I don't think Solas has a nude model. Why would they make one for him? All of the models in those nude mods are the default models anyways I'm pretty sure, probably for the Inquisitor. For proof, look at Iron Bull. He looks completely different from what we see when he's shirtless in the game which is pretty much all the time.

That body on Solas in that mod is definitely off. Solas is broader than that in-game and I doubt it's just because of his sweater.

I have a Dragon Age roleplaying question concerning the mage/templar conflict for you lovely Solassians.  I'd start a topic, but BSN is scary and I don't want it to turn into some kind of flame war.  It's safe here, so I hope it's OK I ask even if it's off-topic.  I'll put it in spoiler tags so I don't derail the thread.

I like to think that he disapproves because of LURRRRVE. I think that the real reason he breaks up with the inquisitor is because he thinks it will keep her safe and alive. He's probably wrong because come on, we all know our Lavellans can kick ass and protect themselves, but I think he's doing it because he's, as he says to Cole, on a path he wouldn't wish on his worst enemy. So when the inquisitor says she's willing to surrender instead of fight to survive, I think he's hurt, because he wants her to live and survive. If he didn't care about her survival, he probably wouldn't have broken up with her to spare her.

I agree that he loves her deeply by the end, but when she says that they still aren't romantically involved. This doesn't mean I didn't headcanon the same thing and went "awwww" the first time I saw his disapproval pop up on sceen

Waaaaaaaa... Yeah, Solas really has a smaller body. But not as boyish as male elf Quizzy?

Looking at those photos, I feel like they're not accurate? Solas' shoulders look more narrow and his hips seem wider then they are when he's wearing his clothes/armor.

I noticed that a couple people said they received the Inquisition art book for Christmas, so I'm gonna derail the topic for a second (sorry!) to quickly ask if the art book has the illustrations from the tarot cards? A friend gave me a gift card, which I'm contemplating using towards the book.

I saw a couple people mention their families didn't really understand their gaming. No one in my immediate family plays (or cares) about games, but I guess I'm fortunate because I work where there are lots of people who game, and my bff is as addicted to this game as I am, so I do have IRL people I can obsess to. LOL This is really the only place I can talk about Solas in detail, though, because my friend hasn't done his romance so doesn't understand the feels. I'm trying to talk her into it, but she's done the Dorian romance and is now doing Cullen's.

I have the book and it's got a lot of beautiful art in it, but it's mostly character design and environments. There aren't large versions of the tarot cards, and after doing a cursory scan of it I didn't see any of them. So I wouldn't buy the book for the tarot cards since they're not there, or if they are they're not very large...

Further, if you look at the larger-sized versions from the original Reddit post, it appears that Iron Bull doesn't have a neck in the "naked" armor set - it's just his head floating above the default body model. XD

Have you considered putting her on the Templar path instead? That might work better with her character.

I wondered what a pro-Circle mage would do there too. Vivienne disapproves if you ally, probably because it guarantees that the mages will have enough pull when all is said and done to never return to the Circles. Conscripting them means you can probably get them back in there, though possibly by force.

I guess it's a question of whether not being a hypocrite, the happiness of her fellow mages or rebuilding the Circle is more important to her.

She doesn't like bullies, but in that scene she was a bully herself.  Edit:  Would also like to add that she also claims to care about the little people, but doesn't care how her actions could cause them harm.  Also, the brutal way she murders that noble?  Unacceptable to me.  I could move past it, because obviously she has a beef and the guy was rotten as roadkill, but still... it wasn't a good starting point even then.

...

To me it was a huge wake-up call, and if Uth'shiral wasn't such a nice person, I'd have had her kick Sera out on her behind.

Ugh, the part where she kills the noble, it was most brutal scene in the game, I really wanted Quizzy to stop her midway or something. She looked like a monster, after that there was a scene in Skyhold where she thanks Quizzy for letting her kill them and I just stared at her. I was shocked no one in the party commented about that! I took Solas & Cassandra with me! Wat.

I can't bring myself to kick Sera out, she does want to help, even if she is pretty insensitive. My Lavellan decided to look past that because I decided they are friends, but I personally never liked her. I even sat with her on the roof after Solas dumped my Lavellan (RPing her seeking comfort >_> I also let my Lavellan get drunk with Bull after she got dumped...).

I hate how when they first met she judged my Quizzy based on the fact she's an elf. She doesn't want to be seen as a pair of pointy ears, but she, herself, sees elves as such. Being childish is part of her personality, and expecting someone to treat you differently than you do to them is a very childish notion. I don't like childish people, I only like childlike people :< (my Lavellan is probably more patient then I am).

There is a bare butt and you might have a seizure because flashing...and I don't mean the butt flashing, I mean bright colors flashing!

Can't stop. Don't have any likes left. Want to like this. This. Is. Hypnotizing.

He's lying about having never seen magic like it before. Abelas recognizes the feel of the magic, if not exactly what it is, there's no way Solas doesn't.

He probably disapproves because the Inquisitor has the Anchor.

He's not referring to her mark, though, but the Breach, and trying to exonerate the Herald who's being threatened with execution. As he says later, he never believed it would be possible for Corypheus to use the orb the way he did, so while as usual he's holding back information, I wouldn't call his statement a lie.

