Hmm, so if Solas is in his "40s" do you think he has any grey hair?  I

There seems to be a lot of speculation about what exactly is going on there. A lot of people interpret it as Solas stealing something from Flemeth, or conversely Flemeth/Mythal switching into Solas' body.

I'm pretty sure it's intentionally ambiguous, but I've been leaning more towards the latter - just based on the way things play out, as well as the fact that Flemeth has the last line and when she says "I am sorry as well" it's not clear what she would be apologizing for, if not the surprise takeover.

That's how I interpreted it as well. Solas was also the less dominant of the 2 in the embrace. His head was nestled to Flemeth. It definitely felt like Flemeth was the one in control.

I was thinking somethimg different. I think he is afraid of dying as the last of his people. Dying alone might just be the non spoiler way of saying "Be the last of his kind". He is anything but thrilled about the dalish and he sees them as a failure. He is the last - not counting Mythal - and we know that he did something he regretted. And though the original elves did not die of old age they could still be killed.

so dying alone noone would remember the truth about Fen Harel or who he truly was. He would die leaving nothing behind but his failure and a grave misinterpretation of who he is and what he did.

I'm inclined to believe that all of the companions' fears are the real deal. So when Solas's fear is said to be "dying alone" then that means actually dying alone. Dying with no friends or loved ones to remember him after having lived a very long and very lonely life. They could've worded it more ambiguously if that wasn't what they meant. After all, in his final words to Cole he says, "the path I must walk in solitude forever." Leaving meant that he was once again walking that lonely path. Thus, he didn't think of himself as alone when he was with the Inquisition.

:crying:

My Lavellan isn't going to track down Solas just because she wants to be with him. She is going to track him down because she knows something is up and is worried about what he is planning to do.

Was the banter connected for you? I got the Maker part on its own in my game, even though they come one after the other in the banter video, I think they're just two separate banters.

I'm pretty sure I got this one in game the other day, and it's all one big banter. I think. Maybe.

Hmmmm. Weird.

Of course the real question is, if Solas and Cole have been sneaking off to the Fade to watch movies together then why didn't they invite me?!

Also, Aviena, I love that it looks like our avatars are side-eyeing each other.

We don't encounter the Dalish much to see it.  But doesn't one of the things someone say is the clan is responsible for killing the First or Keeper if they become possessed. So they'll either all die or kill their Keeper, either way we wouldn't encounter it unless it's very bad timing on the heroes part.

And what about the Lady of the Forest and Zathrian, he bound himself to a spirit?

Yes, he did and he lived for a freaking long time.  I think it's also important to note that he went a little crazy too.  Like his initial decision to bind himself to the spirit of the forest, brilliant btw given how connected he was to the forest as Dalish, was not really insane.  I mean it was bit over the top maybe, but wasn't his daughter raped by the shemlen and then the whole town was like "psh she's just an elf"?  I understand his anger and I understand the response.  He cursed them in classic righteous anger fashion.  However, when the Warden meets him Zathrian had become a bit unstable.  Which makes me wonder if whatever affected the ancient elves and made the gods go crazy was affecting him on a lesser level.  Because his spell made him immortal, but that was like an aftereffect it was not the reason for the spell.

Just like Solas said.  It wasn't really a spell it was just a state of being.

So if on a minor level Zathrian tied himself to immortality with enslaving the werewolves, which was what they were.  I wonder if the elven gods tied themselves to immortality on a similar level with their slaves.  Btw I don't mean making them werewolves.

Anyway Zathrian was bonkers and so were the elvhen gods.  Thoughts?

So how are all of your Lavellan's feeling about Solas breaking up with them and leaving?

I actually don't picture my Lavellan being angry at him, at least not for leaving her. She realizes that he didn't want to and clearly felt like he had to. She's more worried about him than anything, because whatever he plans on doing sounds really self-destructive and no good ever came out of a person thinking that they had to walk their path alone. If she's angry at him for anything, it's for not letting her try and help him. She's an optimistic sort so she's trying to ignore the idea that he's up to something that could hurt Thedas as she knows it.

Basically there'd be no yelling or punching if came back to her, though I understand those who feel their Lavellan would do that.

Also, I love that Solas has some stubble going on! I wonder if there's any on his head or if it's completely smooth.

My Lavellan was devastated but tried to maintain her composure occassionally she would burst out in anger not because he broke up with her but because he didnt trust her enough to share what was wrong and what was worrying him. Its like he is treating her like she is an infant. She is afraid for his life though.

I'm replaying my Lavellan's playthrough, and at some point it occured to me that she would actually drink from the Well of Sorrows, because 'it's a keeper's job to remember' and she takes her job as her clan's First very seriously, even after becoming the Inquisitor.

So now I'm curious: what ramifications do you think there will be for a Lavellan who romanced Solas and drank from the Well (aside from what's happened in game, that is)?

I had a bit of a (crazy) thought today after reading those translated Elvish runes. Just the way they phrased "the sinner belongs to Dirthamen" makes me wonder whether Solas told us an itty bitty white lie when he revealed that the vallaslin are slave markings. He said that "nobles" used them to mark their slaves to honour the gods, but I'm wondering now whether the elvish "gods" sort of... ruled over conclaves of "regular" elves, and marked those followers with vallaslin.

I said it was crazy.

Also, if you haven't seen it already, filthy cheaters have already worked out how to get rid of pyjamas in Skyhold entirely so you can wear your armor instead. Take a look here if you're interested.

Well Dread Wolf doesn't keep slaves, and he refused to bind himself to Cole, so not sure that's quite true.

We don't actually know that.  The Dread Wolf could have kept slaves in the past.  And he may have found a better way to retain immortality or ... I don't know.  I was mostly interested in the other gods, because it has been thrown around quite a bit that the Dread Wolf is a bit of a wild card.  I'm not sure he should be the barometer we use to measure the other gods.  For instance, the only ancient priests we found were Mythal's and we know she's still kicking around so there is a connection between the two.  Perhaps a symbiotic type thing.  Where if Mythal continues then so do the people tied to her and possibly vice versa?

I don't know.  I just think Zathrian is interesting and needs to be cross examined again now that we understand gods better.

I don't know what is happening with the Dread Wolf, but I think it's something crazy awful.  Because the gods were never alone and that seems to be key.  I just don't understand how Dread Wolf and solitude tie together.

I need to understand so I can be properly sad for Solas, dammit.

Also  @IAWL

Dammit Weekes stop making me sad!  I have no more tears.  I'm dying.  Ugh, Solas don't be alone and fatalistic.

At around 5 or so in the AM I got to sleep and then wake up around 11AM. Between 11AM and 5AM, if I haven't been doing school related things...I am usually doing something that relates to Solas in some way, shape, or form. Even when I'm doing non-Solas related things I think about Solas related things. Between 5AM and 11AM, the time in which I am asleep, I sometimes dream of Solas related things. It's up to ya'll to interpret whether this is a joke or not.

We all know it's not a joke and I for one do not judge you.  This is my life now.  I am a fan girl.  ... I don't know how I should feel about that, but I kind of like it.

But it's good to know that you are acting very Solas-y.  You know religiously obsessing over something and talking about it constantly and dreaming about it.

What do you think?

I think he has always been Fen'Harel, and he was either telling the truth about hailing from the village, or it was somewhere that held some sort of meaning to him. He told Leliana it was unlikely to appear on any map, which I took as implying he knew it was long gone. I figure there has got to be some grain of truth in what he said; why lie about that of all things? It'd be so much simpler to just say some big, well known city, or say he left a Dalish clan.
