Draw him like Spock.  XD

Spoiler

Pfft! I gotta say, his nether regions (or lack thereof) is quite distracting. xD

On a side note...

Spoiler

Anyone happen to know who did this beautiful piece or where the finished product is?

As far as I know, the artist isn't done yet but here's how it looks so far....

EDIT: Though the screenshot of the artwork you posted looks more polished and recent, so I'm guessing we might see the finished product soon. :)

I just experienced the Fade dream with Solas for the first time as a human, so she couldn't kiss him :(.   It still had some interesting dialogue with him, though, and added extra insight on his character and how he and the Inquisitor have a connection through the anchor.  This is my first time not pursuing his romance (since I can't), so I'm getting this for the first time.

Spoiler

When I first did the Fade dream as a human, I was sitting there like: ">_> This is oddly intimate. Are you sure I can't romance him as a human? 'Cause damn."

Seriously, we actually sought him out in the Fade. The Anchor connects the Inquisitor to Solas, I'm sure.

I love all these fan art, but with all the different Lavellans, I start to feel that Solas is a playa.

I just noticed that sticking Solas in heavier armor just causes him to add more layers on top of his casual outfit. That full set of Silverite Battlemaster Mail turns into about three fur sweater vests and what appears to be an armored scarf.

No wonder he doesn't have a naked romance scene, it must take the guy forever to get out of that armor.

Not to mention that body suit he wears under everything. I wonder if it just peels off like a second skin or something. I wonder how he even gets it on. Maybe it's actually a two piece.

So the mark drew the inquisitor to Solas through the Fade?! DLC could maaaaaybe have something related to this, where we are drawn to where he is :D

Did anyone else notice during the Champions of the Just quest that outside the main gate where you meet Barris, Cole is sitting on an upper platform and there is a glowing green raven above him? To do with the envy demon watching the quizzie enter I'm guessing?

My fourth playthrough and I'm still finding new stuff. xD He could have warned us a little earlier in that case.

Damn, really? We need to start looking up more to see if anything cool is hanging around just out of normal view. IIRC from dev commentary in Portal, most players actually never look up at the ceiling of games. It's usually from top down, or over the shoulder mostly horizontal with what the character sees. The Portal developers actually had to make pieces of some of the earlier levels specifically made to encourage players to look up and around in order to complete the harder levels later on.

Maybe the reason why the conversation between Bull and Quiz doesn't mention any safe word for Solas is because they just know that he's so iffy about power imbalances that he wouldn't be into it.

You know, hundreds of pages back, I was wondering why I know almost nothing of that mural of Ghilan'nain hugging that great beast in Blackwall's barn when people started talking about it, or when people started drawing artwork based on it. I once thought it only appeared post-game but someone mentioned it has always been there. That had me puzzled and then I brushed it off as me just not being observant.

I went to the barn again and decided to take a picture. Here's a shot of how the barn wall looks like in Blackwall's barn in my game. NOTHING! No mural!

Spoiler

I'm just wondering, is it only in the PS3 (and I'm assuming maybe even in the Xbox 360 version) where the mural doesn't appear in the barn? :/ The mural is available on the top floor of the smithy though.

Sorry, I know it's petty but I just need to ask that because it's driving me nuts.

- some late ramblings about unhappy romances -

For me, Thane dying in ME3 was probably a better conclusion than Solas leaving in DAI.  I mean, it's sad, yes, but it IS a conclusion. Less so with Jacob, but there, too, is a clear explanation as to why you cannot continue the relationship. Solas? He just leaves. While it's clear that both he and Lavellan still have feelings for each other. And it's not like you couldn't at least try to find him.

You even unlock the achievement for being in a relationship only after the break-up scene, as mentioned before.

The whole situation kind of reminds me of Morrigan leaving at the end of DAO... but the Warden got to meet her again in Witch Hunt.

The point? I'm almost sure there will be some kind of conclusion. The main question is - what kind. Bittersweet at best, probably. I still hope, however, that writers do realize that while people like drama, most of them would prefer a more-or-less happy ending afterwards.

I loved that conversation as well. You can just tell that Dorian struck a nerve and Solas is trying to reign himself in because Dorian doesn't realize what he'd said.

"Dorian! HUSH!"

Thanks for the fan art, though. The fan art helps.  <3

Yeah, I'm on PS3 and I didn't know about it until I saw people talk about it.  It seems that there's actually a fair amount of scenery artworks that aren't present in lastgen versions.  There isn't a lot of comparisons between versions, so I'm still figuring out some of the differences.  I've also wondered if lastgen is missing battle banter, because sometimes I see people talk about Solas and others saying things during battles, but in my game they never say words, just make noises.

Oh yes! Battle banters! My sister who plays on PS4 told me about battle banters and I was like, "Really? My companions never say anything during battles! Just grunts and shouting." D:

Gah! That's just sad. I thought at the very least last-gen consoles would more or less get the same thing as the next-gen and PC versions, albeit with crappier graphics (which is understandable). But to have missing scenery artworks and no battle banters? Now I'm a sad panda. :(

I really believe they will wrap up the Lavellan story.  If only for the fact that we're all still sitting here going "what?  is that all?"

With the Warden and Hawke there was a definite finality to their story that made me feel peaceful about them.  I mean it could be tragic and terrible, but I felt the closure.  Lavellan does not have that.  I don't mean she is pining, but there is a massive loose end dangling there.  I need to be able to let her go and think "alright this is the end for you."  Either "happily ever after" or "bittersweet" or "death", at this point I don't care ... I just need closure.

All that being said, I want to be on the optimism train ... where do I purchase tickets.  Also when does the love for Solas start to fade?  Because I have important things to take care of and I can't stop thinking (or writing) about him.

*a lurker steps out of the shadows*

y'know, all this talk about fanfiction has got me wanting to write some. i actually used to write reader-insert fanfictions but dragon age has distracted me from that for a good couple months.

solas x f!lavellan (in the POV of the reader) fic could be a way to remedy that, yes? B^)

Being a huge fan of my Thane romance in the ME2/3, I have to say I agree.  I was so sad to know he would eventually die (and, that he did in ME3), but I got to spend my time with him, have that last kiss, say that last goodbye.  My FemShep could properly mourn her loss, while celebrating her love for him at the same time.  I would hope (*team optimism!!!*), that some kind of future DLC would at least explore the idea of renewing the relationship or (sad) closure for said romance.  Solas says that if they are still alive after the final battle with Coryphyturd, they would have that conversation... and that conversation never occurred.

I feel strongly that based off certain details (Temple of Mythal/Well of Sorrows, the post-credits scene, and the Quizzy with the mark, all leads to some kind of... future run-in with that handsome hunk of brooding elf-meat.  It has to right? RIGHT?

I mean, if my Levellan, who...

Spoiler

Edited to add:  At least in ME3, after my beloved Thane dies, FemShep can mourn, then get it on with Kaidan! Rebounding is a way to cope, too.

We should all write strongly politely worded letters about how women don't actually like it when their video game romances end like tragic Lifetime movies (especially when our male counterparts always 'get the girl'). I want an ending that would make the end of a Hallmark movie look like the ending of Old Yeller dammit.

To be honest I entirely support this :|

Even a general letter, not only Solas centered.

We rant here, because people listen to us here, but they don't even know how we are feeling about this.

I doubt somebody visits the threads and checks on how much angst we've gathered here.

Tragedy is good in places, but not all the freakin' time. Tragic is sometimes better when there is a happy ending afterwards (sometimes, like this time).

We should make our voices be heard.
