Yes.they do have a similar shape,but still I think the look in Solas' eyes is "colder"...Maybe a little more like this.

There was also another elf with Violet eyes in the books (The masked empire in particular),which  probably doesn't mean anything...But I remember a very interesting theory about him in the old Thread.which kind connects that particular elf with Solas. But I won't say more because many people haven't read/finished the book,so Spoilers.

Wow, so I'm getting really excited again to learn about Solas, whenever that happens.  I love all of the implications that come from Dorian's reveal potentially giving us insight into our little elf.  Gotta admit my interest in Solas is/was flagging a bit, but today helps a lot

Excellent news for Dorian fans, sounds like a really interesting character.  I expected him to have knowledge of necromancy after seeing the E3 demo and I am glad that is not Solas' role.

His nickname will be The Bald.

Okay this Nicolas cage comparison? I just don't see any resemblance at all...yes maybe they have the same type of eyes but that's all I see. 

 

If Solas is snarky I can see Sheryl Chee writing him cause I mean come on she wrote Oghren for crying out loud and Isabela.

or Patrick, Gaider, or Mary could have really wanted Solas (gaider in particular, have you seen his profile pic it just screams "I love elves and trolls") but no matter which one is writing him I am sure he'll be a cool character to interact with and for others...pop that boody...uh just forget I said that lol

Quizzy sits down not taking her/his eyes of Solas. Sitting down Solas profile lights up by the fireplace and his long eyelashes are more visible taking Quizzy's breath away.

 

Solas then notices her/his gaze.

 

Solas: ehm ... heh,.. W-why are you looking at me like that?

 

Quizzy: W-what, I wasn't - I mean.. OH MY WHAT INTERESTING BOOKS YOU HAVE. 

 

Quizzy quickly moves to the bookself, visibly blushing. As Solas notices the the tip of Quizzy's ears are bright red. Shocked but happy he chuckles for himself as he just found out that the feelings are mutual.

Evidence does point to Solas being bisexual (I would say Cullen has a chance as well but it is so hard to tell where his character will go) Hope that makes ya feel better. I would like for everyone to have as many of their preferred options as possible.   Alas, it is in Bioware's hands.

Sheryl Chee may have written Leliana again. But she didn't want to say if she did, so we don't know for sure.

 

I think all the writers are capable of writing good snark if Twitter is anything to go by.

I'd be in the same boat if I didn't develop more of a love for Iron Bull over the past couple of weeks! And Cullen's a'ight but I haven't quite fallen in love with him (not to say that I won't). I'd still much rather Solas, though. I'm glad Dorian is gay because my interest in him as a LI took a free-fall lately for reasons I'm not sure about. He still sounds like a pretty awesome guy, though! He and Viv are making it difficult to fight the urge to have an all mage party all the time

So Solas is our rift mage and a Fade expert. This reminds me of the theory that Solas somehow guides the Inquisitor through the Fade at the beginning of the game. That probably won't happen but I still think that would be an awesome way to meet a character!

Reading through some of the other threads makes me wonder if the current niche popularity Solas has will drop if he is revealed to not be a love interest. What do you think? Will you be less inclined to come here and discuss him if all he'll ever be to you is a good friend? We won't really know how interesting he is as a character until his reveal and future gameplay, so for now all we have to go on is his appearance and speculation. The mystery is alluring; will having turn out to not be so good as wanting?
