It's older right? I don't know if they moved the original Cullen thread over but he's been popular since DA:O so it makes sense that there's more of his thread than Solas'. I'd love to see the rate of growth though. Wonder if we beat them in posts per day.

 

 

Anyway....so I just drew someone else's Lavellan Inquisitor and now I want to do more! Just portraits, no promise on the quality or how similar they will be because I'm still working on consistency and such but...if two or three of ya'll want to send me refs of your Lavellan >.>

Weren't there also audio files for a male!Shepard/Kaiden and femShep/Ash romances in ME1 that were never intended to be used?  They just got recorded because Hale and Meer were given the same scripts?

 

Apparently, yeah.  But Ryn said earlier that someone that worked for BW (as in used to) said that he was supposed to be bi, I didn't know that.

As a little 1500-page celebration I wrote a very quick (so excuse the quality!) sonnet in honour of Solas.

 

A life too long is mine.  I made mistakes,

Yet still I try to see this world remade.

Time and again I travel to the Fade

To know what I have done and what I break.

Of all the things I thought that I would find

It was not love; yet you made the world shift

And not just horror has come from that rift

But truth and beauty, light where I was blind.

 

A thousand years were spent in restless sleep

And many more I’ve walked the world alone

Until the day I led you to the Keep -

Ma’lath, in you I found my only home.

And yet I knew I fell too hard, too deep,

I broke your heart, so doing broke my own.

Lavellan says she's wanted a unicorn since she got her hands on a storybook when she was a child. Sera hates Boggy, and doesn't mind telling Lavellan how it is. Something like that isn't suppose to exist. It's gross, the way its skin sticks to its bones and how its so called 'horn' is a sword sticking right through its skull. It's not a unicorn, it's creepy. It's creeper than Creepy him--itself. She doesn't understand how Creepy and Solas could be so taken with it. Well, actually she could.

 

It was always going to be the Bog Unicorn.

From what I understand of the situation (and feel free to correct me on this), Kaidan and Ashley were going to be available to a Shepard of either gender, but the company decided to pull it for various reasons. Like, they decided having all of the romanceable companions available to all was unrealistic?

 

In terms of Cullen and Solas, if Bioware does not include in a patch that allows them to be romancable by either gender, I'm going to continue treating them as they are now. Because there are many things that are conceived in the process of making the game, but ultimately get scrapped. All the audio files show is that at one point they were considered to be options to male inquisitors. If this changes in a patch, I have no problem recognizing them as bisexual.

It was never quiet in the library. High up in the rafters were Leliana’s messengers, always complaining and chatting as birds tended to do, and the floor below that tended to be filled with the sounds of researchers talking and Dorian’s loud scoffs whenever he read something stupid.

Nevertheless, the library was quiet today.

All the usual sounds were distant, faded. Lavellan didn’t even know why she was there, except that she’d walked this way so many times in the months at Skyhold. Everything was just he’d left it. Books and notes scattered on the desk, one of the oasis shards next to sketches of elven artefacts, the tea set she’d brought him in Val Royeaux as a joke she was never sure he’d entirely appreciated. She expected to see Solas at his desk, or painting, or mediating or just being the consistent presence he’d been in her life since Haven.

It is true, he is adorable (even though I haven't romanced him - because I cant'. Because Solas exists in this game).

If I hadn't romanced Cullen on my first playthrough it never would have happened. Stupid sexy bald elf!!!

That said, it makes me a little sad to hear people imply the Cullenmance is fluff and second-rate compared to Solas. I thought the Cullen storyline was a beautiful depiction of a mature, healthy relationship that had to overcome some serious issues. Really one of the best romances Bioware has written, IMO.

The romance with Solas is different and addicting in the way bad boys tend to be. I wouldn't say it's better. Just different.

Not just everything that reminded him of Lavellan, but everything from his life in the Inquisition.  I don't think Solas planned on leaving.  I do think he meant to explain everything once he got his foci back.

All I can say is that this once tiny little community and thread grasping at straws and hot pepper candies has become quite the large place filled with the best lore discussion on the BSN by far! Congrats, Solas thread!

There are a few moments when Sera doesn't mind Cole, and that's when they're around Blackwall. Lavellan and Solas are both very grateful towards him for keeping Sera and Cole occupied from time to time so they can exist in peace. They'd both been rather attached to Lavellan lately for some unfathomable reason. Solas suggested that perhaps Blackwall could make a rocking griffin large enough for kids the size of Sera and Cole to playy on. If he did that, Lavellan pointed out, he'd have to make two.

I know I know, I wanted to romance him when I was a mage for a split second in DAO, but still.

You would've assumed some of the Cullenmancers would've moved to Solas by now (no, not really, it's a slow process).

Oh well, they will see the light (maybe)

 

I dont know... Cullenmance is really a fluffy ride to candyland, but it is a well done one.

 

Theres no excess angst, (just a little fear from the lyrium withdrawal, but you cant go wrong if you trust in him... so no hard choice there). lots of interaction and happy ending. So kuddos to the writers, im sure it pleases lots of people.

 

Now I dont think theres a need to a follow up on that romance... cause what would you do, have him fall back to lyrium use? Have him be kindnapped and in need of saving? Solas on the other hand is a gem of potential for dlc (where ever that takes us).
