So I decided on Torchic. I named her after the Inquisitor. Did you know that that Torchic is in the same egg group as Absol which I'm naming Solas after (cause misunderstood Pokemon, misunderstood Solas, Absolas)? I feel like a horrible person for shipping Pokemon named after characters from another game. Actually I feel horrible for shipping Pokemon at all.

 

Also, I really have to question the adults in the world. First your parents let you ride in the back of the moving truck with the packages that could crush your tiny body (your mother specifies it was a bumpy moving truck). Then they tell you to walk into a perfect stranger's house. Then this other kid's mom tells you to go up to the room of their child which is the opposite sex of you. Then Professor Birch, an adult and Pokemon Professor, needs you to rescue him from a low level Pokemon. Then he gives you a Pokemon and tells you to wander off and your parents are not only okay with it, but they encourage it. At least you get a map.

 

Also also, am I going to be sneaking up on things? Cause you can walk like a creeper in this game.

 

I got pokémon for x-mas as well and have to decide what starter to pick and which Dragon Age character to name it after xD. Thinking of going with either Hawke or Lavellan. Is it weird I want a team named after all the elven gods?

 

While I ultimately chose to romance Cullen with my female Lavellan, I still really like Solas' character and his development over the course of the story. I know this might sound stupid but is it wrong to believe that, even if you didn't romance him, Solas might still have feelings for female Lavellan?

 

Considering how willing Solas is to return the kiss in scene one...I think he does have a bit of a crush on her. Or at least finds her attractive. Especially since he's pretty forward with his flirts in Haven once you initiate him.

 

But I think he keeps it on lock if you don't pursue anything. And maybe it is sort of a respect crush, if that makes sense.

 

I took him on that mission, but thankfully I didn't see him get used as a battering ram (poor Cassandra) however I did get some soul-crushing looks from him before he left:

I wish I could have taken him on that mission. In the sense of, I wish he time traveled and saw himself and the awful world. Future Solas seems to be much more sorry, and a lot less prideful than Solas Prime. When you get back to Haven Solas Prime is like, "are you sure you didn't just have some crazy Fade-Dream?" Like yes Solas, I'm sure that when Alexius sent me through a rift it wasn't to super-happy-fun-land.

The first thing I thought about was how dewy his skin is.

I think that is a distinct possibility. If you have a good relationship with him then you can see how deeply he admires the Inquisitor.

 

What hints most at him having feelings for a female Lavellan, even if she doesn't start a romance with him, is that conversation in the Fade scene. If you choose not to kiss him he says, "You throw me off so easily. Even here." With that and the way he looks at her when he says, "You change...everything" I have a feeling that he's already fallen in love with her. Now, if she doesn't pursue him then he's able to keep himself from getting in to deep, and simply admire her from afar. But I think the feelings are still there. 

I know it's just head-canon but I can't help but feel there is a strong connection between the two, even if fem Lavellan chose someone else. I guess part of me kinda hopes for an unrequited love angle for his character, like with Darth Sion from KOTOR II (if you picked F!Exile) or Anders.

I know it's just head-canon but I can't help but feel there is a strong connection between the two, even if fem Lavellan chose someone else. I guess part of me kinda hopes for an unrequited love angle for his character, like with Darth Sion from KOTOR II (if you picked F!Exile) or Anders.

I know, he tried. The glare of the light probably isn't helping the picture. My friend also gave me the Skyhold t-shirt and Inquisitor mug, this was compensation because he couldn't find anything Solas in the BW store. I did him though he gets points for having the eyes the right colour and the necklace.

I've been questing a lot this time round with a 3 mage combo so I get the conversations between Solas and the other two, particularly Dorian.    I've just had the one where Dorian says he's sorry for what Tevinter did to Arlathan and Solas says that the elves weren't innocent victims in what took place, then he says that if Dorian really wants to make amends he'll work for the freedom of slaves of all races in Tevinter.    So much for people who say that Solas is racist.   I see what his VA meant about admiring him for his passion about things he believes in because whenever the subject of slavery comes up, he is really passionate.    I feel a bit sorry for Dorian because he does seem to get a lot of flack from Solas over this but then he does come across as a bit of a slavery apologist, which is understandable given where he comes from.   He does admit to my girl that he hadn't thought to question it until he came south.

 

Anyway the reason for this ramble is that I'm really hoping that they don't change Solas too much in the future and pull an "Anders" on us.    I know that the "road to hell is paved with good intentions", so he could make some questionable decisions in trying to help his people (merging with Flemeth/Mythal may count as one of them) but I still really love his character and would certainly be heartbroken if he suddenly became the bad guy.

 

Another thought, he reminds me a lot of Doctor Who, time travel aside.    You will recall that the good doctor had done a terrible thing in the past to his people for the good of the galaxy (although they did mitigate the worst effects of that with the 50th anniversary)  and there was a time when he only wanted to travel alone because he couldn't bear losing people, either to events or old age, but essentially he is a hero figure.    Solas came across to me the same way, romance or not.    

 

I've never got the whole 'Solas is racist' thing.  I think it possibly comes from the fact that he can only romance elves (as I've seen the same 'racist' accusation thrown at Cullen before).  Yes, Solas is pro-elf (sort of?  Maybe?  It's more complicated than that.), but that doesn't make him anti-everyone else.

I've just pulled up the recording I have of the scene and that's my results (Approval/Disapproval bug if existing not taken into account). I'd imaging him not approving nor disapproving ties into the fact that he does not consider Briala one of his people which he talks about after Halamshiral.
