I must say that Solas' final romance scene is really well done. My favorite version is

when the PC chooses to keep the Vallaslin. Hearing her say, "The vallaslin is part of who I am. I hope you can see past- "    And then Solas interrupts.  "Stop.... you are perfect just the way you are."  Ugh. So sweet and sad.

It really shows how badly timed that break up is.  I mean, if he wants to break up with her, by all means... but the way he did it was terrible.

Approaching Solas for that fateful scene is hands down the most difficult thing in the game. Harder even than beating the toughest dragon on nightmare setting. Fact.

I am never able to drink from the Well of Sorrows because of the sinking feeling I get like fate is sealed or something.
Anyhu I was thinking about Solas's tarot cards today...and feel a wee bit optimistic that maybe their reunion wont be as tragic as I imagined it to be.

I thought I heard that quest was meant to be for the war table, so my guess is it's some kind of content that got cut late in development.  If we're lucky it might be something that is completed and added in via DLC or a patch later on.

At the moment, "are you kidding me???" summed up what was going through my head exactly. But I went with "don't leave me!" option instead. Sad puppy all the way.

I think I did this one the first time around, but the only issue I have is that I think choosing this option cuts off the later conversation options with Solas? Where you can try to talk to him about why he broke it off? Did anyone else have that issue?

Not sure if it's exactly the same voice clip, but Solas does occasionally say "Dareth shiral" in-game, at the end of normal conversations.

RANDOM ALERT!

 

So I was on tumblr and came across a post by Cassandra Clare, the author of The Mortal Instruments books.  I haven't read them and saw the movie at the insistance of my sister, but her post made me interested enough to check out her wiki and what do I randomly find?  Gareth David-Lloyd narrates one of her audiobooks, and it's the specific short story that deals with the m/m couple in the novels and details their first date.  I just downloaded it for $3.95 on iTunes and the preview alone, his voice, had me dying.  I can't wait for Solas to tell me all the juicy gossip of gay teen romance!    I'll pretend he's detailing something he saw in the Fade.

OMG, that breakup was brutal. I've been playing this character pretty aggressive with kind of a short temper and that... damn, that was not pretty. There was lots of yelling.

I don't know if I have the heart to keep that ending as my canon. It was ... something my character immediately regretted, to say the least.

I'm fairly sure that would be Ishmael.  Only demon and fortress I know of.
