He took on a form reserved to the gods.

He dared to fly

He took wings.

A dragon?

Flemythal would suggest that the elven gods could take dragon forms.  So it seems likely...  I don't know if that codex is referring to Solas, since he's considered an elven god, so it shouldn't be forbidden to him in that case.  Unless it happens to be referring to Solas *before* he was considered a god.  Or maybe that's another thing we're getting wrong about his previous status.  Provided that's about Solas at all.

Abelas already said the dread wolf had nothing to do with betrayal. And it's already pointed out that it's Dirthamen. This is assumed to be what Dirthamen looks like:

pAQav9T.png

No, the culprit wasn't Dirthamen.  It said "the sinner belongs to Dirthamen."  So, the "sinner" in question was either a slave or servant to Dirthamen.  It could have been Fen'harel prior to his becoming deified, but I agree this does seem dubious.

As for the Maker's fire and order... perhaps the Chantry is somehow based around Elgar'nan?  I recall him being associated with fire.

Similar has happened in the real world... gods were traded and borrowed between ancient cultures.

It happens a lot actually, I usually care most when it came to Solas and I picked something that looked good and then my Lavellan said something entirely different. Got disapproved and immediately reloaded last save :|

I choose the option she says 'you learn to become weary' or something of the sort and they got all bite-y.

Then Varric intervened and said 'Can't you elves play nice for a change?'

Was not expecting that reaction o_o

Didn't bother reloading since approval was non existent at the time.

I always save game before I start a convo with Solas

No, no, banal nadas  :D We can hope for the best and brace the blanket fort for the worst.

Okay, okay, thank you!   <3  I will help keep the faith.

Here's Solas' new boyish bro Mahanon.  (Mahanon, Mahariel, what is BioWare trying to say to us, hmm?)  Anyway, he's a bit of a scamp and I'm pretty sure he likes older women.   ;)

And a BIG thank you to whoever it was that spoke about sweetfx.  It has totally changed my graphics.

Yes, and Solas rags on the worshippers when you find out that they pretty much turned their high priest into a demon and then dismembered him and left him there for all eternity.  I mean, who *does* that?  More and more it looks to me that the elven gods were severely tainted at the end, and it must have happened so slowly that everyone went along with it and never questioned.

Could this be related to Solas in any way (since he's a traitor of sorts)?

tumblr_ngos42z6UY1r5lt6mo2_1280.png

It's the translation of what one of the voices in the Well of Sorrows says after you drink from it.

Its written in the Codex.

(Someone posted it in the Cullen thread. Idk if this entry's already been discussed here, but there it is.)

Maybe it means he took someone else's wings (e.g. the gods)

Aw, thanks.  I think so too!  I just had to use Abelas' skin tone even if he looks a bit green in some light.  :P

Of course, a winged shape doesn't necessarily equal "dragon."  What if he took the form of, say, a griffon?

Brings on a new meaning when he says you would fly in riding a griffon. HEYOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thanks I'll be here all night.

Something you both forget is that Mythal died, or was killed yet part of what she is remains. Remember what Sola said about his 'wisdom spirit' friend, that they are not truely dead.

I think whatever the Elvhen Pantheon is, they are beyond even what spirits are. Mythal isnt strong enough to survive another death, yet Solas is. Given his mistakes in the past, his ones lately he'd not risk Mythal at all, so we've not seen last of him, though I think the price he paid for his mistake with the Orb is that he can take a body, nor form himself. What he truely is hasnt passed nor who he is either, just reduced to a 'whisp' of what he once was, and like Mythal will take time to return or even join with another to semi return.

While everyone's reasoning for why they think Mythal took over Solas' body, rather than Solas taking Mythal's power/spirit/whatever, is solid enough, I still don't buy it. Why would Solas walk over, looking all mopey, saying he SHOULD be the one to pay the price BUT... and then sacrifice himself? The people NEED him, after all. It doesn't make sense for him to justify his reasoning for why he can't pay the price, and then go ahead and pay it anyway.

That, uh, looks a lot like a Fear demon, doesn't it?

Especially since (I think) we're the only ones who have no choice in the outcome of the romance. He breaks it off and leaves, while other LI's talk about how they're going to be together afterwards. I chose Cullen as an LI the first time, and really like his romance as well. But it’s kind of disappointing to see how little content Solas has compared to Cullen. No sex scene is fine, but there isn’t even an option to kiss him whenever we’d like. I hope Bioware keeps this in mind for the future ;)

Not to mention that you only get locked in to Solas' romance the moment he breaks it off. Which still puzzles, and mildly frustrates me.

Why not lock it in at the scene on the balcony? That seems more logical. Nope, it turns out if you are committed and don't break it off first, you get locked into the relationship the moment it's over. Thanks.

I dunno, maybe that's the same for all the romances, that it locks in at the last scene with the LI.

Maybe his leaving the Inquisitor is somehow his way of committing to her.  He loves her so much he can't risk using her, or losing her to whatever he's about to face alone.  Still, it stinks that he doesn't give her any real say in the matter...

But it's odd because you can tell him "Yeah I want this," and... you know, then it's over?  It doesn't feel like it's over because that's when he is most committed, too.  Because he finally is trying to tell the Inquisitor how much he cares about her...

Bioware will sure have its hands full trying to untie the knot that is the whole elven gods+dragons+old gods+fen'harel and mythal+dirthammen+betrayal+prison in the Beyond+foci affair.

It's possible (and likely, due to Sandal's prophecy and Arl Foreshadow) they already know what they're planning, and what's to come.  We're the ones left scratching our heads, theorizing.  It will make sense in due time, or so one must hope.

That said, I hope they invest a bit more in the main story next time, too.  Exploring and side quests are fun and all, but I love the stories from BioWare... the characters are still awesome, at least.  Yay Solas. :D

I find that moment curious as well. You commit to the romance, then he breaks it off. It actually gives me hope that the romance can continue, and work out one way or the other.

I actually rather enjoyed Morrigan talking about her relationship with the Warden. "We are both not such weak creatures as to fall dead from loneliness", or something to that affect. But they are happy.

I thought "Beyond+foci" said "Beyoncé" and I got suuuuuper confused about what she had to do with this entire elven mess.

But then I remember that Queen Bey is the answer to everything.

Spoiler

I wonder if it is at all relevant that they refer to him as a Keeper. Can't really tell if it's capitalized with that font, but it looks like it might be. It would also explain why Keepers tend to...keep the knowledge of the clan and don't disseminate it to everyone.

The line she has with Alistair if the Warden dies breaks my heart, "I could have had them both..." Her VA (forget who it is) delivers her lines so well

So I've never brought Solas to the Temple I heard he gets his jimmies twisted when you find Falon'Din's mural, is this true?
