I just finished the game, completly, for myself. T-T i saw the end of the romance on youtube, but its 100x worse when you play it yourself. I just at the end, it felt so empty, I didin t know what to think. How could he justmdissapear after the final fight like that.. I feel frustrated, because i need to know what happens.

to leave it like that..is so... arrgh...

Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels frustrated..

Solas approved or not I loved playing the Game and getting Briala into a position of authority. There's this look of understanding I imagine them giving each other as Celene goes to address the crowd, the woman who slaughtered countless elves because of a rumour giving honours to two manipulative elves determined to change things for their people.

Briala's a tool. I reconcile them because Celene needs a check on her power, but I've got no love or kindred feeling for her. It's nice that Solas gets this.

Which halla locked room is that locket in?  I thought I opened them all, but I guess not..I never found it.

It's in Celene's chambers.

Agh. Crap. I did grab the locket even, I wonder where I went wrong there. Briala having the Dales is a very appealing choice, so something to think about for this playthrough. I haven't gotten to the palace yet.

Here is a nice guide for every outcome, if you're interested :) http://forum.bioware...s-ending-guide/

Hm, isn't it in the servants' quarters, upstairs, near where you fight the harlequin and meet Briala? I remember looking everywhere for it and I found it there.

Doesn't have anything to do with anything, but did anyone else notice that the line Lavellan can say to Kieran - something like "did the ears give me away" - is the same thing an elven Warden in Origins can say to the lost kid in Lothering? Wonder if that was an intentional little easter egg. :)

If you grab the elven amulet, you can reconciliate Celen and Briala, Celene will rule Orlais and Briala will get the Dales, things start to get better for the elves by the epilogue. So yeah, its hard to turn down.

At the same time, I always feel my Dalish is a little too good at the Game to feel believable, so I might go the 'trying for it but failing' way... thats the Solas way right :P

I love the resolution where you outwit all three of them, but it does seem a bit of a stretch for my Inquisitor to be that savvy. So I took Vivienne along and headcanoned that the two of them plotted it together. :D

About the wolf thing, as much as I'd like to believe it's a wolf, it seems very strange to me that every wolf in the game would be drawn to clearly look like a wolf except for this one. It looks like they settled on very clear visuals for wolves, with long snouts and subtle fur (not something quite as pointy as the scale-like shapes on the mural) and usually one ear and something of an elongated body. If anything it'd be sloppy to have this clear visual language and then completely ignore it in this drawing while the others of the same set don't. But yeah, I doubt that'll change anybody's mind haha.

My current theory is that it's drawn to look like a wolf-dragon-griffon on purpose just to mess with us. >.<

I see my Lavellan and Briala using each other equally, it's useful to have an ally  but while they have the same goal they don't have the same methods. I agree about Celene being a check on Briala's power it's why I'd never make Gaspard her puppet. She pushes too hard and too fast, her changes wont stick.

OMG Yes this :)

He is making it pretty clear elves are not his people, but in a way where you show how much respect you have for each other and the paths you have to take (not that Lavellan would be less traumatized by their break up).

Is this worth not managing to help Briala as much as id like... >.<

I swear I got this conversation even tho I put Briala in charge of Orlais.

In other news - today my Lavellan took Solas, Sera, and Blackwall to Val Royaeux to buy a war nug. Which apparently bugged out and I just lost 10k..

But I stumbled upon a wedding ceremony, and was asked to say some words. So I told them all about how love was super important, while giving Solas an evil look the entire time.

Sera approved. But not enough for me to get roof cookies.

It's the fancy bedroom, if I remember right you fight 3 goons there and one's a mage.

I wandered away from this thread and onto Reddit. Sigh, I probably shouldn't have because it makes me want to argue with people on their negative conceptualizations of Solas. I am just going to rant a bit here. Basically, someone said that she didn't like the Solas romance because he treats you like you're a kid and that the relationship isn't equal. Also, this person said that the relationship reminded her of her know-it-all ex-bf. Ok, I can see why she thinks that. But it makes PERFECT sense when you take his background into account. Lavellan with her 20-50 years of knowledge and experience in this world IS a kid compared to Solas. You can't compare a real-life relationship to this fantasy one. This is not to say that Solas doesn't have flaws or that he is right about everything, but it makes perfect sense to me that the inquisitor should be humble and respectful when speaking to Solas. Solas clearly knows a lot more about this world from his "travels in the fade" and it would be arrogant of the inquisitor to not take his opinion into account or to not bother to ask him questions. Rant over.

Yeah, once upon a time Kieran's daddy said the "did the ears give me away" line to the kid in Lothering.  So I "awwww'd" very much. ^_^

Or maybe its a little bit of everything, because Solas doesn't know jet how the story ends?

People don't like when their PC is in a position where they know much less than another character or can't force a character to stay with them the way you can't with Solas. It disrupts the power fantasy and that's where the 'he treats me like a kid' thing comes from.

What's funny is that Solas is the least "I know better than you" with a romanced Inquisitor. It comes out much more when you're not in a romance with him. When he's in love with you, he comes to respect you on a whole other level. He can barely control himself around a romanced Inquisitor!

I so wanted Solas to be there on the balcony waiting for her after the party. Or maybe she goes to sleep and he's in her dreams.  But Noooooooooo!!!!

Hmm that's an interesting perspective. I don't play games to be the most knowledgeable or most powerful character so it was easy to take the perspectives of the other characters. Heck, I don't like Vivienne and Sera's attitudes, but they have legitimate points to make. Every character in the game have their reasons for doing what they do (except for Fiona, but she's probably controlled with blood magic). That's pretty much how I view people in real life as well.

You have to admit, though, he remains cool under pressure. He doesn't even shift from his relaxed pose.

He does stumble over his words a bit at first though :)

That's so true. It seems like the characters who get the most hate are the ones who disagree with the main character, or do things the PC can't control (Anders, Morrigan). On the other hand, the ones who are most agreeable tend to be fan favorites (Garrus, Varric).

Who ever said that a romance based on 'god falls for mortal' would ever be an equal relationship... If anything, Solas tries to keep things even by conceling who he really is. It doesnt help, but he tries.

I dont know that the inquisitor should be humble when talking to Solas and listen to his story, but it makes sense as part of the romance. I mean if you dont see something more in him, dont romance him :P (well im not saying that you) Its not like he didnt beg you to back off anyway.

It does seem, to me, a little sad that while I can talk to Solas about spirits and memories and all kinds of lore whatnot, I cannot coax him to communicate about his hesitation.

I must be confused on the different endings you can get from that. I supported Celene and had Briala exiled and had the option to have that flirt with Solas when talking about Briala. Not sure if there's a way to have the two of them ruling together, as it were...?

There is a way to have them rule together:

Spoiler

For all the other outcomes, there's a relatively long conversation with Solas about what happened. But if you reunite them... he says one sentence and you don't even get to ask about anything.
