...or maybe Mythal "escapes" through the Eluvian or... the Old God escapes or... ugh. This makes my head hurt but it's fun
Haha I know right, there are so many possibilities this could go at the moment. I just hope Bioware know what they're doing...

I am not sure, for me it seems like Mythal sends something through the eluvian before she speaks to Solas, what Solas absorbs I am not certain of at all.. Correct me if i am wrong ( haven't played the previous Dragon age games ) But if he absorbs "only" the Old God Sould, would he still be himself? hm.. Ok, I need to to read on wiki again..
Well Kieran, Morrigan's son was a normal kid, according to his mother...
but this gets me thinking... since the Old God soul is not something every player would encounter, since some might not have chosen to do the dark ritual, the ending would have to include all different world states. Meaning: all this has nothing to do with an Old God soul.
And this confuses me even more...

Maybe she put a piece of herself through the Eluvian because she suspected what Solas was going to do, and we've just been assuming it was the Old God Soul.

The scene is the same, but the explanation may change in DLC/DA4/however this gets resolved.
For example, if you did the Dark Ritual, Solas took the Old God soul to strengthen himself. Flemeth is still host to Mythal.
If you didn't do the Dark Ritual, Solas took Mythal. Flemeth probably is still alive in some form with her bazillions of Horcruxes and backup plans, but she no longer has Mythal with her.
Or maybe I'm just grasping at straws because I don't want Solas to be possessed, or Flemeth to be gone. I love both characters.

I don't think it really matters if there is a Kieran or there isn't in your world state - if there is, Mythal simply is simply retrieving it because of a larger plan with Solas.
This has also got me thinking, what's the bet the next game will be in Tevinter, where much of elvish history was forgotten. Tevinter was also the place Andraste 'died' so that makes sense to me for them to explain more of the religious lore.
Oh.. Yeah, so many options! I hope for some DLc news soon! I can wait for them to make it, just let us know if there will be one..

If we go to Tevinter, I wanna sass it up with Dorian, Maevaris, and Calpernia. Four mage party FTW!
More seriously, I think the next major installment has to leave the south of Thedas. The explanations for why the Warden-Commander and Hawke are on the sidelines are a little handwavey, but I can buy them. The Warden-Commander may lead the Ferelden Wardens but there aren't a lot of them, and Hawke is just a person with a bunch of crazy friends, especially if s/he sided with the mages.
But making the quizzy disappear would be rather difficult...so unless we get the option to walk into the Fade with Solas, I think just saying "Poof! There goes the Inquisitor and his/her giant organization" would be a tad silly.

That's a lot of variables to have to account for though. I am sure it's going to be something a lot less complicated, for gameplay reasons and story continuity. To have to explain it as something else for all of the players that didn't do the Dark Ritual.... it's too many threads to keep track of. I am just speculating. These theories and explanations are a lot of fun. And all we have until we get more content. I'm just expecting it to be something that's either not significant, or the same for everyone regardless of World State.

Haha it would be funny if Flemeth would be the one to come out on top of this (again), but wasn't her long life tied to Mythal (at least to some degree)?
It would be nice if Solas "only" took her magic or powers, and not her spirit, but on the other hand that would make him super powerful and kind of freaky scary. Like when he kills those mages on his personal quest in a second or sends the spirit to the Fade with a gesture. (Oh come on quizzy, how can you not realize something is up with that guy lol)

Honestly I see that scene very different than you. Ive completed the game with and without Dark Ritual and nothing changed for me.
If you look at the aura's and color's you'll notice early that Mythal/Flemeth is a blue-silver swirl of energy and silver-blue lightning within the eyes (see meeting Mythal/Flemeth inside fade or outside and attempt to attack her). Only time we see Sola's I believe is at end in this scene where he exits his body and then passes into Flemeth's body. While that is happening Mythal/Flemeth's is swirling outside the body and enter's Sola's.
What I draw from this scene is that Sola's took Flemeth's body to die even though he was needed still because it was his mistake that caused this end. Mythal/Flemeth now enhabits Sola's body (see eyes at end, exactly like he's before she absorbed old god soul).

I do recall the devs saying at some point that they regretted making something as plot-critical as the Dark Ritual a player choice, because it made writing and coding for that decision going forward an utter nightmare. So maybe Flemythal just absorbed Urthemiel completely if you did the Ritual, and she's a little more powerful going forward. That's not something that will make or break the worldstate, but it still gives a nod to the player's decision back in Origins.

Oo yeah based on the love Dorian has been getting I hope they include him in the next game!
Perhaps the warden's disappearance has something to do with the 'archdemons' coming back. Part of Mythal/Solas' plan? Ehh who knows.
I think the Inquisitor should have a role in the next game though, especially since that mark is on her hand permanently. Oh and not to forget she could also be bound to Mythal for life.

Personally, I doubt that he's just dead. Why bother breaking up with Lavellan, sketching out a last fresco in Skyhold, evading the Inquisition's agents, wiping Cole's memory of his destination, and seeking out Flemeth if he just wanted to die? It would've been easier to just spike himself on one of Corypheus's head crystals or jump into a high dragon's stomach ![]()
I think both Solas and Flemeth are still around in some form, but we just don't know enough from that short stinger to determine who has which body, and what souls are rattling around inside.
I am curious if solas is gone due to the whole possession, I wonder how lavellan would react to that? I know mine would be rather sadden by that news.
But I am hoping that solas isn't replaced by flemythal ![]()

Agreed. I suppose it's possible that Solas died in that scene, but it would seem entirely senseless in the end to reveal Fen'Harel only to have him commit "suicide by Flemeth" right away, especially since he's a character that they invested into a companion and romance slot.
Solas seems to speak through Cole in the post-game, so I don't think he's dead.

Yep, and he's very much so in character. #herestohoping

I'm sure mine can look past the whole "being an empty vessel for Flemeth" thing and learn to love him how he is.

Argh, none of my ideal Christmas presents exist yet. Hoping we someday make a Solas necklace or the Bull "Kadan" necklace.
DLC will be
Spoiler
I said stop looking at me that way!
Oh dear... thank you for the laugh ![]()
Solavellans this is our chance! Let us rain tears upon their twitter souls!
I tweeted: I used to have indomidable focus! He took that away from me.
I saw that tweet.
My tweet was just something boring about how I wanted to both punch him and hug him. LOL

omg imagine the conversation Lavellan needs to have with Solas should they ever meet again
Lavellan: So... let me get this right. You are the Dread Wolf but called yourself Solas?
Solas: Yes.
Lavellan: And then you took the spirit of Mythal in?
Solas: This is correct.
Lavellan: And Flemeth's spirit as well?
Solas: Indeed.
Lavellan: ...and the Old God, too?
Solas: Also true.
Lavellan: ....... so.....
Solas: I am still the same, Lethallin.
Lavellan: ....but... if you are the host to Mythal.... Morrigan is bound to you?
Solas: ....Yes?
Lavellan: Can you command her?
Solas: Why do you ask?
...
later that day
...
Morrigan: I can't believe he's making me do this!
Sera: Oh, bugger off! I'm not going to learn Elven from you!
The full-faced tattoos one makes me think of Braveheart too much. That's why I haven't used them. I actually prefer the flowy, vine looking ones. LOL
