Does Solas react differently if you ally with the Templars based on approval rating? Even though "Solas Greatly Disapproves" happened he was just kind of "they have their issues but whatever" and approved when I flirted with him. If your approval is already low does he act miffed, or does he always approach the situation neutrally?

If you tick him off enough in general he brings up recruiting the templars in his "The Reason You Suck" speech (where you get to punch him). But if he likes you then I guess he trusts you to know what you're doing.

 

Which is rather sweet if you think about it.

So I just got this banter for the first time. It occurs soon after the Dalish Inquisitor first meets Solas, as they're in the valley heading towards the Temple of Sacred Ashes. That sly bastard heavily hints at who he really is within the first 20 minutes of meeting him!

 

Solas: I have wandered many roads in my time, and crossed paths with your people on more than one occasion.

Dalish Inquisitor: What do you mean "crossed paths"?

Solas: I mean that I offered to share knowledge, only to be attacked for no greater reason than their superstition.

To put this in context, Dalish superstition is that Fen'Harel still crosses paths with them on occasion, either to sport with them or dispense "dark" knowledge. Additionally, "those elves who travel the Beyond claim that Fen'Harel still roams the world of dreams, keeping watch over the gods lest they escape from their prisons."

I laughed out loud at this dialogue with Cole in Skyhold, even though I doubt my Lavellan would say it (from the paraphrased: "You...what are you?")

 

Lavellan: "Solas tried explaining what you are... but honestly I stopped listening awhile ago."

What do we think of the name Aithne (Fiery) for my elvish lady for Solas? I plan on her being young and argumentative to counter his age-old wise mentor shtick.

This dialog is really cute, though does not suit my Lavellan at all XD

It could've have happen, they did do things out of screen (like.. When the loading screen was showing, entire days passed!), but how would this conversation branch from there? I don't think Lavellan will accept silence for an answer.

 

Well that wasn't really supposed to be an accurate description of their conversation.  Just amusing.    However, I do like to think that quizzy told him, and probably her companions, because that's a HUGE deal and I don't see how anyone could keep that to themselves.  I like to think that Solas was just like "Fascinating, however that does not dismiss my dispersions on their supposed deity status.  She could still have been a powerful mage or spirit."  Then he would internally be plotty, plotty, plotty.

Oh gaaawwwd, I just finished the game   

 

I knew what happened but had never actually watched the post temple of mythal scene or the stinger...  I have a couple of thoughts...not very coherent thoughts, but thoughts nonetheless.

I'm so confused by the breakup and how it happens... not in the context of the relationship as a whole, but why at that moment??? Why??  My gut interpretation is that he bottled out from telling her the whole truth to ensure that she was not distracted from stopping Cory, although he'd already piled a ton of angst on her so I don't know if that stands... I think he may have been intending to come clean when the orb was recovered though.

I don't really understand why he would become a villain  from what was shown in the stinger.  My initial thought was that he absorbed the spirit of Mythal and the consequence of that was the death of the Flemeth the woman, and I don't think she'll come back.   I think that Solas and Mythal consented to him taking Mythal's spirit,  I suspect what was left of the woman, Flemeth may not have had a say.  But Mythal doesn't seem to have been a villian, and Solas seemed to have a good heart (for the most part... aside from being a total dick to my poor sweet Lavellan ) so I don't think what there is plan will be evil, just world changing... I hope he succeeds.

 

So,  I've now got a sad face Lavellan and am feeling sad and empty... She didn't speak to anyone at the party and is currently going solo with 'Blackjack' (yes... her horse has a name  ) in the Hissing Wastes

In certain lights you can also see really really short stubble on his head. So he isn't actually bald, he just keeps his head completely shaved somehow (magic???).

If there would be a DLC I really hope they compensate and take care of the Lavellans, because sheesh.

It's so unfair that even though both Cullen and Solas were added afterwards as romace-ables that Cullen gets so many romantic scenes.

Or at least more cutscenes so I could stare at his friggin lovely face more!
