Does anyone know what is differrent if you get Solas' tarot card with the stalking black wolf versus the one with the white wolf? I received the one with the white wolf last playthrough, but I've seen pictures of the other one.

The white wolf card (the Hierophant) only shows up if Solas is romanced.

Found this link from the Abelas thread: apparently if you drink from the Well, you get some extra Codex entries that clarify the ancient elven writing.

http://yaranyarai.tu...e-to-drink-from

I have to say, the descriptions in Elgar'nan and Andruil's entries definitely ping some Lovecraftian vibes for me.  Especially Elgar'nan.  "Shifting, shadowy mass with blazing eyes, whose form may be one or many?"  *shudders*

Also, who are those who cast Mythal down?  Abelas says that the humans had nothing to do with the fall of Arlathan, and Fen'Harel didn't murder her.  Other elves?  It seems unlikely that it would be other members of the elven pantheon; maybe it was some sort of external threat.

Ugh, these clues.  Those writers.  My head hurts.

Hmm I like the second one, about "a form reserved for the gods and their chosen" -- this is obviously a dragon. I think it lends a lot of credence to the Old Gods = Elven Gods theory.

So who took the shape? That's not talking about Fen'harel, is it?

I remember someone here posted their Inq on this thread. Can someone tell me who it was? I tried to recreate him in my character creator, but it was impossible...

Hah, looks like they tried to make Brad Pitt.

Solas's card can change after the final romance scene. If you're not romancing him, it will only change after the end of the game, once he's no longer available.

I haven't done the Cassandra romance but I believe hers also will only change if romanced. Possibly also if she's made Divine post game?

Just finished a playthrough with Cassandra as the new Divine and yes, her card changes. It's nice but her face looks a bit like Frida Kahlo O.o Also her dialogue post-game is hilarious :D

My boyfriend romanced her and says her card changes as well and is very nice. I probably saw it when he was playig but sadly I don't recall it.

You get the white wolf card if you romanced Solas. All others get the black wolf card.

Thanks, thread has moved to fast for me to keep up with everything. Does anyone else have this horrible urge to shout LIAR at the screen on subsequent playthroughs when talking to Blackwall and Solas?

Erm... I actually did during my second playthrough. Even my bf, when he was watching me play, would say "Yeah yeah we know, you saw it in the Fade, we totally believe you..."

If I had a nickel for each time I shouted "LIAR" at one of them...

It's especially bad with Blackwall for me, since I replayed DA:O right before playing DA:I.  I was refreshed on all the Warden lore and I'd actually worked out part of his plot twist by Adamant.  What really nailed it was how he said he didn't hear Corypheus's Calling at all.  It couldn't have been a matter of simple willpower; if the badass trifecta of Warden!Alistair, Stroud, and Warden!Loghain are still affected, and Blackwall somehow isn't, that meant he couldn't have been a Warden at all.  I took to calling him "crazy Steve" while I waited for the other shoe to drop.  And then it did, and oh boy was it worse than I anticipated  :(

In Solas's case, I waver between yelling at him for lying, and yelling at him for really how bad he is at it.  IMO he only fooled people because the truth was so unbelievable.  It never would have occurred to anyone that gentle, compassionate, Fade nerd Solas was the Dread Wolf of elven legend.

Don't get me wrong. I think Solas is great, but with my current player knowledge (not my PC, I'm afraid my Lavellan mage is going to fall for Solas too, and she was supposed to romance Cullen- but our bald, sexy elf is giving her feelings) I am having ******, Anders moments with our current cast of liars.

Oh what, my m!Lavellan is going to get manboobs when he gets to Skyhold? Damn it xD
He is the first inquisitor I have made that I actually like the look of, so I'm not giving up on him. My great ginger mullet of Thedas will continue to suprise Solas with his kind words of approval. I want them to be like the Hawke and Varric of DAI. Heartwarming friendship to the end. Giving them a happy reunion would be great as well *cough*DLC HINT*cough*

I'm not enjoying my Trevelyan mage run, maybe because Solas doesn't like her either. He doesn't hate her yet, just doesn't care. No fade scene for her. Wah. Solas has ruined the female inquisitor for me. I am struggling to be her without romancing that man. He is just soooo much more enjoyable than the other male romances for her.

