I must be confused on the different endings you can get from that. I supported Celene and had Briala exiled and had the option to have that flirt with Solas when talking about Briala. Not sure if there's a way to have the two of them ruling together, as it were...?

Yes you can.

Spoiler

edit:  Lol of course I was beat to it!

Can you imagine a DLC where you have to choose between saving your HoF or Solas? I don't want that :'(

Yeah, I love the idea of a DLC that involves both, but I don't want to choose between them.  :crying:

You can reconcile Celene and Briala. Find the elven locket behind one of the halla statue sealed doors and show it to both Celene and Briala and encourage the idea that they still have feelings for each other. Then get rid of Gaspard however you choose.

Any option where Briala doesn't have power (there are only two ways to give her that, I think, making Gaspard a puppet and reconciling her with Celene) will have the flirt option.

Agh. Crap. I did grab the locket even, I wonder where I went wrong there. Briala having the Dales is a very appealing choice, so something to think about for this playthrough. I haven't gotten to the palace yet.

Its not just a flirt. Its one of the very few meaningful ones characterwise.

Solas is really written in a way where flirting often cuts you from actual interaction. I got the feeling it was meant that way, so by flirting, you dont get to see how way off the guy is. You dont get the argument about spirit being people, you dont get to argue about recruting the wardens, etc.

Its like Solas gets to turn off his whole 'my ideas are most important' and gets to jsut love/be loved for a little while...

/sigh how bittersweet...

Oh jeez, that is so sappy.

I love it :(

He's approving of asking who his people are there.  ;) Amusingly enough, he approves of you calling out that he's being kind of shady about who his people are when he disapproves of you catching his court intrigue thing.

That's true...though he does approve of flirting.

"I'll keep you safe." Solas Slightly Approves.

"You like my side benefits?" Solas Slightly Approves.

I wonder why he does disapprove of one and not the other, though. Maybe it's partially because "what, an elven apostate can't know about court intrigue?"

I wish I could advise you on that one. I chose to make all three of them work together, which is good for the whole Breach mess but not for the future of Orlais.

I made Briala rule with Gaspard as a puppet Emperor, and I had the flirt option with him when I returned to Skyhold. I just loaded up my save to double check.

This is an interesting and lovely thought. I never really noticed this since I haven't completed a non-Solavellan playthrough yet, and I always take the flirt options.

Oh its worth trying. And no need to make it an Assquisitor run. Because in that case youd be provoking Solas and hed have reason to be mean. But try a good middle of the road human who enjoys sanity and youll see that other side of Solas.

You just need to take middle of the road anwers like 'oh thats weird' or 'demons are bad' . The guy definitly needs an anchor, and that is Lavellan, cause he will unravel.

It gives the whole meaning to the Hierophant vs Tower card.

I think he disapproves because you push him into lying. And it's not a very good lie. He says he misses being in court, and when you call him on it (how can you miss it? Have you been in court before?), the best he can come up with is along the lines of, "Oh, uh, I was never actually at court.. I just saw things... in the Fade......"

It's really too bad the inquisitor can never question him when he's dodgy like that.

It's cute when he does. I think he may just like the positive attention.

Someone suggested it's because he was forced to lie outright about how he knew rather than his preferred evasive approach and I kind of like the idea.

Ahhh, I've never done that so I don't have first hand experience with it, just what other people in the thread have said.

That would give entirely new meaning to the glowy Fade hand being called the Anchor.

I wish we could question him more, though I wouldn't want to stress him. I do respect his reasons for omitting so many truths. I like the idea that what flusters him is being forced to lie. I'm sure it's partially true since he's probably seen loads of it in the Fade. He did say spirits hung out in places like that. Though as you said he did have to deny being there to miss it.

Hi! Thank you do much for the critic. I was very useful! I corrected a few mistakes I colored the sketch:

Now I just have to decide the dress my Lavellan would wear to Court.

Very nice! You captured his face so well. :)

For some reason when I went into the well of sorrows, I had actual elven on my subtitles, not "unintelligible whispers"

It said "Garas quenathra" and then "Vir mythal'enaste"

Has anyone translated that yet?

"Come 'something'" and "Way of Mythal'something'" ?  Or maybe "The way to Mythal appears".

Holla people!

Not sure if this has been posted by anyone yet, but I just found this during the Fade Run portion of Here Lies the Abyss.

Did anybody take notice of this? This is just prime fodder for DAI conspiracists and theorists I reckon. Thoughts?

Some say it looks like  a wolf.

Some say it looks like a dragon.

Some see a sword in a dragon.

some see a sword in a foot.

Some see the events of Solas and Flemythal.

Some see the events of the final confrontation with Corypheus and his dragon.

Art is subjective.

About the wolf thing, as much as I'd like to believe it's a wolf, it seems very strange to me that every wolf in the game would be drawn to clearly look like a wolf except for this one. It looks like they settled on very clear visuals for wolves, with long snouts and subtle fur (not something quite as pointy as the scale-like shapes on the mural) and usually one ear and something of an elongated body. If anything it'd be sloppy to have this clear visual language and then completely ignore it in this drawing while the others of the same set don't. But yeah, I doubt that'll change anybody's mind haha.

You have to admit, though, he remains cool under pressure. He doesn't even shift from his relaxed pose.

It's cute how Solas approves when you flirt with him. Some of the LIs don't gain approval from it.

I'd also like to point out that since Solas isn't one for vocalizing lies: "I joined the Inquisition to save the world." But we all knew that.

Cas approves when you flirt with her!

As for the wolves: in most tarot cards, a wolf howling at the moon symbolizes isolation, loneliness, and pain.

"The fears of the natural mind".
Lack of clarity — Tension — Doubt — Fantasy
Deception — Psychological conflict — Obscured vision
Confusion — Illusion — Fear — Imagination — Worry
Romanticism — Anxiety — Apprehension — Unrealistic ideas

Aw. Poor babby.  :crying:

Solas approved or not I loved playing the Game and getting Briala into a position of authority. There's this look of understanding I imagine them giving each other as Celene goes to address the crowd, the woman who slaughtered countless elves because of a rumour giving honours to two manipulative elves determined to change things for their people.

I've read TME and while my Lavellan would hesitate to get them back together if she knew the whole story what she did know made her decide that if Briala is willing then that's on her. Renewed my respect for Anora though.