And yeah, I think he disapproves of the Inquisitor throwing herself at Corypheus without first understanding what he's doing there. He approves if you ask Cole what he wants, and doesn't disapprove later when you tell Cullen you'll distract Corypheus to cover their escape.

I considered it, but the only problem with the allying with the Templars is that she's then dooming the mages who are under a magister's "care".  She knows and grew up with a lot of them, so she still wants to save them.  But, she doesn't want to doom the templars, either!  She even told Josephine that she used to fancy a templar, lol.

I headcanon this for my canon Lavellan (AKA Arlaise 'love-at-first sight" Lavellan). Normally it's before the romance though, so I think he's just sort of rolling his eyes like, "seriously another person with a hero complex out to be noble without any idea of the consequences?" As in if the Inquisitor sacrifices themselves it's unlikely that will actually stop Coryphallus and even 30 seconds of considering his real goals could tell you it's a silly idea. Solas knows Quizzie's the only one capable of sealing the breach and thinks it's silly for them to give up their lives so a few people can get temporary respite (luckily Quizzie lives).

She's free, but not by choice -- correct? If she were able to do so she would return to the Circle, but there is a duty she has been given (by the Chantry), and she will see it out. I don't really think she's actually much more free than the mages since they're all bound to the cause of the Inquisition.

Bald Solas is best Solas.

I approve.

I won't lie, I want to see how he looked younger, but just because I want to see what kind of hairstyle he chose for himself, maybe learn something about his personality.

I love him the best bald, and I'm not even attracted to bald men... I think.

I'm attracted to all men except the ones I'm not attracted to. Hair is just a number, baby. (that's not right, is it?)

I wonder if he did have hair. I mean, he'd have to at some point. Though all the ancient elves we've seen thus far have been bald as far as I know. Is it a style or the result of immortality is the question.

My gut feeling would be to go the Mage route and possibly conscript them at the end.  I think she would want to try and help them but would not want to fully take their side.  Sola's won't be pleased :D

Flemmythal has hair. Quite a lot of beautiful, fancy hair. And it's not like her hair makes her blend in since she fashions it like dragon horns. Not that Flemythal = Mythal Prime, but I'd imagine if it were some sort of deep-ingrained cultural thing, then it would overpower whatever aesthetic Flemeth Prime brought to the partnership.

I had this fan fiction in my head (the most ridiculous and stupid one that I'm ashamed of) where Lavellan is missing Solas and happens to pick up that old time traveling pendant at the same time with her left hand (the marked one). She just thinks "i wish I could go back to a time when we could be together" and BAM her marked hand activates the pendant and she's sent back thousands of years.

So she's there and a bit confused and she think she sees Solas, but dressed all weird. He's got a long mowhawk of dreads and is wearing furs with a skull on his head. She runs up to him yelling in common tongue and he's like "i don't know how you are" but in fluent and quick elvish. They both don't understand each other very well but Lavellan thinks he's just being an ******* and he's very confused at this feisty lady elf who somehow has some of his magic in her hand.

Lots of misunderstandings and LOLs. They fall love and the truth unravels.

Eventually the gang comes to "rescue" her. and by rescue Dorian jumps out of a time rift screaming "I DID IT, I'M AMAZING" while the rest fall around him out of the thing. I don't know where that will fit in but i just need that image in my head.

Anyway so he falls in love with her, but she needs to go back to her time and do all her important stuff or she will change history. They both realize that he has to forget her in order to not ruin the space time continuum, no matter how bad things turned out. She get's to remember her time with him though, and if they ever get together again in the future she will show him those memories.

And that is why when he first sees her, he has all these weird feelings. But he doesn't know where they are from. So it's like a weird time travel romance dr. who thing.

Anyway that was dumb bye.

Ah yes you are right, I've got Solasickness in the brain and my timelines are all messed up. For some reason I was thinking this convo happened after Haven or something I don't know. But, in any case, I agree that it is a disapproval of the inquisitor's willingness to throw her life away without knowing the consequences, which still is sort of the same?  I mean, there is a little flirting before this convo, the one where he compliments her skillz (muscles or focus or whatevs), so the seed of LURVE has been planted....RIGHT? RIGHT? hahahah Team Optimism 4EVA

True, Iron Bull's model over there looks like the default male Qunari one, Iron Bull is bigger than that, you can see the model doesn't fit - he has no neckkkkkk

I absolutely adore the scene where Solas casts his magic to remove the Vallaslin. My Quisy actually looked better without it but since the Elven inquisitors do not have the option of not having Vallaslin I didn't know any better lol.

Seems like a result of immortality?

I can imagine hot blooded Solas having some rad hairstyle, fits the character, he also doesn't seem to be a very stylish person, so I doubt he'll give a **** about the fashion in those days /cough

I need to correct myself, I'm not very attracted to balding men, I think that's because balding comes from hormonal reactions. I could totally date one, of course, I don't care much about how a person looks :D Hair is just words on the wall :|

I love all the fics that suggest their love is older than it is in the game though. There was one I read with Young!Lavellan and a Fen'Harel statue that I wish I could find...it did the "I don't hate Fen'Harel because reasons" thing without seeming too over the top.

Unrelated... HIFW Lavellan is trying to make friends
