I just had a brief conversation with a friend that isn't interested in Solas, whatsoever and he just beat the game -- I asked him, what he thought about the ending and Solas... and he says something along these lines... "Oh, my elven manservant? He better get back to my castle and finish my mural." >_<

I guess I'd really just like to see what the ancient elven court was like. I picture a mixture of ancient Rome and Tolkien.
I'd prefer no one be on their knees, that Solas and Lavellan would stand as equals.

As much as I want to see this man in all his elven glory, hobo apostate Solas still holds a special place in my heart. Also I am done braving Tumblr. That place has gotten very, very scary.

Fully agreed. It'd be ecstatic to travel back -- since we've experienced traveling forward. Solas does seem genuinely surprised about the time travel magic, but not nearly as obsessed with it as I thought he should be, haha.
Honestly, I'm also intrigued by what the Dwarves lost -- all these ruins! I'd love to see them before that... ruination thing happened.

I hope for a mixture of both? I don't want it to seem like Lavellan/the Inquisition is just sitting around waiting for him to call them up and do stuff for him. I hope they meet up because they have similar or conflicting goals afield somewhere.

Didn't they say the time magic was tied to the opening of the big Rift, and that it wasn't possible to travel back before then? Sadly I don't think we'll be going to Arlathan or the old Dwarven empire anytime soon.

If he comes to the inquisition, he better be crawling back with apologies though, my Lavellan is NOT going to be pleased if he comes back with that cold distant attitude he adopted after the break up - he'd need to come clean... I think that is what I would prefer.
Having to hunt him down would be very hard for my Lavellan... painful and awkward.

I´m just imaging the scene where he reveals his true identity, what if it´s in the crossroads, with him showing you memories from Arlathan? And "Lost Temple" playing

Hm. On another topic, I remember madrar going on a meta-tangent about how Solas might be sensing the Player controlling the Inqjuisitor's actions.
On a certain level, would that then mean that it's us, the players, romancing Solas, and not our Inquisitors, for story purposes? That he's in love with the player, not Lavellan?
At that point it gets kind of weird, doesn't it? Much as I adore the romances, I play them for my characters, not for me...
Still I thought that theory was very interesting, and quite possibly true, at least on some level.
It does get a little weird. =w= Still, I think there's something there, even if it's just Bioware occasionally nudging us about game-as-fade parallels and opportunities for "real" change. As for awkward, it definitely puts an odd spin on some Solavellan interactions, but most of the relevant comments aren't romance gated, and Solas isn't the only one who can sense something beyond the surface.
It's a lot weird...lol... but makes sense with the game's themes and parallels about the fade/veil, masquerades, etc. So if he's a character that knows he's in a game/virtual reality, the real/meta reason he ends the "romance" is because the game is about to end. I remember when I first did his personal quest, I thought of the poem "dream within a dream". He wants to save the wisdom spirit he befriended, but can't save or keep any of them, and is going to die alone. That's so tragic.
