Kinda offtopic, but I wish that my elfquizzy could have a welsh accent. I absolutely adore Welsh accents, they're so pretty and nice to hear. Which is 80% of the reason why I am even more attrcated to Solas after hearing that he's gonna be welsh ala Merril.

I hope it's not like Merrill's which I didn't really take to, may be because it was a higher pitch as it was female.   I normally love the Welsh accent, particularly a deep male accent.   Of course it varies according to which part of Wales you come from.   Still, I'm really happy that he's going to sound Welsh, since it means I'll enjoy listening to his voice even when he isn't saying something interesting.

Right, I spent half the night listening to Welsh accents, and I can safely say I'm absolutely in looooovveee with them. I'm out of likes already dang it, and calling myself an idiot for not asking if Solas had violet eyes yesterday at raptr  But pretend I liked pretty much any of your posts, because I agree with almost all of them, I'm still trying to be optimistic because for me there being eight LI's means that Solas only has a bigger chance, and I don't see Viv, Blackwall or Varric being part of those 8. Also, I'm not really attracted to Blackwall or IB either, I want to romance our lanky bald elf darn it! So don't lose hope everyone, it's not over yet!

And I found something that I think would fit perfect with this thread and the current situation

god yes welsh accents. And I totally agree with you Gervaise that Merrill's accent was a bit much at times *even though I adore Eve Myles, she's a fantastic person and loved her on Torchwood* I think it was only becuase she was very squeaky considering she's, well Merrill. I can totally imagine Solas with a more low and dreamy Welsh accent... smooth... velvety... oh maker....

I can go either way with a welsh accent,  in general it is not a favourite and I didn't enjoy Merrill as a character (probably her annoying naivete rather than her voice though as I do like Eve Myles).  I once studied with a welsh guy and he happened to be a complete and utter misogynistic tool, so I hope his voice doesn't sound like that guy...

I still can't find really interesting Cullen, he have the "blonde Kaidan vibe" that make me feel indifferent to him. Blackwall is good looking in his own way, but I see him ad a daddy type, like Winnie was a grandmother type.

Have some positive speculation:

Blackwall I think is the most unlikely, he just doesn't give off a romance vibe to me at all. I think he's going to be more like Wynne, someone who's mature and has seen a lot of things and gives you advice. Also, one of the devs said he looks / acts like her father as well, that doesn't sound very desirable to be (sorry Blackwall fans)

Varric is not so easy. They keep mentioning how much he loves Bianca, and I was pretty sure he won't be a romance. But he's got a lot of fans as well, and since the Cullenites got Cullen everything is possible I guess? Also, the race restrictions would work for him... Still a lot of people also value the fact that he loves Bianca so much, and I just have a feeling he won't be a LI

IB has me wondering as well. I'm sure we'll be able to have a fling with him or something. But a romance doesn't seem so likely. If I remember correctly one of the devs said that they try to make the stories different every time. And IB with his "gotta bang em all unless they break" seems a lot like Zevran. Also the relationship would have to evolve in the same in order to become a romance. Because if it's gonna be one of those open relationships it won't count as a romance for me, I don't want my LI humping everyone
But same as Varric, race restrictions would suit him as well

Solas is simply me gusta but aside from that, I think Solas is likely because we've never had someone like him before
And since they said that the romances will be more mature, and Solas seems like a mature men
And I really want dem tights and dat ass

That said... I might be one of the few here who happen to also like Blackwall. The beard, the strong arms, the weathered face UGHNGH

 

Back to Solas. I... Might be missing something in DA's lore and stuffs, but are elves supposed to look younger than their human counterparts? Because Solas surely does not look 40 to me.

People age at different rates.   I come from a family where everyone looks younger than they really are.   When you are a late teenager it is annoying because everyone thinks you are twelve, but as the years pass you have the last laugh because you stay looking way younger than you really are.   It also helps if like me you still think you are a teenager.     I said a few pages back that Solas probably has had a reasonably stress free life away from civilisation and that would help in itself to keeping him looking young.   Elves may age in physical appearance more slowly than humans of course.   Lack of facial hair probably adds to the youthful look.   I know several friends who when they were younger grew beards to make themselves look older.     Blackwall might well look younger without his beard, although the harshness of life as a Grey Warden may well have weathered him.

 

I don't mind if Solas is 40.   If he is a romance then it will make a change to have a more mature approach to things, although, thinking about myself, that is not guaranteed.   Like I keep saying, feeling/acting young or old is a state of mind.

I think Blackwall is unlikely LI because I agree, he is more like Daddy who will need to go to deep roads soon. I don't want to romance dying man again!! Thane was enough.

 

It leawes to us Chesthair, IB and Solas.

Also there are two more male LI for females. My gueses they are IB or Varric, it can't be both of them because that will means all race restricted romances goes to female players. More likely Dagna as race restricted for males and IB as race restricted for females. Can be Varric RR for females and unknown Qunari for males.

 

Solas more likely will be our LI and I have two reasons to belive that. First he is an elf, Bioware LI tradition to give one elf to us. Second, Solas will save our quizzy from a start, and then will go to find us risking his live, Thats Too romantic just to drop it!!!!

It looks more like first glance love, like saving damsel in distress, hide a princess from a dragon...

 

 

Oh gods, It seems I just need to go look some pretty fairytale with magic and love. Anyone know one I could watch today? =)

Hrrrmmm.... Hmm.  Gyah!  Man, I really want to drop the whole romance speculation business, because, really, since before yesterday, nothing has changed info-wise. His odds are exactly the same as before, it's just disappointing that they revealed all this info on romances, but we straight girls (edit: and gay boys!) STILL only know what one of our options are. But!  I keep thinking about it! Ugh!

 

So here are some thoughts, and then I'll shut up about it.  For a bit.  Maybe,

 

In every DA game so far, at least one of the male options, and one of the female options, have been characters very closely tied with the main plot.  In Origins it was Alistair and Morrigan (Alistair being the other Warden, and the person who potentially ends the political crisis, and Morrigan, because. Flemeth's master plan. Also, OGB).  In DA2, the main conflicts are the Qunari invasion, and the Mage/Templar issue - hence Isabela, who winds up being almost directly to blame for the Qunari being in Kirkwall, and then Anders being, well, Anders.  So!  In Inquisition, we already know Cass is the one who starts the Inquisition, so she's kind of obvious.  But what about the guys?  Since the plot of Inquisition revolves so much around the Fade, and the tears, and the demons, and who could even do such a thing? And who would have any idea about any of it?  Well, Solas would.  That's who. 

 

Alright, so now that I've written it all down, it seems even more convoluted than it did last night when it was too damn hot to fall asleep.  Well, whatever.  I will join the prayer circle with you all.  I've got plenty of candles and incense left over from my slightly embarrassing goth phase I went through when younger.  You all are welcome to them!

OMG I've just got back and all this freaking info!! I've been trying to catch up and my summary so far is: Cass is straight, Zevran won't be making a cameo, and Solas might not be a LI...
