I thought it was amusing that solas has very thin stains of hair you couldn't see it in-game.
Spoiler
I'm shocked.
Why would they do thattttt? You can't even see ittttt...
First of all, that is terrifying and I'm going to have nightmares. Second, whatthefuajfdkal? Elves with beards?!? That proves it, he must be a God.
Actually! There is banter between Solas and Blackwall:
Though as I recall Fenris told Varric that elves can't grow facial hair...
Mmmmmmmm.....
I thought they could with humans? Like Feynriel from DA2?
Also "she was wearing a human"
![]()
edit: wait, we have the option to send Feynriel to Tevinter at the end of that game... and we are moving into Tevinter... !
They can have children with other races, those children will just be of the other race. They can only have elven children with other elves. It's why Sera has her wonderfully crude line about "bumping bits" with other elves if Lavellan romances Solas.
Once you go *insert word to rhyme here*, you never go back.
Except with a male character for a bromance. ![]()
So how are all of your Lavellan's feeling about Solas breaking up with them and leaving?
I actually don't picture my Lavellan being angry at him, at least not for leaving her. She realizes that he didn't want to and clearly felt like he had to. She's more worried about him than anything, because whatever he plans on doing sounds really self-destructive and no good ever came out of a person thinking that they had to walk their path alone. If she's angry at him for anything, it's for not letting her try and help him. She's an optimistic sort so she's trying to ignore the idea that he's up to something that could hurt Thedas as she knows it.
Basically there'd be no yelling or punching if came back to her, though I understand those who feel their Lavellan would do that. ![]()
Also, I love that Solas has some stubble going on! I wonder if there's any on his head or if it's completely smooth.

Best that I could do with a mouse and keyboard.

I dunno, maybe there are guys somewhere agonizing over the fact that they can't bromance anyone but Solas now...
Oh gaaawwwd, I just finished the game

I knew what happened but had never actually watched the post temple of mythal scene or the stinger... I have a couple of thoughts...not very coherent thoughts, but thoughts nonetheless.

My Lavellan is a lot like yours, although probably more suspicious. She's more worried than angry.

Haha she's totally suspicious and has been even when he was still around but she tries to stamp it down as much as she can.
And I agree that Solas is a "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" character. I will never believe he's a bad guy, there's too much evidence against that. Doesn't mean he isn't a damn fool for all his intelligence and worldliness, though.

This ... THIS IS NOT HELPING. No amount of flowers ... I uh okay I do like flowers so thank you. *Looks at face again* Nope, nope, NOPE. The eyes ... why are the eyes like this?

@Annie - Well friend, you got there quicker than I did (I have been "lingering" too long....putting off the heart-gouging with a rusty spoon, scene.

).
By the way, love that reaction you captured. Damn I just want to give her a pint (ice cream, beer....whichever), a box of tissues, and fuzzy robe. (hehe!! Making that list puts me in mind of this....)
(here is hoping a few get this reference.)
sorry
it's been such a long time since I've seen The Jerk its gone right over my head! ... You're gonna have to take the plunge with Solas my dear, rip that plaster off!
All I can do now is hope he doesn't get Thane'd, I don't think my girly gamer heart could cope with another one... please please please Patrick! be kind.

Pretty much the same for me, she realised there was something big and important that he had to deal with and her gut tells her that it's not really over. She spends most of her time in the Emerald Graves because she finds it comforting and peaceful.

Mine is upset, she doesn't understand why like a "it's not you, it's me" situation but respects his choice. Throughout the relationship, she was the one chasing him, he was hesitant since the beginning.
The head is completely smooth, though there is a bit of hair he missed on the right side of his forehead (near brow).

Found this link from the Abelas thread: apparently if you drink from the Well, you get some extra Codex entries that clarify the ancient elven writing.
http://yaranyarai.tu...e-to-drink-from
I have to say, the descriptions in Elgar'nan and Andruil's entries definitely ping some Lovecraftian vibes for me. Especially Elgar'nan. "Shifting, shadowy mass with blazing eyes, whose form may be one or many?" *shudders*
Also, who are those who cast Mythal down? Abelas says that the humans had nothing to do with the fall of Arlathan, and Fen'Harel didn't murder her. Other elves? It seems unlikely that it would be other members of the elven pantheon; maybe it was some sort of external threat.
Ugh, these clues. Those writers. My head hurts.
YES MORE CODEX!
"The sinner belongs to Dirthamen. He claims he took wings at the urging of Ghilan'nain, and begs protection from Mythal."
Putting aside all the other very interesting stuff, why would Ghilan'nain encourage it?
My Lavellan is a lot like yours, although probably more suspicious. She's more worried than angry.
My Lavellan was sad, angry and embarassed after the break up - I took the removing vallaslin option, so being with Solas has visibly changed her. The fact that people like Sera (ugh) comment on it makes it worse.
BUT Lavellan doesn't stew over it forever. She moves on. (Unless we get a Wolf Hunt DLC. In which case she'll be all over that!)
Haha she's totally suspicious and has been even when he was still around but she tries to stamp it down as much as she can.

He wasn't very good at not being shady. ![]()
He is the most intelligent idiot in Thedas, yes. Someone needs to sit him down and tell him he needs to think things through more carefully.
I dunno, maybe there are guys somewhere agonizing over the fact that they can't bromance anyone but Solas now...
True. I'm no guy, but I'm currently agonizing over whether to make a pro-Andrastean Maxwell or a cute Mahanon since I can now turn off the Skyhold pajamas so I don't have to see his man-boobs.
If you believe you're really the Herald of Andraste, you really ****** off Solas, right? Yeah... and I wanted Max to become a Templar. I don't think there would be a bromance in that playthrough.
So how are all of your Lavellan's feeling about Solas breaking up with them and leaving?

I think my Lavellan was sad when he broke up with her, and sadder when he left without explaining like he promised he would.
And slowly this sadness is turning into anger. And then more sadness.
If "punch him" is an option when you first see him again, I may take it - I just worry that it would lock me into an angry path. Whereas she would actually be like,
[Punch] "you *******!"
[hugs him and starts crying] "I thought Id never see you again, why, Solas, why?!?!?!"
I'm shocked.
Why would they do thattttt? You can't even see ittttt...
Though as I recall Fenris told Varric that elves can't grow facial hair...
Mmmmmmmm.....
Fenris should just stick to perfecting his brooding. He knows nothing about his people. He didn't even know he had a sister!
They can have children with other races, those children will just be of the other race. They can only have elven children with other elves. It's why Sera has her wonderfully crude line about "bumping bits" with other elves if Lavellan romances Solas.
Is there really such a concern for 100% elven babies? I always thought the game hinted that mages existed due to an original pairing of elf/human (possibly Andraste, with all the codex entries about her lineage). Though I will have to go hunting for the evidence (after I finish this essay) not looking to justify human/Solas babies nope