Definitely a Solas addict over here

I don't think the mark is a curse, it seems to have no side effects, it acts as a key. Plus, me thinks that it would be weird if the mark just disappears, 1) the Inqi still has the mark after the end game (which makes it feel that the bound between the mark and the orb are broken), 2) Coryphemieous said 'it's your fault Herald. You've interrupted a ritual years in the planning, and instead of dying you stole its' purpose'. This makes me think that anchor was an intended result of the ritual (not an accident of the Herald's intervention), born out of the sacrifice of the Divine. Corypheous (can't think of nicknames) wanted it back so he could do what Herald did - walk in the fade. Makes me think why this mark is called an anchor, by the way.

As for Solas, if you theorize is true then...
Mmmmm... Perhaps. But I get the feeling that if it were his motivation he would've been super manipulative, like agrees with anything just so he could keep close to the Inquisitor. Maybe even act more like Morrigan.

The spirit in the fade (who assumed Divine Justinia's form) stated the mark is a key which lets her survive walking physically in the fade and opens a door. The key is like a needle for the veil and she is the thread.

Can anyone else not finish the game after the final romance scene? I just don't want Solas to go, even though he's broken my heart.

Not looking forward to when I finally do finish my Lavellan playthough, the party is gonna be so sad without him :(

"The sinner belonged to Dirthamen" - a follower or a slave? And pillars of the earth and soulless workers? Darkspawn? Gah this game will drive me insane.

IMO the DA:I cast is actually more functional than the DA2 cast.  Not as tight-knit, since the DA2 cast have seven years to grow and evolve together.  I didn't feel like I needed to babysit the Inquisitor's companions, but each time I took Anders, Fenris, and Sebastian somewhere, I wanted to turn around and hit them.

I also haven't said "GODDAMNIT SOLAS" nearly as much as I yelled "GODDAMNIT ANDERS."

I remember early on when the companions were talking about the archdemon and I kept thinking "why can't we just ask Blackwall..? He would know for sure." Haha...Maybe it's because I didn't romance him, but I definitely felt more "betrayed" by his reveal than by Solas'. It might also be because we already know what Blackwall's motivations were: he was protecting himself and trying to outrun his crimes. Solas could have similarly distasteful motivations, but we don't know yet and it's easy for me to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I was really surprised Lavellan wasn't more interested in walking physically in the Fade again. It would be hard for me to resist going to magical dream land. She just sort of shrugs it off though. I wonder if it's more difficult for her to open rifts than it is to close them, or if we're just supposed to accept that Quizzie is not interested in that type of power.

Can anyone else not finish the game after the final romance scene? I just don't want Solas to go, even though he's broken my heart.

Not looking forward to when I finally do finish my Lavellan playthough, the party is gonna be so sad without him :(

After that scene I just powered through the end. I didn't even talk to anyone at the final party. I was done, I thought my Quizzie would be done. Like a pouting child xD.

I've finished the game once with a female dwarf and knew what was going to happen. Second playthrough, got to after the 3rd romance scene... Didn't play since, and I'm a freakin' addict of the game, there was no day in the month I haven't played.

Ugh.

Great... but then how do we explain the rest of our companions when we're busy running after SpiritJustinia and facing Blinky? How do they get to walk through the Fade and come out fine?

Even Sera and Cole - who are weird and potentially not suited for polite company in their own ways - seem more autonomous than most of the DA:2 cast. I am really worried for Merrill....Also it's nice to be listened to. The number of people who did not listen to Hawke's perfectly sane advice was astounding. People respect the Inquisitor a lot more.

I've been running around doing completionist before the final quest. I figure, when they announce the first dlc/expansion, if they say its one that takes place post campaign, I'll beat the boss then. Until then, I just run around with Solas giving him angry/depressed looks.

First of all, Blinky is an awesome name for the nightmare.

Second, I think it might be a property of the rift itself.  The Inquisitor can open Fade rifts and close them, apparently.  Maybe those that s/he deliberately opens are fundamentally different in some way from naturally occurring rifts, or rifts as a result of the Breach.  Maybe that's why everyone makes it in one piece.
