No.... Just... No...

I go hiding in some corner now to cry my eyes out...

And I still believe we will have something like a HEA or at least HFN... Mr. Weekes is way to smug for anything else..

Oh, this not my preferred scenario, by any means, but it would be a great boss fight; especially since I would be trying to see the damn screen through a flood of tears while I fought it.  Then the end... it would be so sappy and tragic.  I can't help it, I'm like Cassandra, I eat that **** up.

If there is a boss fight I'd still rather have one where we fight multi eyed wolf Solas and have an interrupt where we can hug him and the power of love changes him to peaceful looking wolf Solas and they live happily ever after and the dinosaurs spend the rest of their days entertaining children at the Museum of Natural History.

I know, right? Since we're being morbid here, I'll go ahead and post the scenario like running around in my head for the final DAI DLC:
L: I can't let you do this.
S: Vhenan, do not force this choice on me.
L: Choice? What choice have you left me? You would drown this world in fire as surely as Corypheus, all for your pride, and you speak to me of choice?
S: I never wanted-
L: What? To kill countless people? To decide the fate of every living being in Thedas? The old world is gone, Solas, and remaking the current one... it's not your place.
S: (progressively angrier) Not my place? Whose then, if not mine? You said you wanted to change things, but what did you actually change? A Dalish mage may command the greatest of Thedas' armies, but your people still hide from the world, clinging to half-forgotten fairy stories and so wrapped up in bitterness and a desperate bid for survival that they would turn away from you in contempt. It is not enough, to simply desire change, you must actually do something to cause it.
L: No matter the cost?
S: There is always a cost.

Cue epic battle, Solas (of course) wins, catches Quizzies and gently lowers her to the ground.
She gasps, reaches to touch his face
L: (hitched breathing) Is there... anything left? Of the man I loved...
S: Ir Abelas, Vhenan.

She dies. Solas pauses a moment, then rises. Continues on to , presumably, carry out his plans. We now have the whole delicious backstory for the DAI's major villain (a sympathetic bad guy, b/c those are always the best) and a clean slate for the new protag. A similar scenario could work just as well for any quizzie too- just replace Vhenan with "my friend" and "Of the man I loved..." with "Of the man I knew..."

Damn these ninja onions are irritating me....I'll just go in some corner *sobs*

LOL- The rainbows and unicorns endings are always nice, but the tragic ones are the ones that stick with ya... Or at least, the ones that stick with me.  Maybe I'm actually more like Varric than Cassandra, "Most of my stories end in tragedy. Probably that says something unfortunate about me personally.”

Now this is something I would like. But I'm a sucker for HEA... :)

Speaking of hugs... Shouldn't there have been ab option to hug the companions? Or am I misinformed?

People assume that tearing down the Veil would destroy the world somehow. Is that just because every game needs a big bad so they're assuming this will make Solas one?

Oh I am all for HEAs... But the HEAs the couple has to fight for. So these two would make a wonderful HEA! <3 *_*

I think you might be mistaking what we think our characters would presume for what we, actually speculate about ourselves.  Personally, I think that the restoration of the world would be far less traumatic than the build-up, but people are people, and as Flemeth said, people fear change.  I 100% believe that my Lavellan, especially after just having spent all this time repairing damage caused by a mere breach, would freak the hell out if she determined that someone was trying to do away with the veil entirely- and I'm more than certain that the vast majority of Thedosians would be willing to shed any amount of blood in order to stop someone from trying to tear down the veil.

Really, the actions of the frightened masses, if they knew someone was actively trying to merge the Beyond with the physical world, might be termed as "destroying the world" since their actions would surely be dramatic and scary.  Also, regardless of whether the change turned out to be beneficial or not, removing the veil would destroy the world as it is now and completely change the core existence of current Thedosian life.

Tearing down the Veil may not be bad in and of itself but whatever comes after will be. Either people will react terribly or there will be some unforeseen consequences. There's got to be some conflict in doing it; it can't unequivocally be the right thing to do that makes everyone happy because there's no story in that.

I thought unicorns were born from magic moonbeams that touched a misty mountain lake three minutes after midnight. Now I know the truth.

Ehhh....sorry, just... no.  :pinched:

Besides, can you imagine the RAGE if the Inquisitor loses no matter what and has to die? I don't think such scenario is even remotely plausible.

Oh!  Sad David Tennant, I'm sorry.  Here- is this better?

L:  I can't let you do this.

S:  Vhenan, do not force this choice on me.

L:  OKay, nevermind.  Let's kiss instead!

S:  Oh yes, kissing would be great.  I love kissing.

L:  Awesome, then let's kiss, and then we can get married and make a bunch of adorable elf babies and live for ever.

S: Yes, in a floating crystal palace in the trees.

L:  Awwwwwww, Solas!  You're going to stop this silly 'remaking the world' thing just build me a castle in the sky?  (She bats her eyes)

S: Anything for you Sugar-woogams!

Leliana sings (you know the one; the elf-funeral song that somehow became the DAO sex song) as the two walk off into the fade sunset, hand in hand.

There David Tennant- anything for you, just don't cry!

True, and Solas does make comments the equivalent of "you have to break some eggs to make omelets," and it's pretty much a law that Solas' good intentions go awry. It would be in the reaction, I think, more than the actual change. Though I think he does have a case that this is already happening due to the unnatural separation. I mean, the mage vs. templar rebellion was started because of Justice's corruption and the Rite of Tranquility being found to be reversible, for instance. The Breach being another example.

I also come back around to the idea that the Veil may be collapsing on its own, judging by Sandal's and Flemeth's comments, so Solas may seek only to hasten what he sees as inevitable.

Yeah... can't say that even I, great lover of tragedy that I am, had anything but pure contempt for those endings.  Ah well, C'est la vie... or, La Morte, as the case may be.

I have not considered that either...I just hope they are not going to make him the new Anders, and that is where I see it heading >.<
