I.....think you might be reading too much into a silly flirtatious line.

*shrugs*  Maybe, but if a guy said that to me in real life (me being a mage notwithstanding since I am a Power Ranger) I'd be going "ew" and backing away fast.

Well that sounds entirely different from what I had in mind :(

By the way does anyone know what he says to a warrior or a rogue? I won't create a Lavellan just for that bit of conversation >_>

(or would I?)

Heh. I did.

I started a rogue, and he said I was graceful, and then I said something like "Oh are you suggesting I'm graceful?" and he says something to the effect of, how it was not a suggestion, and not something up for debate. Which was cute.

For warriors I think he compliments your muscles.

I prefer the mage compliment though, because sex. on a balcony. for all to see...

I'll be in my bunk.

Thing that annoys me during the playthrough. At the end when Corphyfish is defeated and my Elfie is hauling herself up from the devastation, Solas friggin runs straight to find the damn Orb. No, "Are you okay?" or "Did falling out of the sky on floating chunks of temple remains hurt you at all?". He's just all sad faced over the orb and is like "Whelp, that messed up plans. Really liked ya but BYEEEEEEEEEEE".

In my headcanon he checks that she's not dead or mortally wounded first and THEN goes looking for the Orb.

Alright, well, we'll have to just leave the argument at that, then.

The conversation goes like this:

Solas: "You train your will to control magic and withstand possession. Your indomitable focus is an enjoyable side benefit."

Lavellan: "Indomitable focus?"

Solas: "Presumably. I have yet to see it dominated. I imagine the sight would be... fascinating."

I am pretty sure he means having her focus (aka her attention) "dominated" would be fascinating. So in other words, it's like saying it would be interesting to have her focusing on something/someone other than her magic/sealing the breach - someone like him.

I didn't find it creepy at all.

Yeah, this is basically how I interpreted it as well--"seeing what it would take to distract you would be interesting," not "I want to dominate you."

Wait, he didn't say he wanted to dominate her mind.... but her focus... :P
Or am I remembering wrong?

This thread moves too fast for me to keep up!

Okay focus sounds nicer than mind. Still its... It sounds strange to me. But English is not my native language, maybe that's just the language barrier?

On rouges he talks about you being graceful. That's really nice ;)

Warriors get something along "all those shiny muscles".

First PT I didn't let her kill him but then she pouted at me when we came back so I was like 'oh well, ok, you can kill him' with my Lavellan...
It was horrible, I felt terrible watching her kill him, stomping at him over and over and over. It was unnerving, I felt like I awoken a monster. I was surprised that neither Solas nor Cass said anything.

It wasn't the gore, but the sheer brutality of it. I can understand why say, a City Elf Warden would have major problems with the nobility, but attempting to render a guy into pulp because someone lied to you about baking cookies suggests other psychological issues.

I had thought at first that Sera had magical potential that had gone undetected with the chaos of the Fifth Blight and what happened at Ferelden's Circle. She has a minor version of Solas' dreamwalker power, which is why she inexplicably became an expert marksman without training or how she got a vision of a romanced Inquisitor being sent into the Fade. Sera at some level knows about this and it terrifys her which is why even the simplest of spells scare her. Solas picks up on her potential and could potentially be her Obi-Wan Kenobi but she has no interest in it.

Of course, it turned out that there wasn't much character development or story arc which is kind of disappointing.

He does sound constantly rushed, doesn't he?  While I know that this is probably simply due to dev time constraints, I can't help but think that perhaps he is losing his immortality and is therefore totally stressed out.

I like that line because he manages to flirt without hitting you over the head with it and making it too awkward.  It's very easy to take it as regular conversation.  When I first heard that line I wasn't sure if he was trying to be saucy or not, and I believe that was the point.  It's a very Solas thing to do.  There's just enough suggestion there for Lavellan to leave or take.

I'm right there with you, I'm concerned for my mental stability.

Wake up: Solas dream yayyy

Drive to work: Solas (F***ER STAY IN YOUR LANE)

Work: Solas would find this **** insufferable

Lunch: I could be eating August Ram meat with Solas instead of this ****

Work: Solas save meeeee

Drive home: Solas (WHY THE **** IS THERE TRAFFIC IT'S 8)

Home: Must get back to Soooolllaaaaasssss

Bedtime: SOLAS YOU JERK I LOVE YOU

~repeat~

Just looked on youtube cuz I wanted to know how they translated that scene into German...

Uhhh in German Solas is DOUBLE NERD...

Cuz his german VA is also the VA for Leonard from Big Bang Theory.

And then my imagination did things... Solas face slowly morphed into Leonards and that's an image I'll never get out of my mind.

Gladly they didn't use Pennys VA for Qizzy... O.o

Never mind Lavellan, *I* blushed hearing his rogue flirt.  And squeed.  And may have disturbed the cat who was having a lovely nap in my lap.

I still haven't heard anything other than the mage version.  It'll probably be a while until I get around to playing something other than mage.  I still think I should be better than I am with DA2, where I still haven't played anything but mage.

I suspect that her staying who she is (i.e. normal people) is the whole point of her arc.

As the Inquisitor, you managed to get her through all that cr*p without breaking her spirit, without forcing her to change... it really is the reverse of what most of us play from what I see, since whe play the 'Elven rise in power'

But for other Quizzies the reward might just be that they managed to keep her safe and happy-go-lucky even if demons, fade walking, court full of nobles, etc.

Anyway, very dffrent from our Solas oriented 'How willwe change the world' approach...

My understanding is that being kind of the point though. In the face of a changing landscape regarding the position of mages in society, Sera starts becoming fearful of the emergence of another set of  "privileges" - magical ability. Sera not being born with any extraordinary talent also means that if the social landscape begins incorporating elements of Tevinter, by inviting those of magical ability into nobility, Sera and people like her will possibly be subject to yet another degree of oppression. The prospect terrifies her.

(Unrelated: half way through The Masked Empire. The game totally does not do Celene and Briala justice! And omg Felassan! <3  )

We don't actually know for sure if the Quizzy has changed.  No origin story playthrough kinda brings it into question on whether they changed or not.
