(to scintilla) Especially since in mine, it came across like he'd support my decision out of the people present since he seems to heavily desapprove of Morrigan doing it and I cannot imaging he'd be all for Cole doing it which left only me and Cassandra. He even says, I believe, that we should take the power. I guess he really wanted to throw Cassandra under the well-shaped bus :)

Someone had a theory that he was actually attempting to use reverse psychology on Morrigan but it ended up working on the wrong person :D

Solas: Don't you dare drink that well!

Inquisitor: I'mma drink that well!

Solas: No, don't you d- I mean yes-

Morrigan: Don't you dare drink that well!

Inquisitor: *Drinks well*

Solas:

i'm currently doing my canon playthrough with solas and although i'm still in the hinterlands (and thus a looong way from the arbor wilds), i still don't know whether i should drink from the well or not, since we still don't know what the long-term consequences will be when it comes to romanced solas >___<    DLC can't come fast enough.

The highlight of tonight's holiday gathering was having two cousins and one of my aunts talking about how Solas broke their heart.

Followed by a third cousin getting their copy of DAI and yelling "I know who you are elf-man! I am not some starry-eyed waif who will fall sway to your pelvic sorcery!" when Solas popped up on screen.

I hope you realize your luck- my family, including my husband, think dragon age is the ultimate in stupid. And a waste of time, but that's from my mom. Good thing I'm old enough now to do what I want!

i know the feels.  not just my family, but even a lot of my rl friends think that gaming is a waste of time - yet sitting in front of the tv for hours on end is perfectly acceptable :/  my mum has also been trying to convince me for years that living just to work and pay bills (to secure a better future financially speaking) is all i should strive for in life, which i completely disagree with.  there is no joy in it, and i see only stress and misery.  games are my way of relaxing and escaping the daily rigours of life.

a big consolation in my case is that my husband is actually the one who got me into gaming.

My husband is a gamer- or at least, he's a pretty typical male "casual" gamer. Meaning he plays (on the weekends) Call of Duty and Madden and drinks beer and talks **** in multiplayer. :) So he kind of understands but not really.

Also I got a tumblr and I really would like to have some suggestions as to good Dragon Age blogs to follow. I was never a tumblr girl before but I think I'm coming around.

I think what she's afraid of is that she's wrong, and what it will mean if she is.  Her greatest fear is "the Nothing."  Very existentialist of her.  So, it's very important to her that the Maker be real, that there be an afterlife, etc.

When she's confronted with the possibility that she might be wrong, and maybe the afterlife isn't what she hopes it will be, or even possibly not there at all, she wants to shout it down as being demons etc.

I still don't like Sera.  Not after her being so hard on my VERY SAD Inquisitor, who needed a shoulder to cry on, not someone to mock her for being Dalish.

I thought she said that she didn't believe in the maker either. At the beginning of the game is scares her that the maker might be real when you talk to her after haven. Unless I'm remembering wrong. which is a strong possibility.

Scripting errors!? Oh dear I really hope we didn't miss any other dalish banter or remarks then..  Otherwise it would give me a reason to start yet another playthrough, and I have so many already..

I'm pretty sure he approves. Either way just makes sure you have high court approval to interrupt Florianne without a fight. He finds it hot when you Orlesian Game. I don't know if the approval depends on execution or arrest.

He neither disapproves nor approves if you spare her.

Spare her (Verbal Smackdown)

Iron Bull approves

Cole approves

Sera approves

Reunite Celene & Briala

Sera disapproves

Cole approves

Cassandra greatly approves

I've just pulled up the recording I have of the scene and that's my results (Approval/Disapproval bug if existing not taken into account). I'd imaging him not approving nor disapproving ties into the fact that he does not consider Briala one of his people which he talks about after Halamshiral.

When I executed Florianne in front of the whole court, Solas disapproved.   I was a bit puzzled by this, particularly since he killed the mages for what they did to his friend.    It seemed to me that Florianne selling out the whole of Thedas just so she can be a sort of anti-Andraste as Cory's earthly bride was way worse.    I'd given her the opportunity to back down in the Royal apartments but she refused.    I can only think he thought it wasn't playing the game properly or some such.   The thing is if you spare her then really the optimum outcome is meant to be you recruit her as an agent.   However, I really didn't want her sort of politics influencing the Inquisition and she had no mitigating factors, like doing it out of love for a child, etc, so I never took that option.     If I spare her she ended up working in the kitchens.

But if you spare Florianne you get your very own court jester with bad shoes! A real live court jester!

I'm watching YouTube videos because I wanted to know what happens when you choose the "it's okay" option in haven instead of the kiss...

It seems nobody has the strength to resist Solas kisses. ^_^

I think it's like PW told us, he tends to respect solutions that don't involve brute force, but yeah, he's blinded by vengeance against the mages in his quest. Hence why I don't let him microwave them.

As for the well of sorrows choice, when Solas said there was no way he was going to drink, I took that as a subtle hint that he thought it a really bad idea I should drink even though he thought someone should.    That really only left Morrigan as an option.     I was a bit miffed about this, particularly when back at Skyhold Morrian is going on about how she can understand all these ancient elven writings now and my poor Lavellan was thinking "that could have been me".    I couldn't even ask Solas why he had been against it, not that I suppose he would have told me.     Mind you when Flemeth turned up and Morrigan discovered she is to serve her, I started to feel a bit better about the whole thing.

There seems a lot of odd little problems with the game: glitches, bugs and now scripting errors - it is a real shame because I think the game is brilliant but it is really frustrating when you get a long way in, only to discover the reason something hasn't happened is because of some fault that she have been picked up before release.   I'm wondering how long it will be before everything is sorted out so you get the game as the writers intended.

Solas usually doesn't like if you execute someone -- I think the only one he approves of or doesn't disapprove of is the guy from Adamant. I suspect he also does not like that you're executing her before hearing her case, in a public setting.

Never mind that in banter with Viv he basically says that he believes that he would be a good person to be judge/jury/executioner for any mages that strayed from the path were there no Circles. Or maybe he just meant he'd lock away all the wrong-doers? Who knows. Sometimes he's a bit of a hypocrite.

I missed it -- what was a scripting error in the Temple? I thought the missing protests from Solas was actually completely left out, not just an error. I can't wait until after the holidays when we should start seeing all these little things get taken care of. Or any patch at all for my system (I'm so bitter about being left out). In the meantime I'm just reading through all the books and playing the old games...

(to zambixi) The scripting error was the Dalish Inquisitor, among other things, asking Morrigan about who Mythal was. I believe it was Patrick Weekes who responded that it sounded like a scripting error and that he believed the elven Inquisitor should have had race-specific dialogue. It should be noted that he said 'maybe' so he wasn't sure if that was the case but it is still hopeful and makes a great deal more sense.
