I'll say this again, don't forget Patrick Weekes was the only writer who wanted an option to save Thane. They really need to listen to him more...
I actually never knew this. Patrick Weekes really is the best
... It definitely gives me more hope. Especially the way Weekes has been teasing us. I don't think he'd be doing this if it was really the end of Solas and Lavellan.
Not sure this was a mod, I think is just someone very good with photoshop. We can't mod shapes in moving characters yet
Oh I thought it was retexturing like what was done with the Skyhold pajamas
This so much this!!All is wanted was a fancy dress for the fancy ball. Also I think Solas would look twice as good in blue it will bring out his eyes! And I thought Solas already looked fine in the red. This just took it to a whole new level.

This made me want to hug him. Again. I think that the reason why I can't play any other race except elf is this one. Because he is in pain and the only way to truly make him happy at least for some time is to play a pretty elf lady, who can listen and understand that inner pain without words.
Solas... I don't think I've ever wanted to both hug a character and shake the stuffing out of them quite so much before. He's in so much pain but he won't let anyone help him. His greatest fear is dying alone, but by his own design he's always on the outside looking in. And he's preparing to throw himself on the sword because he's too stubborn and lonely and proud to ask for help. But despite all of his questionable decisions, he's always tried to do the right things for the right reasons, and he's constantly struggling with himself over what "right" really is.

yeah Weekes is one of my favorite writers.
Nah I don't think Weekes would be doing this either if it was the end. I truly loved Mordin he is one of my favorite characters Weekes wrote, but Solas is truly my number 1 favorite by far.
I'm also hoping that once modders are able to truly mod meshes we get an edited version of Morrigan's ball gown I loved that gown and was kinda jelly at the formal attire we had to wear at the ball after seeing that gown I was sitting there thinking really man if I had the choice I'd rather attend this ball completely nude than wear this masculine formal attire
I could just Imagine Solas trying to cover Levallan up all blushing and really beat red in the face or the possibility of dragging her off for well use your own imaginations

Maybe Im the only one who wondered about it but replaying the game with all the knowledge I keep feeling like Solas might often be in his room thinking 'Ok she made that choice, so it changes things, but I can still get to my goal by doing this and that. Might be more complicated but I can still get around it' . All the headache so he doesnt have to be forthcoming >.<

I am not arguing, but hugs can cure anything. You just need a lot of them.

I didn't really interpret him as planning everything out that closely. In his interactions with the Inquisitor, you can clearly see that he's trying to stay distant, but he almost always allows himself to be persuaded into talking more. You can just see him struggling between gratifying your curiosity and not giving too much away. Because, really, he likes being talked to. He doesn't want to be isolated. It's what he fears most in the world. To have lived and died with nobody understanding him. If you go back through the game, you can see that 90% of what he tells you is the truth. And whenever you call him out for inconsistencies, he fumbles a bit. I don't think he wants to lie to you. His heart just isn't in it. But he feels that he has to in order to stay with the Inquisition.
So this has probably been brought up before but I've been working on my second playthrough, with Solas as a romance and I have a question in regards to the Well of Sorrows. We know he's pissed off if you decide to drink from it, but do we know why? He seemed to want to preserve any Ancient Elven artifacts but he didn't want the Inquisitor or Morrigan to drink from the Well (well I know why he didn't want Morrigan to drink lol). Also when you ask him to drink from it, he gives you a clipped answer of "no thank you, leave it at that."
Also towards the end, when he talks to Flemeth/Mythal, we know he absorbs something, Mythal's soul? Flemeth's? So does that mean that if the Inquisitor drinks from the Well, towards the end she's tied to Solas?
Yum!

He definitly seems relieved when ever he gets to tell his stories, thats why I thought its a good thing, it lets him relax, lets him share whats important to him and connect. Thats part of why him pulling away at the end just is so wrong for him as it is for Quizzy. Its like step back, on a personal level because 'duty'.
Same thing he reporached to the wardens when you think of it.
And I thought Solas already looked fine in the red. This just took it to a whole new level.

I really need to write my Winter Palace fic. It has fancy dresses. So many fancy dresses.
You can have the conversation about the Breach being caused by some sort of artifact in Haven. He says he won't believe the artifact is broken until he holds the pieces in his hands (harsh, Weekes, harsh). So he probably does know before the attack on Haven.
The Warden stuff and the elven god stuff may be tied together. I'm thinking there's value in the idea that the origin of the Blight and the elven gods had something to do with one another.
Solas is there with us as we attempt to close the Breach the first time. He hears Corypheus' voice in the ruined Temple of Sacred Ashes. He GAVE the orb to Cory, so he KNOWS Cory's voice. If he didn't know what happened earlier than that, he KNOWS by the end of the Prologue/Tutorial.

