deck, but I almost hope that the Tower card works like Varric's creepy card (which becomes a more positive one if you his companion quest) in that it is just another step in his journey or whatever.

I can't wait to see how they make the head of a large and powerful organization like the Inquisition disappear.

Couldn't they just disappear them without explanation and have Leliana/Cassandra/Cullen take over in their place? Not really that much less plausible than the disappearance of the protagonist of every other Bioware game ever. :P

No more shocking than Shepherd being brought back to life in ME2.

"Until one day Inquisitor Lavellan did not return from her journeys.  Some say that she was finally caught by the Venatori, others claim that the Abyssal Dragon rose again to seek vengeance, or that she stepped into a rift to claim her seat at Andraste's side, and the most improbable tale yet is that a wolf took her."

But seriously, I think they'll either have to kill the Inquisitor or else let us play them again Shepard-style and I don't see that happening.  Quizzy is too powerful and the Inquisition is too powerful.  I can't see how it could go away without creating a power vacuum and I can't see how we could play another char when the quizzy is off doing awesome things without us.  It would rankle and it would require the writers to make decisions for the quizzy that might not fit with her char.  So yeah ... death?

Or you know there's always the wolf.  I'll take that option, please.

First I was shocked at how BioWare was able to wrench my focus from the characters/events of Origins & DA2 to the Inquisition.  Then my Lavellan romanced Solas & the nuances of his character & their relationship blew me away.  Then the huge Fen'Harel reveal at the end literally had me going - okay, I officially no longer give a crap about anything else in this whole series but what happens to Solas.  As far as I'm concerned, Solas is the main character of Dragon Age from here on out. The rest of the characters, including my PC, are merely minor stars in his constellation.  And you know what - I like it.

I agree! The only thing I'm concerned about now is Solas' fate in future installments. I know there is a high probability that things would not end well for him, but I keep hoping against hope that there is a chance that he would get some form of happiness at least. :(

I think I'm getting way too invested in this man.

But but but, it's easier to kill Hawke who doesn't even look or sound like my DA2 Hawke than to kill Alistair who is with my mage Warden. Sorry Fenris, you just have to deal with it.

I had to kill my Hawke as well. There's no way I'm sacrificing Alistair! My Dalish warden would be devastated (she is my precious baby). I'm sorry Anders. I hope he won't suddenly go nuts again once he hears the news of Hawke's death though.

And Fenris has to get over his hate of magic thing and look for Hawke in the fade.

I think going to Tevinter would work - the Inquisition doesn't have much power there. Or Seheron. Or Antiva...Or just have DA:4 be about something Quizzie wouldn't care about. There are many important figures in Thedas that don't show up every time something goes wrong. We never saw the Divine before DA:I, and she was incredibly important all across Thedas.

I also think they've set the Inquisition up to dissolve eventually. Mother Giselle talks about it, Solas talks about it, etc. I think they could conceivably say Quizzie steps down to make way for a new organization once the Chantry is stable.

OR the DLC will feature a fall-from-grace arc, a la Kirkwall, and Quizzie will have to flee.

I was wondering if death wouldn't be the easiest way to handle the Inquisitor earlier. I'd need to hunt down the quote but David Gaider has said they don't really care about that? They consider the PCs their characters too, even if the player had a hand in creating them.

Yeah, this is distinctly possible. I can't really see separating the Inquisitor from the Inquisition (except by death) unless there isn't an Inquisition anymore. And technically, it has fulfilled its purpose.

Assuming that they don't plan to continue the story of the Inquisitor...(for the first time I want to continue playing as a certain protagonist)

Assuming they do move on, though, I don't think they'd actually have to make Quizzy disappear. They could make it so that they have to stay and take care of matters in the south while the story moves north.

I definitely agree with this. I think Solas is very much two people at the moment- what is left of himself, and then everything that he's devoted to the 'cause'. And the cause trumps everything. Given his talk to Cole at the end of the game, I don't think Solas thinks he really deserves happiness, knowing what he is going into. He's the one responsible. He's responsible for the fall of Arlathan, responsible for the breach, and responsible for whatever it is that comes next.

His [year? Not sure how long Inquisition is supposed to take] with the Inquisition is probably the first time in a long while that he had a sense of belonging. He probably was able to forget all the guilt for a few moments with Lavellan, or with the others. I don't think it is a coincidence that Solas breaks up after the final big mission in the game. He sensed that they were coming to an end, and it was time to stop pretending.

I really think wherever they go with his story, his relationships with the Inquisition will be vitally important to his character development. He wants to save the world, and by getting close to them he actually gets to see who he is saving rather than a faceless society. In the post-breakup banter with Cole, Cole says she was real. While this line is exclusive to the romance, I think it can be later applied to everyone else. They were real people with thoughts and feelings and worth saving. Maybe whatever he wanted for them, he decides against because they are worth perserving as they are.

BTW, this thread moves really fast. I spend several hours just reading and then realize there are already five more pages

I ended up tweaking my Solas/Lavellan fan music video after noticing some errors and things I wanted to change.  I hope this is the final product.  I chose "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence as the song, since it seemed appropriate with the theme of my video.  Enjoy :)

"What will you do when the Dread Wolf finds you?

I found the blizzard scene to be a powerful scene over all. There you are- alone, hurting, probably thinking you’ll die before anyone can find you and in the distance you can hear wolf howling. I was honestly expecting some wolf ambush to happen but it never did.
Like many others, I like to think Fen’Harel was guiding Levallan and just as she’s about to collapse, he’s the last thing she sees. "

Man, I would love to keep playing my quizzy.  I love her.  I was attached to the Warden and Hawke, but that was more that I liked the story and universe.  I actually like my quizzy, even without the Solas angle.  I want to make a super evil/vengeful quizzy and make Thedas tremble at my feet and lead it to their ruin and me the Empress of the Ashes.  I need this.  Of course, I really do like my benevolent wise quizzies.  I don't know.  They are so powerful and they have such potential.

I am sure there is going to be an ending for all the quizzies that will give us the option to use the mark as Cory wanted to.  I mean, even Morrigan asked if you would want to become a god.  There are so many hints and questions surrounding that.  I can't imagine a person with godhood literally in the palm of their hand not, at least, asking questions and trying to understand what that means.  If not using it ...

Solas is the hero Thedas deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

lolz, I don't think it fits, but it's funny.

Or Quizy and Solas stay on the Fade, protecting it from the next breach, for eternity (so neither she or Solas die alone) <3
