Hi guys, I was wondering if I may ask a question.

I am at the moment attempting a Solas romance and was wondering how the romance was. I sort of figure how it might end having gone through once without romancing him but how did you find the rest of the romance.  I heard he didn't get as much content but was the content he got fulfilling?

Yes, very fulfilling until it becomes horribly depressing - at least on the first playthough. Honestly, now that I'm romancing Cullen in a 2nd playthrough, I do feel like we got the short end of the stick. But I didn't know any better on my first playthrough.

At least the sex was...divine. ;)

Ok, now I'm imagining Varric saying that and I'm laughing so hard the other people in the library are giving me strange looks.

That would be grand!

I wonder how would Sera respond. Or Dorian.

I'm pretty set on the party, though it seems to me now that I'd have to play this imaginary hopefully to be DLC several times, in order to experience the dialog to its' fullest.

So. Much. Potential.

Honestly? It's adorable. He doesn't get as many scenes as Cullen does, but each and every one of them is just so well-done.

It's also completely and utterly heartbreaking, but in a really good way. If you know how it ends, then you'll be more prepared than a lot of people were. And there's just so much melancholy tenderness there. I highly recommend it. I warn you, though. As soon as you finish you'll have the burning desire for DLC that continues the story and provides more answers. :P

Also, I find it much more fulfilling to do it on a maximum-lore run. So bring Solas with you and try to dissect what he says for hidden meanings. His true identity is astonishingly well-foreshadowed. Really, the best stories in this game are between the lines.

Hello, my friend!

I want to let you know that you are in a thread where we are all insane for Solas. The answer to your question is a resounding YES. He does have far less content than the other romances, but the quality of the writing is superb. Many of us cannot romance another. He stole not solely our hearts nor our minds. Our very souls belong to this egghead!

Once you go *insert word to rhyme here*, you never go back.

This is hurting my brain. I can't think of a single word to insert there that makes sense in regards to Solas.

The word is pack.

"Once you go pack, you never go back."

Meaning, once you join the wolf pack you're in it for life.

I don't think Sera would think he's a demon, just a nut-job.

Mmm, her comment on the happenings in Temple of Mythal makes it seems like all she could think is that everybody involved were demons.

But she could entirely think he is a nut-job.

So here's an idea for a page 1500 celebration - every post must go to the tune of Hallelujah!

Thank you all for answering. I have been wanting to romance him for a while, ever since I finished my first pt. I just love a big twist in a romance and he has one. I was just a little worried as I had romanced Cullen and I heard Solas' wasn't as content heavy but I'm looking forward to it now. :)

As other were saying - although it does has significantly less content than other romances the writing is just superb.

Plus, it makes you feel like you are part of something even bigger than you intended.

Solas stole my heart so hard I'm having difficulties even thinking about romancing the other companions, especially after experiencing a romance with Blackwall in the first playthrough.

I honestly suggest you do a playthrough with the other romances you are interested in first, Solas tend to make your heart his slave after you romance him.

Super hot @_@

That caress was really... ... -insert word to describe my real abstract, yet fiery feelings-

And as for the conversation, it probably would've broken the plot? Maybe they couldn't think about a way of doing It without giving away too much?

"Solas, Solas, Solas."  Lavellan bounced on the balls of her feet practically vibrating with excitement.

With a sigh and thinly disguised amusement, Solas set his brush down and turned to face her.  "Yes, vhenan?"

"I know something you don't know.  I can't believe I get to say this, but you were wrong.  The elvhen gods were real!  I just met one."

Solas froze and it was only the millennia of practice that kept his face schooled.  Which one?  Who had she met?  What had happened?  "Oh?"  He managed to say without choking.

"Mythal, she was ... well wearing a human, but still she was glorious."

Solas could not see Lavellan as the implications and possibilities swam in his vision.

I have now decided that this actually happened.  Though probably with a bit more grace on Lavellan's part.  Maybe... I would rub his face in it if I were her.

Well Cullen also has to have all of his content in general restricted to cutscenes and Skyhold. Solas has a fair bit of his own content in quests and such. So just bring him along with you. Listen to banter. Dress him up in silly clothes when you get mad at him... ;)

I tend to take him everywhere as it is. I Mainly play an elf so I think it's good for her to have his prospective given most of what she's learned is wrong. Also considering what she knows of him, at least she can see what he is truly like. Plus he has some good banter.

Does Solas react differently if you ally with the Templars based on approval rating? Even though "Solas Greatly Disapproves" happened he was just kind of "they have their issues but whatever" and approved when I flirted with him. If your approval is already low does he act miffed, or does he always approach the situation neutrally?

Hahaha

This dialog is really cute, though does not suit my Lavellan at all XD

It could've have happen, they did do things out of screen (like.. When the loading screen was showing, entire days passed!), but how would this conversation branch from there? I don't think Lavellan will accept silence for an answer.
