I think all this is a lot of fun and the writers are probably happy about it. I mean the whole thing has the fandom on its feet, revisiting everything, sharing theories, bonding, solving this giant puzzle... and we all seem to enjoy it so far

 

I wasn't hoping for anything like that, and I think Bioware did a fantastic job in bringing us a game that pulls us in so deep even after finishing it. To me it means the universe they created is solid and fascinating, and I really hope everyone involved in creating this knows how much this is appreciated! I'd give the whole team high fives if I could. DA:I is so much fun, it spurs my creativity, fills me with ideas and led me to a kind community. 

 

uff, okay. I just felt I needed to say this once, with all the threads complaining about the contents and all.

Yeah, I've discussed/lurked on the forums on and off since Origins was in development, but I've actually never been compelled to post this much till Inquisition. I really think the Dragon Age universe contains the best work Bioware have done so far. And this is coming from someone who loved and obsessively replayed Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights back in the day.

 

Honestly sometimes I feel like it might be just as much fun discussing and speculating with the community as it is playing the actual game!

Mmmm.. I love DAI too, and loved DAO.

They are seperate games, they occur in the same world, share characters but they are different in many ways.

People are looking for Dragon Age Origins 2.

Yeah anything goes I guess. I can see more than two people too, so it's a stretch, but it would be a fun thing to be able to do, go through the previous games looking for clues. I know I am crazy, I take pictures of all murals and statues I find interesting along with codex entries that might be relevant. Talk about desperate for clues.

Ajna are you trying to make me figure out weather I kept the DA2 discs somewhere or not? Actually I might be able to play DA2 without the constant screaming in anger now, as I know I have DAI to follow up.

 

I have been here for years too, during DAO, but I think I deleted my account or the account got deleted around DA2 due to inactivity? I decided not to rant on BSN, instead I ranted to my poor ex. This time I gush to said ex (father of child, best friend). I hadn't said anything DAI/BSN-related in a few days and he asked what was happening, missing my updates.

This is just a hunch, but perhaps the Lyrium Idol was Mythal's Focus, similar to how the Orb was Solas'. They certainly both have similar powers, also being a repository of Mythal's power (goddess of justice/vengeance) could explain why Meredith went off the deep end. If the idol has been blighted then it's been corrupted from its original purpose.

Remember how Solas asked if the Anchor has changed the Inquisitor at all? Perhaps the Elven Foci can change the personality of a mortal bearer to that of its patron deity?

 

If so, Mythal has very creepy taste. Seriously. 

 

That is actually what I pondering about quite a while.

After the balcony scene I was expecting to see his Tarot change but it didn't, I was really surprised since he began calling her in affectionate names (even though she could still flirt with others!), there was also party banter afterwards, asking about their relationship.. And that one conversation with Sera I'll never be able to forget ("ELVEN GLORY!").

It's like - you are allowed to get out at any time (since this obviously will end badly) but maybe if you stick 'till the end you'll get rewarded?

Blackwall, for example, was nothing like that. After a couple of flirting you couldn't really flirt with a lot of the other characters, and after some more flirting most of the characters and if you'd want - you'd have to break up with him first.

 

So...you were still able to initiate romances with other people right up until before the break up scene?

 

I'm pretty sure it DOES lock in after the balcony scene, its just the achievement doesn't come up until the break up scene. I *tried* to initiate a romance with Cullen on my first play through (I wanted to see if "the game" considered Solas and Lavellan to be in a relationship, because I was like "HE KEEPS RUNNING AWAY!"). But Cullen was all like "uh, you're already with someone. Totes not appropriate."

what would I give for a scene with Solas in which you can play chess or Diamonback with him, and he tells you about his family (do mystical Dread Wolves have families?   ). And then you try to cheat and he teases you about it, lips curled to a smile...

That's how I was my first playthrough- my Lavellan only flirted with Solas.  After that, it was a free-for-all flirtfest and everyone got hit on.

I hope the VA's either play the game or listen to YouTube videos so they get to hear their lines together with the other actors'. Cole and Solas' VAs are pitch perfect, especially with each other.
