More in-character, I think what I found appealing about Solas's early flirts (especially the class-based ones) is that he's so confident without being domineering. He's attracted to Lavellan, and that's that. He doesn't feel the need to make it a big deal; he just declares it and leaves the ball in her court.
Yeahhhhh, that is totally not one of things that made me so obsessive with him /cough.
I've never found myself attracted to guys with confidence (since I'm a sapiosexual [thank the thread for introducing me to this termmmmm, I always thought I'm a weird asexual] and therefore found myself attracted to geeks almost exclusively) but daimmmmm, he swept me off my feet with that one liner, it's so nice to see someone who is attracted to someone and admits it to them so casually, it's usually more like a game of tag.
Also, Connor's fate if you side with the Templars: You hear from the storyteller in Redcliffe that he's being possessed by a Desire Demon.
The only time I heard the Storyteller talk about Connor was to talk about when he was possessed by a desire demon as a child. Are you sure she was talking about him getting possessed a second time, and not about past events?
I see a lot of talking about someone named Felassan, does he appear in the novels or something?
Should I read them? I live somewhere tiny with a poor gaming culture, it never even occurred to me that there are novels until I got to this thread :|

Nah Fiona is awesome and I really wish we could have done more in the game to mend her image on the pro-Mage side of things, especially if there was something we could have done to smooth things over between her and Alistair?
Plus for a woman who was born in the Blessed Age, she still looks incredible.
Speaking of Fiona, I had her as allies but killed her son in the fade because...well..apparently I love Hawke better Then I talked to her after that she said this to my face "You'd better not regret the choices you made"...Is she threatening me?

The Masked Empire by Patrick Weekes (Solas' author) is a must-read, yes. It's a good read, too. Felassan is one of the main characters. It does raise a question at the end (spoilers!) and there's no answer yet, but it is indeed very interesting. No Solas, though.
As for other DA novels, I read all, and I can recommend this: if you liked Loghain from DAO, The Stolen Throne is a good read. No ancient elven lore, but it's good -though maybe it's best to read it when you're replaying DAO.

To add on to Kulyok's response, Asunder is the novel where Cole is introduced and there's a lot of background for the mage/templar conflict that's going on in DAI. The Masked Empire lays out the conflict going on in Orlais with Celene, Gaspard, and Briala as well as touches on some elven lore. Both are good for a better understanding of DAI. I haven't read The Stolen Throne or The Calling yet but they tie into DAO with Loghain, Maric, the war between Fereldan and Orlais, Duncan, and the Architect.
If you're interested in any of those things, the novels are a good idea.

That's my favourite version as well. I was so scared he'd be mad, but I also really didn't want to give up the vallaslin. But when he said that...I just melted. It was a perfect moment.

Still, I believe Connor's fate is not a good one once you sided with the Templars. Unless maybe he managed to ran away somewhere before the mages became Coryphenus' pawns.
I've been watching some Solas romance scenes on youtube out of boredom and I'm genuinely surprised at the amount of people who had their Vaselline taken away. Yes, they might have meant slavery thousands of years ago, but now I see them as a mark of adulthood/pride in the Dalish culture, a modern culture, which marks them out as never submitting to slavery again. I could never take away my Dalish pride in my first play through, or any future play throughs.
Does Solas offer that to a male friend, or is it just a romance scene? And how many people accepted his 'gift'? I thought it was a sweet gesture, but it's sort of like LBGT or coloured people taking back offensive slurs. I'm a gay man in real life, and when people call me ****** or gay or queer, I laugh and smirk and wear it with pride. I imagine the Dalish being something similar really. >.>

I, like many other in this thread, removed the vallaslin, but I did pause to think for a long while before doing so.
I figured, at the end, that it fits my Lavellan's traits the most to remove it, I imagined her to be quite upset over what happened in the Temple of Mythal and that it got her thinking differently about what she thinks to be her People's heritage. Especially after coming across the different murals of her so-called gods and having Morrigan and Solas comment on them.
She was never especially 'DALISH GLORY' in her conversations (I've avoided some of the special dialogs on purpose), she seeks to expand her knowledge and grow (and her clan lets her). She is a Dalish elf & a mage, she is the face of the inquisition and as such she feels that since people treat her as a symbol (against her will) that she should atleast try to bring on a change, thus she must stand for truth as far as she can (and that includes physical representation).
Honestly: after thinking about it a while I was like 'meh, why not' + I really wanted to see that scene in which he removes the vallaslin, it was so beautiful.
