I just had a brief conversation with a friend that isn't interested in Solas, whatsoever and he just beat the game -- I asked him, what he thought about the ending and Solas... and he says something along these lines... "Oh, my elven manservant? He better get back to my castle and finish my mural." >_<

This made me legit lol.

Re: Cullen and Solas being Bi.

I always sort of assumed Solas was meant to be Bi from the start because of the Vallaslin removal scene. Would have made sense to have a version of that scene for any Dalish elf that he respected.

My question is does he remove the Vallaslin for a female Dalish elf that he isn't romancing? I don't think any of us have had enough self control to have a female elf and not romance Solas lol.

In any case I don't mind that they aren't Bi in the game, **** happens, no time, no resources. Plenty of hot gay guys I'd happily bang if they were straight but alas. Maybe in the future they could make that a thing. Maybe they won't. In a perfect world they would make Solas be into human girls too because my Trev def wants to hit that. And Cullen. At the same time. No regrets.

Maybe it's just because I love Dune, but I did get some Dune-ish vibes from some of the ancient elven stuff, particularly the Well of Sorrows.  Rather reminiscent of drinking the Water of Life.

I continue to wonder if there's an optional god-baby in the future, which is something that wouldn't be possible for a male Lavellan.  I would totally be okay with that even though I normally dislike pregnancy plots, as long as it's optional and declining doesn't hurt one's relationship with Solas... I just think it'd be a neat little wrap-up to the romance, perhaps available in the final DLC so we don't get to see the pregnancy/baby/etc. until next game, when we are no longer the Inquisitor.

 

TBH that's what I thought could've been the reason for him to be female elf specific...

 

Nevertheless I agree male Lavellan should know about the part with vallaslin, but it is reasonable to think that it might come up in a DLC (if it's Solas focused) since it would probably be a DLC about the Elvhen (otherwise it will be difficult to explain Solas' motives).

I feel bad saying this, but I don't think I'd enjoy the game as much if Solas hadn't been a romance option.  There's just something really special there that I can't truly describe.

I'll even take a more ambiguous ending that can be headcanoned as happy.  I have seriously come up with so many potential horrible, depressing, drowning-in-feels endings.  It would be nice to be able to rule them out.

I am going to expect a Wolf Hunt or at least some kind of continuation until someone says otherwise. The romance doesn't feel finished. Patrick Star Weekes is mean and did that twitter bird thing, which he totally wouldn't do if he didn't plan on making us happy later, right? Right?

No removal scene if you're not romancing him, even as a F!Lavellan. It is romance-exclusive, and the only 100% romance-exclusive scene at that.

I didn't get that or Cole's banter since I bolted through to the end after What Pride Hath Wrought.  TBH I'm glad I did it that way; I can always YouTube the banters, and the endgame pacing is bad enough without breaking the momentum to run around the Hissing Wastes or whatever.

We've all become a lot more optimistic about the idea of a DLC, can anyone guess why?

It seems like I, and many others here, are quite certain that there would be a DLC

I think my Lavellan's official line is for everyone to be professional and leave each other alone.  She can't really enforce that with Cole, but for everyone else, she expects them to behave like grownups.  She's barely holding it together what with the breakup and the earth-shattering revelations and Corypheus on her doorstep.  She doesn't have any mental energy left to babysit everyone.

 

That doesn't mean that they can't give him the stink-eye when she's not looking though
