I definitely think it's a wolf in the mural. I think it's because of the legs.... The "feet" look like paws to me, whilst I would expect a dragon to have claws. The right side looks like what I would expect a dragon foot to be. Can't decide whether it's a dragon or dragon foot though....
I'm guessing the being in the well is just a spirit. Probably bound to protect the well/power of Mythal.
Could it possibly be a Great Wolf? I mean, if it's meant ot be The Dread Wolf then it would probably look different than standard lore wolves, wouldn't it?

I think that represents that he has absorbed the power of Mythal - the dragon. Why would he not do that though? It's one hell of alot easier than trying to explain, and while it is ambiguous now, it may be that he is aware that either Morrigan, or the Inquisitor will be able to decipher in time with the help of the well knowledge.
The way Solas refuses to say he didn't care for quizzy.. And makes sure to tell her no matter what happens what they had was real.. and says he wants to give her the truth.
To me he is making very clear to Quizzy that he loves her. Him leaving has nothing to do with how he feels for her. He can't stay but the truth is he loves her

PS: Dammit Bioware, another mage that loves my PC but has something more important than life and love to do! (I romanced Anders and he flat out told my Hawke that he loved her more than life but some things were more important than even his love for Hawke. Then he goes out to blow up a chantry. Grrr...)

I'm seriously starting to think that final mural just depicts the final battle between the Inquisitor and Cory. Or the Inquisitor's dragon and Cory's dragon, to be specific. Every other mural is about the Inquisitor's deeds with Solas himself nowhere in there, I doubt the final one would be different. That and he presumably sketched it out before the final battle and I'm of a mind that Solas didn't plan on messing with FleMythal until the orb ended up breaking and he had to change his plans.
It just looks like two dragons to me. I think if he meant for it to be a wolf, he'd have drawn it looking like a wolf. We've already seen how he draws wolves and that figure looks very much lizard-y. Unless he's painting some wolf/dragon hybrid but I don't think so.

Ears - dragon horns will be bigger when compared to his head.
Curl - the curl under the right figures chin can easily be a fur curl, just like the one on the left.
"Scales" - both drawings have open triangles, in the right one it looks a bit like scales, but it is exactly like what appears on the left.
Paw - both creatures have paws, a dragon would've had claws.
Besides all that we need to remember that this is a sketch, things like texture are added with coloring and brush strokes, the sharp edges would become softer when painted. I do think the creature on the right looks dragonish but I believe it's because
1) It is the Dread Wolf, it wouldn't look like a normal wolf, it would look fiercer.
2) The Dread Wolf is an elven god, gods and dragons in this world seem to be connected. Flemeth can become a dragon because of Mythal's spirit, Mythal is depicted as a dragon or a lady with dragon wings, as well as other gods.
3) It could be that the dragonish part was added to express the fact that the Dread Wolf now holds Mythal's powers.
Edit: I tend to go with 1 & 2 since I want to believe Solas didn't plan on stealing Mythal's powers before the battle. These are just theories that seemed plausible from this thread.

When I imagine Solas in wolf form, I imagine him as looking like that wolf in his non-romanced tarot card. An enormous black wolf with lots of creepy red eyes.
And then I picture said wolf being gentle as a puppy around a much smaller Lavellan. 
I have very important question: if I use every possible conversation with Solas in Haven he won't talk to me anymore or it is a bug? Because I had something similar to this with Dorian in my last playtrough and it was a bug. Other companions always have somwthing to say even when we talked about it before. 
I'm trying to avoid sitauation when I have to replay a few hour of game.
Had to take a break to wrap Christmas presents. Boo. I couldn't help but be lazy and just buy some pre-made boxes to tape up and put everything in. Yes I thought about that well, but I didn't put it down because I have no idea how he would draw dragon eyes.
Something I must say however - the creature to the right seems concerned/worried, I'm not sure if I'm imagining it or that there is a hint of emotion :S

I wonder what wolves mean to him. Why are they howling?
Maybe it's a metaphor for rebellion or uprising for him (because of what he stands for, howling is sort of declaring war of Coryphilip?), or metaphor for guardians (what wolves used to be [from what I understand] to the elves).
I know it's been said a couple of time that the murals are supposed to depict the Inquisitor's journey and decisions but he could be lying, he never explicitly said inquisitor he said 'he'/'she' when asked about the murals. Plus, this guy did many many many things in the background we don't know of, do you really take his word that all of the murals speak of the Inquisitor?