No they added a sash and other stuff that would require a new 3D model

My xmas mod is though if you want to take some screenies with a xmasy lavellan theme
Just don't use it to quest, inventory screens might get goofy. And don't save anything with the mod if you will want to play that save again without the mod. (game doesn't load the saves done with the mod, after you erased the mod)

I hope they don't go the DA:2 route with DLC either, though I'm not sure what post-game DLC would look like since everyone is down at least one companion, and it's pretty easy to be down two or three (do Cassandra and/or Viv leave if they become Divine? I've only ever gone with Leliana). So one could potentially be down two warriors or two mages, which would be no bueno unless they introduce a temporary companion. Which would be weird in and of itself with the kind of DLC I've heard them talk about (new areas with one main quest and a few side-quests).
But what do I know? I also find it weird that they said they're not going to do an Awakenings-style expansion after they made a game that is so clearly in need of a major expansion and not just fluff DLC (I am looking at you Mark of the Assassin, you enjoyable but ultimately irrelevant excursion). They could be planning to release DA:4 on an expedited schedule, but why would they take that risk after DA:2? And would they really give you a new protag to deal with the Solas/Mythal stuff that was started with the Inquisitor? The DLC/future game situation is probably the biggest source of DA anxiety for me because I can't figure out what they're likely to do...
Yeah, this topic has been stressing me out for about a week...ok 2 weeks...ok every since I finished my first character. I really really want more and I really want answers. I think a DLC would just be a little band-aid on a gaping sword-wound. I really want the continuation to be done well and thoroughly, but heavens to murgatroyd am I impatient.
Also, this game has made me highly paranoid and suspicious. I just started a new playthrough and I overanalyze every little crumb that BioWare has put in this game. I have told myself to just stop, because all the info is so vague that I won't be able to reach an accurate conclusion. I mean this game is littered with hints about what Solas and to some extent even Blackwall are.
Pre-DAI I had so many crackpot theories and the only ones I got correct where that Corypheenus was the Elder One and that Varric knew where Hawke was. Basically, my guess is as good as everyone elses.

in my first game i had a schematic to make new formal wear (that i only found out i had after the ball... maybe i got it after the ball?). i remember it quite clearly because i was surprised that it made decent armor.
yeah Weekes is one of my favorite writers.

Just a quick note, Solas might not be so much racist (in terms of only romancing elves) as just never seen any of those types of people most of his life. I know that we are all mega perverts here, but imagine if you lived in an empire where everyone pretty much was an elf. They didn't imagine of other sentient creatures and didn't really bother to expand their world view. I kinda see the elvehn empire as a bit narcissistic.
He wakes up thousands of years later and he see what he interprets as very large women with round ears and small eyes. It might be a bit creepy to him in the "uncanny valley" way since they look similar but slightly not right. There are also very small people and very large people with horns. As with all things, he needs to get used to this in order understand. He can't change overnight. Like if you saw a huge tentacle creature with 17 eyes and it was like "OMG why don't you love me?". I mean eventually I would love to have sex with this creature but I need to get to know it first. What if the tentacle creature doesn't even like Lorde? Incompatible.
I assume in like a few 100 years he would have gotten dirty with any race, such is the nature of immortals. They get bored and probably would try anything at some point.
In the Greek myths, "bored immortals" is where creatures like centaurs and harpies came from. Icky.

Solas doesn't want the Inquisitor to drink, because she'll be bound to Mythal. But he also acknowledges that they can't leave it there for Corypheus to take. I think it's understandable he's upset even if he realizes there was little choice. And he wasn't going to drink because Mythal having complete control over him might be worse than Mythal having control over a regular person. He couldn't take that risk, especially since he still sees himself with a lot of important things to do.
The ending is very debatable... But yeah, if Solas has taken Mythal's soul/power, I imagine that means he'd have control over an Inquisitor who drank from the well.

I'd kill for an artist to draw that scene out of Solas trying to cover Levallan up all blushing and really beat red in the face

YES! I can't wait to read it!
I need to get back into writing fics too. Solas has certainly inspired me to do so.

I believe Solas doesnt want anyone to drink from the Well, but he also doesnt want to tell the Inquisitor why, because it would mean explaining things 'he shouldnt know' / doesnt want to share. So he lets the Inquisitor make a choice without knowledge of what it would do to him/her when he could have.
Which is the trainwreck one would expect to happen from the start with not reavaling who he is (or at least some sort of ancient elf).

Yeah I think it's hard to tell because there isn't enough information about what he plans to do. Also I can understand him being upset because maybe he doesn't want the Inquisitor more involved in his and Mythal's plans. He feels guilty as it is.
I mean at this point, I don't even know if Solas is something like Anders or Flemeth, a mortal sharing a body with an immortal being or Solas physically being the Dread Wolf. I imagine that whatever happens next, will have a lot to do on whether he/she drank from the Well or not. I feel that decision wouldn't even be there if it wasn't important.
Also can I say I understand people when they said Solas is one of the best Bioware romances. He's such a Sour Patch kid! lol This romance was all kinds of sweet and sour. It hurts so good, I'm not even joking. Totally invested here!
