I think it's come back around to speculating on his goals and the epilogue scene. A new thread was made for the new spoiler discussion. You may want to avoid the last few pages, though, as it was mentioned at least a bit.

Well, I didn't feel any different after reading the spoilers because that note might not be telling the whole story.

Viv was hilarious in this scene. "Why, Fiona, you look dreadful." Not verbatim, but you get the point. Her delivery was excellent.

"Fiona, my dear, your dementia is showing." XD I didn't like Vivienne so much as a Dalish, but I'm really starting to warm up to her on my human mage playthrough. I'm liking playing as a human mage more than I thought I would after only playing as an elf. It's a new perspective and she doesn't feel like an outsider. Though, Solas feels more distant ![]()

Merry Christmas to all my fellow Solassians who celebrate it, and Happy Holidays
So, I just noticed this on my first playthrough as a human... I didn't realize that Solas was as tall as human women. I guess I wasn't paying attention.
Spoiler
I think the elves have gotten progressively taller in every game. Fenris is as tall as, (possibly taller than) a human female also, he just slouches most of the time.
On the other hand, the npc and player heights do weird things in this game. Sometimes my Lavellan looks taller or equal height to Solas in general cinematics and out in the field. But when they are close to each other in more intimate settings (rawr), he towers over her. On the other other hand, Solas doesn't have a typical elfish body. He has broad shoulders and a sweet badonkadonk. His arms and legs aren't twiggy either. I dare say he's practically perfect in every way.
Coincidentally, if you take the time to stand near some of the Guardian elves in Mythal's temple, you may notice that some of them are nigh Qunari height and build.

I AM kind of frustrated that Bioware wasn't more careful with their game files considering that they had a cliff-hanger ending. They should have expected people to dig around in their game files.

This thread is friendly so I won't take the bait
I think you missed a lot about Anders or at least the way you speak about him doesn't do justice to your knowledge of the character. His top priority was to not kill innocent people, not free mages.
If you read his intro by his writer Vengeance + Anders power is staggering. He basically killed an entire platoon of Wardens armed to the the teeth, without breaking a sweat. And regretted ever since. With that kind of power he could have freed the Kirkwall mages at any time so his priority was NOT to free mages. Not at any cost.
Missing that intro, which was not in the game, is not unusual but you also don't seem to have done his mission on Act2 where he almost kills a mage and wants to massacre all templars around. And then he wants to leave Kirkwall and give up because he doesn't want to turn himself into what the templars hate about mages.
That is another proof that freeing mages is NOT his main priority, again it is important but his priority is not to kill innocent people. All through Act 1 and Act 2 this is made very clear. Only on Act 3, when it becomes clear innocents will die regardless of him acting or not is that he THEN decides to act on his SECOND prioriority and does what he needs to do to free mages.
Maybe you saw all that as well, I just found it hard to read it on your words trying to insult me
This isn't the Anders thread so I don't want to get into this too much and derail things, but can we not with the condescending "i guess you missed all these important parts of the game" accusations. Sinaxi has been a fan of Anders for years and I can assure her she knows every little detail about him. You've been suggesting with every post in this little debate that she doesn't understand her favorite character so it's no surprise she's gonna be short with you lol.
As for the "what are Anders' priorities" issue, I would argue that "not killing innocents", basically "not doing a thing", is less a priority and better categorized as something that holds Anders back from doing what he could do if pushed. His goal from Act 1 onward was still helping mages even if he got sidetracked sometimes by his personal issues with Justice/Vengeance. And I don't think we're meant to believe he always had the power to destroy and topple the oppressive structures around him and just didn't because he didn't want to hurt people... If that was true he could have just waltzed over to the Chantry and blown it on the spot without needing Hawke's help to set it all up.
I could go on but again, I don't want to derail the Solas thread. But I think most people who happen to be both Solas and Anders fans would appreciate it if we could also come in to the Solas thread without seeing disparaging comments about Anders every other page (because it is off putting to see things like "What if he's like Anders all over again" and the apparent negative connotations being made by these statements).

Real as in genuine. I mean almost everything that happened occurred outside the Fade so if he was like "yes those things happened in the physical world,".... I think it would be a pretty silly thing to say. Plus the Fade/Real World distinction isn't a big one for Solas anyway, so why would he point it out? To him, things that happen in the Fade are not much, if any less real than what happens in the mundane world.
No, I think it is very important to Solas that Lavellan know he was not manipulating her. He knows that she will find out his identity eventually, and he wants her to know that while everything else might be false, that part - their relationship, and the way he felt about her - was real. He is so accustomed to being maligned, and hated, and alone, and he might think he is fine with that but we know from his fear that he's not. He doesn't want to be alone and for a small moment in time he wasn't and he doesn't want that to be false. But over and above that I think he cares about Lavellan and he doesn't want her to feel lesser, to feel used or manipulated. He wants her to know that he valued and respected her because she is the person he Loves.
That's my take anyway. I'm a Romantic, and an optimist in this case, but I don't have any doubt in my mind about that part of the relationship.
EXACTLY.

I hope that, too. I just got the impression that Solas sees a definite chance that his quest may kill him. It's definitely not what I want to happen, but it does fit with his grim and fatalistic outlook.
Maybe this is just Solas just winding us up for the ultimate make up sex with Lavellan. Getting her into bed is a side benefit of his grim outlook.
Sigh. Maybe if it was Varric telling the story, it would happen.
